Time-Zone/Country of Residence: Western United States (Pacific Standard Time)

Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: Yes.

Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I'm currently a junior in high-school, and am an aspiring writer and musician. I enjoy all types of media (Film, theater, so on), and am also attempting to get myself into some acting if possible.

How much time could you be on the server weekly?: On the weekends several hours at a time, weekdays perhaps an hour or two depending on whether or not I have work.

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you.: Roleplaying, in my opinion, is incredibely similar to improvisational acting, and in some forms that is exactly what it is. It is the portrayal of a story using specific character-to-character interactions and conflicts that can be developed over a long period of time on both large and small scales.

In your own Words, describe what Metagaming and Powergaming are. Metagaming is the use of information that you have gained in a solely Out of Character format in an In Character way. Powergaming is forcing an action upon another character such as taking a wound. For example, if I were to roleplay a character and state his action as "He then stabs him in the throat," instead of saying "He attempts to stab him in the throat," it leaves no way for the other roleplayer to have their character do something else. This is of course not restricted to combat roleplay.

What do you expect this server will be like?: From what I've seen I expect a large population with a very professional staff and some excellent roleplaying. All things that draw me in.

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: I've played on the servers called Navia, Mesalia and Italus. They all came to slow down and die.

Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: Yessir!

How did you hear about us?: A friend of mine, 'Sawses', said that 'Addington' played here.

Have you voted for the Lord of the Craft on Minestatus? Which vote number were you? No.

What is your The Lord Of Craft forum account name?: HappyShackles

In-Character:

Character Name: Lorethos Quincy D'verda

What is your Race?: Human

Biography(This should include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): Lorethos was born in the capitol of Oren to a knight of a father and a magically inclined mother. As the years passed, Lorethos was brought up under his father's personal beliefs. He would fight nobly and strongly with shield and sword, and would aid the weak and do battle on the evil. He would not grow prejudiced but instead be passive in his dealings even with those lesser then him, lest they be of malicious intent. He would not become a warrior at heart, but a man. He would condemn war and only fight to end it. He would learn all he could so it would be that he is not seen as foolish, and so that he does not see others as foolish. As his father taught him these virtues, his mother surrounded him with all the thoughts and ideas and books on magic she could think of. His grasp of magic was not practical, however, simply educational.

As a child, he took this to heart. His chivalrous father and kind mother birthed him a smaller brother the next year, named Geoffrey. Lorethos, however, was naturally gifted in all of the dealings of his father's code. Geoffrey was primarily a failure. He was frail and dim, and had a terrible stutter. Their father would often leave Geoffrey at home when they went out.

When Lorethos was aged nineteen and his brother eighteen, their mother fell ill and died. Their father gave them a confident look, claiming that her happiness would be found in where she has left, and there was nothing to grieve for, but within Lorethos and Geoffrey could see him weeping. Two years later their father was remarried to a terrible mistress, who treated both him and his sons with the utmost malice, expecting to be waited on in a most selfish manner. The sons would ask their father why he married this terrible woman, and he would claim he loved her. Lorethos, however, knew that she had come from a nobler house then theirs, and they had needed the wealth that came with the bond. She gave birth to a daughter much unlike her mother, and the great distance in age between the brothers and the sister was seen as awkward by their relatives. Lorethos did his best to protect his sister, Annabelle, from becoming like her mother, and oftentimes cared for her himself.

When Lorethos was twenty he embarked on a journey to orcish lands, to learn all he could. Three years later his father was challenged to a duel by a neighbor. His father was ill, so Geoffrey claimed championship for his father against his wishes. Geoffrey was killed in the duel. When Lorethos returned just that year after journeying through the harsh deserts, learning the ways of the Orcish people best he could. He cursed himself and his father wept within again, as did Lorethos now. Lorethos proceeded to challenge the man to a second duel, and this time Lorethos slew him. His father instantly condemned the action, and in his shame, Lorethos left to continue his wandering, towards the elven lands this time. For three more years he traveled with the elves and learned their ways. He made friends among them and fought beside them as he had with the orcs.

He did not return home after this, however. He was far too shamed by his vengeful murder. He instead traveled to the dwarves, and attempted to gaint heir acceptance as well. As with the other two races, it was difficult to gain their trust, but he managed to do so and lived with a dwarven family for the next four years, till he was thirty. Upon his return home, his family home had been forgotten and lost. Those seven years away had caused much change, and the area where he once lived was demolished, new structures in their place. The tasks he had done on his journeys had given him some money, but he decided against living again in one solitary place. He would continue to wander in his newfound purpose, and he would learn and fight for good as he always had. For even as he asked his old neighbors where his family had gone, they could not tell him. He convinced himself they had escaped that existance and started another one, and whether or not he found them was irrelevent. In the back of his mind, though, he is always searching.

Lorethos has long dark hair and a short beard. He does not wear heavy armor, instead clothed in leather, with a longsword and a bow, being rather trained with both. His eyes are a deep green, as his father's were, and his gaze is a very intense and dazed one. He gets a satisfication out of aiding those who need it, and feels poorly for those he can not aid with his skillset. Learning is second nature to him. He always has a book, and reads when he stops for the night to sleep, sometimes forgetting to shut his eyes the entire night. He even began writing earlier in his life, around the age of twenty, but never managed to get any of his work published. He's rather versed in the history of Aegis and the several kingdoms, but he still believes experience is the best way to learn, rather then simple reading.

Your characters ambitions: Lorethos has a great desire to find a way to immortalize himself in history in a positive way, hopefully through literature. He wants a genuine memory of good, though. He would never make up a lie for memory, and he would always put someone else before himself.

Out in the Wilds, your character comes across a small cottage. Outside, there appears to be an elf struggling combat with two bandits. What does your character do? Lorethos, instead of using his bow which would be far safer, wants to help the Elf out of harms way as soon as possible, and so draws his longsword and charges into combat, but not towards the bandits, towards the space between the bandits and the elf trying to seperate the bandits from the elf.

Your character walks up to a shop in the middle of Al'Khazar. "Hello, my good sir!" says the shop owner. "What may I help you with today?" How does your character answer? Lorethos crosses his arms, observing the shop for a moment before answering, obviously in a daze. After a moment he replays what the shopkeep spoke in his head and responds in an articulate and curious tone of voice. "What kind of books do you have?"
