Eze'kiel walked over to the news board in Galahar and took out a piece of fine parchment paper and tacked it to the board. He'd walk away and many citizens would run over to see what has been posted by the King of Renatus.

Dear, Citizens of the Kingdom of Renatus;

I have recently taken it upon myself to name my heir,

he who'll take over my mantle in my place,

when the days grow shorter,

and colder,

and grim.

That's for a time in the future though- as for now I am well, and this is just to plan ahead. My heir is my closest blood relative, being the son of my sister and close-family allies. He has legitimate claim for the future and is both educated and diplomatic. My heir is James Hightower, who is also our Head Ambassador currently. I know he will work for the better of the nation, for the future, and for our people when I may no longer do so.

If this worries you- let it not. The council does have authority over the King too. Should the King be doing an insufficient job in the future, they may vote out the King, ending the particular bloodline's royal rule. This is to ensure we do not have another situation much like Edmund and Enor, where the King, who was insufficient to rule, will not be in power for a prolonged time frame.

I may change my heir, at any time, but I see James as both legitimate and well chosen heir.

((Not that it matters or anything but this government allows the king to choose an heir apparent but upon the death of the king the council votes the new king in power. All that matters is noble blood not royal blood. However I like his choice of successor. ))
