Be of good spirit, people of the Empire, and please speak a prayer to wish their Highnesses a long life, full of strength, loyalty and well-deserved kinship.

“Oh how resplendent."

Livia Caesonia fashioned her hands at her front, pearl-adorned sleeve cuffs enfolding across her barren wrists of gauntly-stature. Her eyes besmirched her reflection, immersing in the finely folds of silks hand-sewn by the charming Clementine of Dover. Beyond her shoulder, a friend of merit loomed with supine hands; fixing the ebb of her pious veil that shrouded her tresses of chestnut.

“What have you say,  Valentina?

That Asturian crouched down to adjust the ivory hem of Princess Livia's skirt. As she slowly rose once more and gazed upon the solemn grace that Imperial reflected in the mirror, a smile grew upon her countenance. A gentle hand moved to puff out the top of the young woman's sleeve. She took a moment to gather her thoughts before lifting that same hand to upturn the Princess's chin towards the mirror.

"A rare beauty, as never seen before, Livia."

Circe Mareno's lightless gaze read the news, an uncertainty knotting at the bottom of her guts. She recalled how she had stood frozen as a steer as the Emperor choked his firstborn daughter, scrutinizing her for being as... heartless as him? As cold as him? Her lips puckered, ever curious about how it had all settled.

"Flowers must be sent..." she'd tell her daughter, Eirene. Then she remembered, muttering under her breath, "too much like him..."

Eirene heeded the words of her mother, the Princess Myrine, and turned to arrange a bouquet for the royal couple with haste. She knew not what her mother muttered beneath her breath, delicately plucking peonies from the nearby flowerbed.

"Do you reckon Princess Livia is fond of peonies?"
