Aberrant Parentage & Infernal Bloodline | CC Amendment

Old Lore:

Spoiler

Creation

A devil can only be born as such. That is to say, pre-existing characters can never be turned into devils. It is not a ‘change’ but an origin, determined before the character’s birth and tracked by a feat application (FA).

Creation
The historically understood origin of these cursed descendants, wrought by a mark inflicted onto the parent-to-be of a devil by a false prince or greater inferis (ST event characters). The skin colour of those borne of said curse will always reflect the malflame colour of the naztherak or inferis that administered it.

-In the magical creation of a devil, the naztherak or event character responsible must be listed as ‘teacher’ in the devil’s FA, ratified by a comment from the naztherak linking their MA or an ST ratifying their consent respectively.
-This can only be achieved in accordance with any prerequisites specified in naztherak lore or other hypothetical pieces that add this ability. In the event that naztherak (or other) is shelved as a player magic, or rewritten without the ability to create devils specified, magical creation of new devils becomes impossible.
- Upon disconnection from Naztherak, no Cursed-Children apps can be made in regards to offspring born from the character, or bane stated as the result of said character.

- A connected Naztherak will only conceive a Cursed Child once in their life. This is to prevent the Feat being abused and widespread. This is tracked via the Naztherak's active MA.

- A connected Naztherak will only conceive a Cursed Child when they have reached Tier 3. At Tier 3, the Naztherak's soul is corrupted enough that the blight passes on to their children, and additionally, it is when the Naztherak receives the ingrained knowledge to perform the ritual that allows the creation of Cursed Children.

Regardless of creation, all devils inherit the curses and blessings of their closest descendant ancestors with the sole exception of being denied an afterlife in the Seven Skies irrespective of human ancestry. In this regard a devil born to elfish parents will inherit long lives, pointed ears and limited fertility, whilst orcish devils will inherit tusks, bulky frames and short tempers.

-For ease of tracking, a devil must be validated by a feat application which lists the source of their curse (cursed parents, naztherak or ST event characters under ‘teacher’) as well as their underlying race.
-Devils are subject to the same boons and banes as other members of their underlying descendant race, as well as the boons and banes of mixed couplings, as detailed in racial lore.
-Devils cannot be born to non-descendant ancestors such as Kharajyr, Wonks or Hou-zi.

-The feat app for the character must be made before they are playable (before age 5). One cannot create an app for a character older than age five unless having undergone 'The Lord's Ritual'.

If both of a child's parents are devils, the child too will be born as a devil, bearing hues similar to that of their Devil-parent’s skintone. Should two Cursed Children conceive children of their own, or should they come from Bloodlines of their own, this will result in the creation or prolonging of an Infernal Bloodline. For instance, if a red-skinned devil with Goat-like traits were to conceive a child with a green-skinned devil with Snake-like traits, the child would be a mixture of said colors, and a mixture of said traits, and so on.

-Both devils must be actual players with a valid FA, a devil may not have an NPC devil partner and use this as an excuse to allow for the spamming of devil FA’s.

-Should two devils wish to have a child the applying player must possess an accepted FA before roleplaying. Both parents of this union shall list their FA’s in the aspirants FA. The child shall list their underlying race on the FA.

There have been previous rewrites of CC that had failed. Namely, one by Pallodium in August 2024, and one by Navigator this February. Both included language similar to this (infact most of the added writing here is a mix-match from both rewrite pieces, modified to be more conservative to try to prevent spam). From what I have been told, they were struck down for the sake of being rewrites rather than broken up and posted as amendments to be separately filtered through and debated. I submit this as a separate instance. Also in this instance I've clarified and mentioned the Lord's Blessing ritual for Naztherak to update the current lorepage.

Also, I think the current lore vaguely references that a union between two CC SHOULD be able to pass it on.

I could be a complete moron here, but I believe it is referencing this because it uses the word 'parents', instead of parent, and curse instead of bane. So I don't think it's referencing the Infernal Mutation bane from Naztherak (I think the Naztherak needs to be the one who posts their MA for CC created this way anyway in their FA app, but I could be wrong.)

Infact, the current lorepage for CC already mentions the Infernal Mutation bane. And uses the word bane, not cursed, In the fact that "Upon disconnection from Naztherak, no Cursed-Children apps can be made in regards to offspring born from the character, or bane stated as the result of said character."  This is why I believe that the current lore already mentions that this should be possible, but that hasn't been actually written into the current lorepage.

Naztherak automatically birth cursed children, in addition, existing CC who want CC babies can simply work with a Naz to get a bane that causes this. Just saying! <3

Thanks. Made a tiny clarification on this, I pulled this from the two rewrites by Pallodium and Navi and didn't think twice about that.

This lore has been denied.

This was taken to an internal vote and did not pass.
