Un Mariage Sur Clairière et la Glace

UNTO ALL WHO READ,

* * *

“Too much time has passed, so much so that I find myself in the middle of my age without children or wife. It is upon this hour that I find myself overbeared with joy, that I might finally complete my duties, not only as a man, but as a lord and the head of mine house. Praise be to GOD, for all good things do come to pass.”

THE noble house of Halcourt is proud to proclaim to the whole of Our beloved Imperium that the Baron of Artois, Lord Henri Halcourt, has taken the Lady Francesca de Senna to be his lawful wife before God and men.

THEIR Union, as seen in the traditions of the Auvergnat culture, shall nay take place in a cathedral but in the glades of Alba’s woods. As the blizzard that flurries around the Greveslands, shedding snow upon roofs and sending chills in the spines of all that deign to brave the cold, the ceremony shall be seated in nature’s well; the great pond, Cecily’s Mirror as so proclaimed by His Royal Highness, which has frozen over and shall be the locale for this union of twin eagles.

WITH the weather in mind, we encourage all of those present to wear the warmest coats and fluffiest furs. The finest cobblers in St. Godwinsburg hath offered shoes with nails that we all might safely walk across the ice without issue. Any extra coats and boots brought to the wedding will be donated to the students of the Prince’s Institution and the food left over shall be donated to the orphanage, that our fortunes might be shared amongst the least prosperous of Our populace.

THE events of the evening shall proceed as listed below;

𝜗ৎTHE CEREMONY | ON ICED POND

The ceremony, the rites of which shall be performed by Father Lothaire, shall be held upon the centre of Cecily’s Mirror. The bride shall enter, accompanied by a male relative upon horseback before being offered to the groom.

Promptly after the wedding finishes, guests are welcomed to a game of archery at the tourney grounds, where the winner might be most fortunate in securing a prize from the wedded couple. Bows and arrows shall be provided for those willing to try.

𝜗ৎTHE BANQUET | AT ORCHERE HALL

At the conclusion of the game of archers, all shall be welcomed to Orchere Hall for complimenteries and gifts. Here shall the night conclude and the Sennans might have one final goodbye before the Lady Francesca takes her place as the Baroness of Artois.

“GOD has abandoned me!” Wailed Henri’s greatest opp. She added the Lady Francesca to her prayer list that night, but was otherwise glad the Artois would finally—to a de Senna, and not her own House.

"She did not so much as call her abandoned step-children," murmered Alexandre Léon Ashford de Savoie, as he sat within the keep of Reinhold, warmed by the hearth-fire and nearness of his beloved. He folded the page between his fingers, and gave it to the flame. The title caught, darkened, and was undone- passing into ash. "Yet my cousin," he said, low and bitter, "They bid."

The younger sister of a mentioned Rothwin Aldor, Roswyn, did read over this with such a frown. "I am courting his younger brother, and he wishes not to invite me? His cruelty knows no bounds, does it?"

Josefine wondered what it was about the snowy season that made people wish to court and engage more. It disgusted her so much that she stuck the invitation into a snowman's button mouth. Not before realizing the rest of her family had to read it, and hurriedly took it inside to dry in their tea parlor.

From the grave did Lorena roll.

My sister you always had the best prospects of us all...what happened?

Alex, Constantin's parrot flew from the crow's nest, down to the cog's helm. Pierced by it's claw, a weathered missive, ink smushed by the weather.

Constantin tore the paper from Alex's foot, his cobalt gaze falling onto it, ascertaining what was wrote with a sigh. "I had hope she would join my father once she passed." he crumpled the missive into a malformed ball, tossing it into the raging tides. "May you find happiness.." he added, returning to captain his ship.

"Good luck to her. . ." Edith sighs, lamenting about her sister's terrible taste in suitors. "If a man desperate for anything he can get is someone that appeals to you, fine. S'not like the rest of us will have need of interacting with that lot."

"They never learn their lessons, pfah"

Olivier d'Artois sat in the office at the Prince's Institution, temporarily forgetting the piles of papers that were given to him by his cousin. Instead, he read over the missive. "Perhaps now he has finally found a wife of his own, he will let me marry who I wish,"  he said before diving back into preparing for the next term.

Slorbin von Kreischmaul wonders if the orcs will attend this wedding too. They didn't do any harm at the last one, they just... Showed up.

A young savoyard had misteriously found his way to this missive, that pale green gaze lingering on each word. There was no smile on his small visage instead there was sarrow, a large frown "You didn't even invite my brothers, mère" softly did he comment in that nasally and smooth auvergnian tone.

An auberian lingering deep within the comfort of his own abode chuckles softly underneath his breath, the missive coming to be shaken "My aunt is getting married!" He states, his gaze lingering upon his new wife, a comforting smile now plaguing his burnt visage "Crazy world we live in"
