Out-of-Character:

Minecraft Account Name:

36Diggaroo94

Did you attend minecon and sign up at the LOTC booth?:

I have not. I've owned Minecraft since Alpha, but haven't truly found a reason to dive deep into the gameplay. This server has caught my eye, though, for sure.

How old are you?:

I am seventeen, going to be eighteen in less than a month.

Time-Zone/Country of Residence:

EST/USA

Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?:

I like to think I've got a handle on my own language, but as human nature has it, I'm not perfect. Grammar sometimes can be an issue, but otherwise I can hold a good sentence structure.

Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself:

I've always saw myself as destined to be the geek I am today. Dad was an IBM guy, and naturally I grew up around technology. I've been playing video games since the age of two and a half years old. I've been roleplaying since ten. I see gaming as a way to escape to a place where I can do the impossible; slay dragons, craft amazing items, and become a legend. I usually look at it like this: Would I rather walk the dog? Or engage in swordplay and magical duels? Normally the second wins.

How much time could you be on the server weekly?:

Anytime after school (8:10am - 3:10pm). I normally work Tuesdays and Thursdays, though. I'm usually 100% free on weekends to game as much as I please, though.

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you.:

Roleplaying has always had a place in my heart. It is truly immersing yourself into a different body, a different mindset, and going along with it. Changing accents, behavioral quirks, and simply learning to become a different person is what roleplaying is all about.

I've roleplayed in Paper and Pencil Dungeon and Dragons and I've also roleplayed in Champions Online (a comic book-like MMORPG where you create your own hero.) I've gained a lot of experience from both areas. I've also done mild RPing within Terraria.

In your own Words, describe what Metagaming and Powergaming are.

Metagaming: It is the process of acting on what you know, not what your character knows. This goes against RPing, as it takes you out of your character. As it says in the wiki, it should be like reading a book; you cannot interact with the characters.

Powergaming: Making an action that you determine is already successful without giving the other person a chance to react to the given action. It generally ruins the other person's fun since they have no say in the matter of what happens to their character.

What do you expect this server will be like?:

Detailed is the best word that comes to mind. This seems to be the most organized and successful RPing Minecraft server I've ever witnessed. Not to put expectations on the server, but from what I can see I'm hoping it's going to be as good as I think it will be.

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?:

I have never played on other servers other than simple 2-4 person servers I've hosted for my friends and family to play on. The servers have always been survival mode.

Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?:

No griefing, stay in character, no min-maxing, be respectful. I think I've got it

How did you hear about us?:

I was simply browsing the Minecraft Forums. Came across this whole project and my jaw dropped.

Have you voted for the Lord of the Craft on Minestatus? Which vote number were you?

I have not yet. I believe that I will vote after I've had a chance to experience the server first-hand. It seems silly to vote for something I have never had the chance to experience, in my opinion.

What is your The Lord Of Craft forum account name?:

Danieval

In-Character:

Character Name:

Danieval Falithir

What is your Race?:

Human. I always preferred the less "shinier" races, so to speak. Humans are the least expected to do great deeds, whereas Orcs are seen as strong warriors, Dwarves as brilliant miners, and Elves as magnificient beings of beauty. Humans have none of those. Rather, Humans are the jack of all trades. One thing that they have over the other races, I believe, is spirit. Even through the darkest hours of our days, humans have always shined their dim light, hopeful for victory. For success.

Biography(This should include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):

Age: 23

Weight: 167 lbs.

Height: 6'2"

Hair Color: Orange-brown

Hair Length: Down to shoulders. Normally slicked back to keep hair out of eyes.

Body Tone: Athletic. Muscular, but not large.

Eye Color: Hazel

Danieval Falithir was born into a lower-class family close to Dunwood. His father was but a simple peasant, a farmer and carpenter. His mother was known for her medicines, as she assisted many of the nearby inhabitants with their illnesses. They themselves were not of halfling blood, but their lifestyles matched that of the halflings so well that they were easily accepted by their shorter counterparts.

Danieval had been put to work ever since he was born. His father worked him day and night in the fields, plowing and working the land to reap the harvest in time so that they could survive another day in their hard-working lives. Through this work, Danieval has become physically fit. His endurance outmatches most his age and, while no where near the true strength of an Orc, Danieval's strength shines brighter than most others.

Through hunting and living off the land, Danieval has become an excellent marksman and woodsman. He has learned the names of herbs and could name them and their attributes on the spot. Even swordplay is something Danieval knows a good deal about. His father trained him in armed combat at a young age, so that Danieval could protect his family just as his father protects Danieval and his mother.

