Once again I have returned to writing, I did so in my youth once oh I was some much younger then stronger to and more sure of my path but now I do not know and I think maybe I do not wish to know but life no matter if I am lost or not goes on, although much faster for some like the humans with their ever so short lives so long it takes them to mature and then so quick is their decline.

I think that maybe that now I am dying, after all these years but still it will be slow so drawn that out my life will be as I am now even at over three hundred middle aged. Again I will return to my self reflection and what I should do, I could stay in the mines my entire life chiselling at the rock or maybe I could write philosophy and join the monks or maybe a group of scholars..I think though that I will not be satisfied with either for I am not satisfied with my nations place in this new continent, I could not just plainly sit and watch as all the trials of my kin came to nothing but still how would I get into politics as politics is the only way I could change anything, I have little power I am an elder aye but still that gives me little leverage. I think I will write more later but now I must return to mining for I have little else to do.

I have again taken up the pen, I have done little mining since I last wrote as I have been deep in thought, recently I have received news, the first letter arrived from the Holm it said little other than Arbrek was still in the mines...I hope that he is still alive, his loss would be most damaging although considering he left a will I doubt he himself thought he would return alive.

Another piece of news arrived by messenger and was left by the gate, there is to be a clan meet at Karik in a year or more it seems everyone is thinking forward a long time. The rest of the news is rather irrelevant so I will not record it. Since I have little to do I have decided that I will begin recording events as well as my life and various translations of books which I saved from Aegis which in total number twelve I have already translated some parts of the books and will be recording them in here rather than on the scraps of paper I have transcribed on before now.

Hmm it seems my original plans will have to wait as I seem to be blocked down here in the mines by magma, in hindsight it would have been good to bring my books down here as at least then I would have something to do however it seems my next few days will be devoted to clearing a path to the surface.

I have managed to get part way out of the mines but have fund myself in a cave where the only exit I can see is blocked by both magma and a slime! Again it seems I will have to mine my way out.

Magma it seems truly hates me ,if such a thing can hate, as whilst mining I broke through a block and was nearly consumed by it and so maybe I think my life may not be as drawn out as I have estimated.

I have found the source of the magma, it seems that Kal'Dwain has imported a large quantity of the liquid which NEARlY killed me! It would have been nice of them to warn me but never mind all the ores that are hidden by the lava are mine now.

I have managed to retrieve a large quantity of the ores but I finally gave up because that mine and the magma are a death trap! I hope Arbrek is not having the same trouble in the mines of the Holm.

Despite my several brushes with death though I have managed to find a good amount of ore and have finally returned to Kal'Dwain once again! My books and notes as well as my sugar are as I left them and also much has been added to the city although I think I will have to talk to Skippy about that damn lava!
