Bearblock 1 Share Posted February 16, 2012 Out-Of-Character: Minecraft Account Name: Bearblock Did you attend minecon and sign up at the LOTC booth?: No, I didn't visit MineCon because I live in Europe and found it too expensive to go there. How old are you?: I am 14 years old. Time-Zone/Country of Residence: GMT+1, Netherlands (West Europe) Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: Yes, on servers like this I always try to have the best language and make very little grammar mistakes, even though English is not my main language. Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I am a young boy, although I am quite high in school already. I really like drawing and history. I plan on studying Archaeology in a few years when I go to university. I am also a somewhat skilled writer (In my opinion, ofcourse.) How much time could you be on the server weekly?: I think I could be atleast 2 or 3 hours per day, the moments I don't have much schoolwork. When I have a lot to do for school I tend to be online atleast 1 hour still, on holidays and weekends I can be online up to 8 hours a day, but I most likely won't do that. What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you.: I have been on many roleplay servers, some better than the others. To me, roleplaying means that you create your own character and have your character do something, from surviving on a island to adventuring. I have played both minecraft server roleplays and forum writing roleplays. In your own Words, describe what Metagaming and Powergaming are. Metagaming is simply that you use information for your character that he/she could not possibly know, for example: Someone telling you coords to someone's house, followed by you going there and stealing from here. Powergaming is (I think) somewhat the same as godmodding. You take decisions for other players, and you don't give him a chance to do anything. Example: Bob (me): I will bring you to jail! Charles: *pulls out sword* Then you have to defeat me! Bob: No, I caught you already. What do you expect this server will be like?: I hope this server to have a nice, active community, impressive buildings and fun roleplay. I really enjoy roleplaying on minecraft server and when you have more players the roleplaying will increase. What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: I have played for a long time on a few servers: - Honorcraft, I played here for 6 months and then it got shutdown. - Aretecraft, A true roleplay server, it shut down because of a lack of money and donations. - Honorcraft Reloaded. Same staff and community as the old one, I still play here but I just missed roleplay so I decided to seek a new roleplay server. Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: Yes, I have. How did you hear about us?: I asked some friends for a minecraft roleplay server and both answered me to check out this server. Have you voted for the Lord of the Craft on Minestatus? Which vote number were you? Yes I have, and I must honestly tell you I didn't see a number, but when I go there now the adress bar says id=4137 so I am assuming that is my number. What is your The Lord Of Craft forum account name?: Bearblock In-Character: Character Name: Grakor sounds like a nice name to me. I don't know if I am supposed to think up a last name too. If so, please inform me of this and I will think of a fitting last name. What is your Race?: I chose to be part of the orc race. Biography(This should include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): Grakor is a traditional orc, combative, aggressive, big, very strong. He was born in one of the smaller settlements, nonetheless raised like all other orc children. Grakor prefers the warhammer and maul in combat, because he can use all his force to smash open skulls with these weapons. Grakor also has a good view on art and architecture, he is one of the better constructors of his clan. He doesn't only build homes, buildings and walls, but also weapons like rams and catapults, not as good as the more intelligent races like the humans, however. Grakor has a dark gray tinted skin. He is of average lenght. He comes from a nomadic bloodline, however he prefers to stay in settlements instead of travelling. He wears leather clothing, he is bald and he also doesn't wear a helm. Grakor is still relatively young, aging only 34 years, or 136 orcish seasons. He is protective towards his family, clan and homeplace. Everything that comes too close or makes signs of harming his belongings will end up with several crushed bones, often not surviving this. Like all other orcs he eats and drinks a lot, therefor he hunts animals (or other races) on a daily base. Your characters ambitions: Grakor is a skilled engineer. He knows how to build any orcish siege weapon as well can he build impressive constructions around the settlement or town he resides in. Out in the Wilds, your character comes across a small cottage. Outside, there appears to be an elf struggling combat with two bandits. What does your character do? Because orcs and elves respect eachother, Grakor would run into the fight and attack the bandits. After he most likely defeats them, he would take anything they have that values to the orcs. He would not talk much with the elf but rather leave the area. Your character walks up to a shop in the middle of Al'Khazar. "Hello, my good sir!" says the shop owner. "What may I help you with today?" How does your character answer? This one feels like a trick question, because the wiki says 'Al'Khazar was blighted by Undead and is now uninhabitable. Anyone who enters the heart of the city will be killed within seconds.' If this is not a trick question, he would wonder why a human being just called him, a big and strong orc, a good sir. A screenshot of your skin: Other Information: I spend well over an hour writing this application, reading the rules, lore and the wiki and creating a skin. I really hope you will accept! Voak Thailen 28 Share Posted February 17, 2012 Denied This was a well written app, but there are just a few too many minor errors for me to accept it. Some slight expansion is all you should need to do. -There aren't really siege weapons in LotC. I've heard talk of implementing them in the future, but when that happens there will be an RP "invention" of it, most likely. Until then, your character would not know how to make them. Also, the generally accepted blunt weapon for LotC is the axe, since we don't use any sort of weapon mod. You can always call an in game axe a hammer(people call hoes staves, swords daggers, and the like), but I just wanted to let you know. -Please make sure to add a history of your character in the biography section. What you have is well written, but there needs to be some sort of backstory as well. I would also like to note that your character shouldn't be hunting the other sentient races. That requires a Villain Application, which you will not be able to get without playing for a little while first. -We're looking for more of an interplay between your characters and the others for the two response questions. Try having the other characters react to your character and then you react to them. This wouldn't happen in game, but it gives us an idea of how you will roleplay. And, while I appreciate your research, the last question is not a trick question. It is slightly outdated, so just assume it's a market in a human city. Best of luck on future attempts.
