Tarus denied those positions most likely because he thought was wasn't ready yet. I don't know his motivation for denying them, but it shows that he is not power hungry. In the rangers, we never whined once about only being a sergeant.

I think it means alot for Braxis to have these high positions rather than the lower ones. I personally think it would very much effect Ezekiel to have this drastic switch of power and even type of power, while for Braxis it would be a very similar thing.

Also I would like to say that Ezekiel is a very good person, I just do not think he has the character or the personality to step into this sort of office, while Braxis has the experience of leading vast numbers of people, which the office of king requires.

Oren Captain (EST side)

High Constable

Senechal

Commander of the Oren Rangers

And much, much more. So think before ye speak. Do not accuse one without thinking. Just because he is revolting, does not mean that he is evil or such..

I have both ran my own very successful town and been Guard Captain twice. I've saved many people's lives personally and some of my tales are still mentioned when people see me. I have almost fifty-years more experience then Braxis in this life in both military and politics and am a favorite of all who've served with me, by me, or under me.

Yes, and I fully honor you for saving lives and such, but the sad fact is, that if you were king, we would lose a very important member of the community. Being king is no personal job where you can help everyone, it is hard and bureaucratic. If you were to become king, we would lose this fellowship which binds Oren together. This is why we need Braxis. He was raised into this, and knows what the consequences of his actions would be. He has been trained for this his whole life, while I am convinced you would not be able to take the constant duties which this office requires. Again, I very much respect you, but I must disagree that this is both best for Oren....best for you as a person.

And Braxis is able to handle the job? What qualification does he have? All he has done is be a Knight, and a Knight Commander for just a few years. He has not seen the world like Tarus has. I have not been trained for this my whole life? Who's forced government change twice now and finally has his hand to do it without war? Braxis certainly has done it formally- I have the real experience.
