Briamoth

"Leave everything besides the clothes on your backs!"

The words rang in Briamoth's ears as he disposed of his belongings. Everything he had lived for was being put into this chest never to be seen again. His journals, his crops, his weapons. Everything. He had nothing but his clothes and cowl. He dropped his bow and arrows. It was the same bow his father had given him when he was just a child. A surge of emotions rose up inside of him. He remembered how he had left his mother and father when he was younger. He hadn't even said goodbye and now he had no one to say goodbye to. Maybe that was the source of all of his problems: he was afraid of hurting others so he didn't want to become close to anyone.

He suppressed the feelings and boarded the ship that would carry him away from his homeland that was being destroyed before his very eyes. He had not heard the name of the new place, but he had been told it would save the population of Aegis from the evil Undead that had attacked them. He'd hoped it was true. He had seen far too many of his friends killed by the Evil that had obliterated everything around him.

The ship set sail in the next few moments, and he, and the other Elves on the ship, were actually quite excited about the new land. It was the first time that a lot of them had traveled anywhere outside of Malinor let alone Aegis itself. There was one odd thing Briamoth had noticed, though. He had seen an unknown male Wood Elf wearing a hood board the ship. He had asked around, but no one had ever seen him around, so Briamoth decided to keep his distance, not wanting any trouble.

Briamoth knew not how long the trip to the new land had lasted, but he was relieved to finally arrive. The new land looked fairly similar to Aegis with grass and trees here and there. All of the Elves crowded around the gangplank as the crew lowered it for them to cross onto land. The hooded Elf also arose and walked towards the group. He's coming with us so he must have been there all along. Briamoth forgot about the Elf and was now eager to see his new home.

The group suddenly began to lurch forward as they made their way to land, some of them finally ready to get off the ship. Briamoth now made his way to land and took his first breath in the new land. He exhaled with relief. There was no scent of burning flesh that had plagued Aegis for so long now. It was nice to finally get away from the troubles of his old and begin anew. He noticed most of the people heading towards the right, so he decided to go to the left not wanting to be among so many people for any longer. It didn't take long for Briamoth to be out of sight, which was what he liked most.

He found a nice flat area to rest upon and take in the new atmosphere. He believed that this new land would be a very prosperous one that would be filled with peace all across it. He closed his eyes, lying on his back with his hands being used as a pillow. Briamoth noticed something through his eyelids. Someone or something was blocking the sun and it was casting a shadow on him. He opened his eyes to see the hooded Elf gazing down at him with a sword pointed at Briamoth's throat. Startled by the sudden appearance of the other Elf, Briamoth quickly rose and nearly nicked himself on the blade.

"You should be more careful. All of the farming has gotten to your head, hasn't it? Made you forget all of your training." The other Elf's voice was soft but was very authoritative.

"Who are you?" Briamoth managed to stutter.

"Let's just say that I'm closer to you than you might think. You say you've never seen me before which means I've done my job."

"Your job? What are you talking about?"

"Is it really that hard to tell? Maybe if I removed this hood?" The other Elf replied in an annoyed tone.

The other Elf removed his hood and he saw no change in Briamoth's puzzled look.

"Since you're obviously still in the dark, maybe I'll enlighten you."

The other Elf's expression changed from one of pity to one of anger. The Elf lifted his blade and dropped it swiftly across Briamoth's neck. His head rolled down the small incline and landed at the Elf's feet.

"By the way, my name is Sirithsir and that's for abandoning our parents."

OOC: Yes, I am starting a new character. This is now cliche, but I've had this idea for a couple of months and this was the best way to incorporate it into the story.

Here is the link to the new character bio, Sirithsir.
