Orcish History in Writing

Bruddahs of Krugmar, latz may know me as Uzggoth Lud'Gorkil of da Krughai, former Kheshig, right hand and blood brother of Warlord Mogroka'Gorkil, loyal warrior and apprentice shaman of Krug. We be living in da Golden Age of da uruk, yet many strong and honorable uruk of old has been passing dese days. Dey lie flat on da battlefield, dey go on hunting trip and never come back, dey found rotting in slum house as maggots eat da smile from dey face. Many cubs are born and fresh meats take der place. Dis no ting to be sad for, it simply da uruk way of life.

Now to get to point. For long time, da uruk has relied on passing down us history, lore and traditions through story-telling around bonfire. Us not known to be best at read and write. Dis be a bubhosh practice to uphold, but in time, some story be forgotten, lost wit da elders dat carry dem in der wise minds.

It be for dis reason, dat me be commissioning da transcription and recording of dese tings into da form of written book. Me tink we have enough wise elders and shaman between us dat we can make dis happen. Me know some read and write, but me is still a Nomad at heart, and dis not be someting me undertake alone.

Me want only da uruk and honorary uruk of Krugmar to take part in dis. Dem dat is know how to, write all da stories latz know down into book, all da events and history latz can find into books dat we can preserve for us cubs to remember and tell around dey bonfire. Me will pay 10 minas a page. Me have 8,000 minas to spare for dis, so dat be enough for at least one or two books me tink. Me never was gud at numbers.

((I want all the relevant information and lore on orcs you can find. Information from the Wiki as well as player-written lore collected from searching the Orcish Roleplay thread, new and old, whether the players that wrote it are still with us or not. If it's orcish and it's generally accepted as a part of our lore, I want it. If you're not the original author, try to coordinate with the original author and see if they'd prefer to be the one writing it in-game. If not, credit the original author somewhere in the book. If you've been sitting on some well thought out stories or lore that aren't posted anywhere yet, let me know and I'll most likely accept those too, so long as they mesh with the accepted lore. Ultimately it's all the property of Lord of the Craft, but this is just a courtesy I'd like to see for those who have contributed. I want to push for more written-lore in-game. Not everyone frequents the forums and with the new map, I'd like to help establish a shaman library somewhere in the capital, chock full of books. I'll be preserving these books the best I can, already have a small collection tucked away, and hopefully will be able to transfer them over with the map change. If not then I'll just commission them a second time. Try to maintain a copy just in case one gets lost. I generally maintain copies myself once I've got it. 10 minas a page and I've got 8,000 minas to spare, unless you're just a beast and feel like donating.))

((Yikes, thanks for the heads up. Thought I had more time and was going to take a shot at smuggling books in through The Verge. Anyone interested in this, keep it in mind and post your interests, but take a rain-check on the actual writing in-game for the time being, just in case. I'll give the go-ahead once Petyr stops winking and nodding at me. :P))

((Okay y'all, the Wiki has a new section for recording books from in-game. If anyone's got anything interesting to contribute, along with the Wiki know-how, please consider hopping on and adding to the collection. I'm going to be trying to transcribe all of the orcish texts I've collected, along with a few other books of interest. This is a good opportunity to preserve some of our written lore that exists solely in-game before we migrate to the new continent and lose everything, so any help with this would be appreciated. Just be sure to include the original author's MC Name and put [[Category:Books and Lore]] somewhere at the bottom of the page you're editing.))
