Althos Silverblade 42 Share Posted February 14, 2012 *A sheet of paper is pinned to the door of your house. You take it down and begin to read.* To the owner of this property, I am leaving this note to inform you of the Renatus tax system. This will cover the costs, the means of payment and the times of payment. First of all, the cost. Houses will be taxed depending on it's size. The largest houses currently standing are taxed 200 minas per Elven week. These houses are those next to the theatre, and those running alongside the river. All other houses in the middle class district are taxed 150 minas per Elven week, and slum houses are not yet taxed although this is subject to change, no matter how unlikely. A sign will be left next to your door detailing the amount of money your taxes are worth. In order to pay, just send a bird carrying the money to my house or leave them in your chest. Please send documentation of your name and house with it. ((In other words, pay the money to the account Lord_Kashi and take a screenshot of it. Then PM the screenshot to me if I am offline. If I am online, just send me a tell letting me know that these are your weekly taxes.)) As stated before, taxes are to be paid every Elven week. If for some reason you unable to pay the taxes that week, please let me know as soon as you can so that it may go in the records. Special arrangement can be made and you can pay in iron ingots rather than in coins. Again, you must arrange this with myself before hand and leave a locked chest outside your door with the iron in it when your taxes are due. Should you fail to pay taxes one Elven week without notice, you will be sent a bird ((forum message)) and should you fail again the next Elven week, you will be warned. Failure to pay taxes three Elven weeks in a row will result in you losing the rights to your house until further notice. Should a season ((RL month)) pass with no taxes being paid, your house will be cleared and re-sold, so do not forget. These taxes will go toward funding trade, defence, and special events for the nation so by everyone playing their part, the nation will greatly improve and benefit those who reside in it. Thank you for taking the time to read this message, and please retain it for future reference. From the desk of the Minister of Economics, Alvarius Kashi. 。◕‿‿◕。 Hawk Whitestorm 715 Share Posted February 15, 2012 Hawk sees the notice, and hopes there is still a large house for purchase in the noble district. [[i am still in the hospital at the moment, therefore I cannot actually get in game and reserve/buy a house.]]
Zayden (Znes6) 17 Share Posted February 20, 2012 (( I would just like to make a suggestion, why not make the taxes once a month and just quadruple the price? It make it less of a major hassle for everyone. And the punishments would still be the same just make it like this; 1 week after not paying monthly tax=Notice 2 weeks after not paying monthly tax=Warning 3 weeks after not paying monthly tax=Loss of house rights If they haven't payed the tax by the time new taxes are collected(next month)=forclosure It's just a suggestion, I think it would help out town members a lot because they won't have to pay taxes EVERY week. It'll be good for you as well because you won't have to collect taxes every week and it will not increase the amount of taxes you have to collect. It's also a good thing for you because more people will come to your town because of the less time consuming taxes. It's like in real life; would you like to pay taxes every week? No, that's why they make it once a month. I hope you take this into consideration :D ))

Once that happens both the cost of taxes and the frequency of them will change. ))

Nico 121 Share Posted February 24, 2012 (( Home-Owners please note this, If you fail to complete your weekly payments for more then 4 weeks your house may be taken away. If you wish to pay the due amount after 4 weeks there will be a severe fee.))
Althos Silverblade 42 Author Share Posted February 25, 2012 *Another note is pinned underneath the previous one* This is a formal notice the the tax system will shortly be changed. Upon the beginning of the next season [[RL month]] taxes will be charged per season, instead of per Elven week. This suggestion has struck me as both useful and beneficial. The taxes prices will be altered however. Houses that are next to the river or the demolished theatre, are now 2400 per season. All other large houses, are now 2000 per season. As taxes are required less often, we assume that you will be able to keep up to date with whether or not you have paid. This means that after a season of not paying your taxes, your house will be stripped from your ownership and you WILL have to but the house back. However it will cost less that if you were buying it for the first time, how much less will be decided at that time. Of course we are sure that that will never happen so there is no need to worry. Finally, I would like to thank everyone for keeping calm and collected during these times of conflict. As a quick side note, taxes received will be going toward two things as of now. Some will be going toward the forts around the nation as well as the city defences, and some will be going into a stockpile so that it may be used for the upcoming bazaar area. More information on the Bazaar will doubtless come in good time. From the desk of the Minister of Economics, Alvarius Kashi