The one thing that Danieval has had a hard time grasping is magic. He could never understand such a complex subject, and would much rather have a sword in hand than a spell book. It seemed silly to most others; a human incapable of understanding magic? Yet, Danieval is fond of simplicity, and he just does not deem it simple in his eyes.

At the age of 17, Danieval decides it is time for him to set out into the world on his own. He had grown weary of farm work, bored of the land he knew inside and out, and anxious to explore the wide and varied world of Aegis. With nothing more than his bow, his sword, and traveling gear and rations, Danieval sets out into the world, seeking adventure at every turn. Little does Danieval understand, adventure also means heart-pounding battles, dangerous encounters, and learning to adapt to lands if he wishes to survive in the land of Asulon.

Your characters ambitions:

With the way my biography has ended, I believe it leaves Danieval very open to changes in his goals and ambitions. The most basic and obvious goal for him is to explore the places he's only heard stories about.

He hopes to one day set foot into the mystical nation of Malinor, exploring the elvish culture and witnessing the great trees they reside in. Their love of the earth around them has captured his heart as a farmer's son.

Danieval wishes to step foot inside the great dwarven halls of Kal'Urguan, a place he has heard stories of from his father. While not an excavator himself, he hopes to one day come to understand the minerals of Aegis and their infinite purposes from the stout dwarves.

While not keen on their living style, Danieval believes that he could learn much from the Orcs of Krugmar. He understands the Orcs are great warriors and fighters, and he hopes that by either firsthand experience or by simply examining them that he too could learn how to fight with the ferocity of an Orc.

Through his exploration of these different areas of Asulon, Danieval is certain to come across many different types of adventures, whether they be small or grand in scale.

Out in the Wilds, your character comes across a small cottage. Outside, there appears to be an elf struggling combat with two bandits. What does your character do?

Danieval squints his eyes in attempt to get a better view of the situation from a tree he jumped behind after hearing the commotion. His back hard against the rough bark of the tree, he peers at the three combatants. Danieval's hazel eyes instantly recognize the look upon the elf's sweaty face.

Pure fear and terror.

Without a moment to lose, Danieval tears his bow off his quiver from his back and prepares an arrow. Keeping to the shadows and shade of the trees, he hastily sidesteps from his position. He knows if he hesitates for too long, the bandits may very well be the last thing the struggling elf may ever see. Pulling back the string of his bow, Danieval inhales and holds his breath, aiming with one eye. The world around him begins to fade from his vision. The sounds of metal clashing against metal becomes muted. The only thing that remains in Danieval's vision is the two bandits.

Knowing that this may be the only opportunity for an ambush, Danieval carefully checks to make sure everything is aligned; his straddling stance upright, his arms steady and unswaying, and his arrow pointed deliberately inbetween the rib cage where he believes the bandit's heart is. Without a moment to lose, Danieval releases the bowstring.

He watches as the arrow flies gracefully through the air, racing towards its target with deadly velocity.

The arrow pierces the bandit just as he raises his weapon to strike down the elf. His eyes go wide, more in surprise than pain. The other bandit and the elf stop their combat as they watch him stumble a bit, grunting in pain. The projectile had missed its mark, landing an inch or so away from Danieval's desired destination.

Cursing under his breath, Danieval takes no time to pity his poor aim when it is not welcome and instead quickly draws another arrow from his quiver. The uninjured bandit quickly turns to Danieval's location and raises his sword up in a bellowing battle cry. He begins charging towards Danieval, prepared to take vengeance upon him for hurting his ally. Danieval wastes not even a second, letting loose another arrow into the air. It flies towards the bandit and makes contact with his thigh. The bandit stumbles and falls to the ground from the impact.

Putting his bow back on his back, Danieval hastily takes advantage of the situation, charging towards the fallen bandit. He draws his shortsword from his sheathe at his side, gritting his teeth as he sprints. The bandit was already beginning to stand up slowly, recovering from the arrow. Before he manages to stand up fully, Danieval lets out a battle cry and, as he gets within reaching distance of the bandit, brings his knee up to meet the bandit's chin. It makes solid impact, and he feels the jaw bone of the bandit shatter from the assault. The bandit goes flying onto his back roaring and writhing in pain. Without taking a moment to pat himself on the back for a successful attack, Danieval quickly spins, raising his blade above his head and then bringing it swiftly downwards. The blade slides straight through the bandits chest and into the ground.

In that moment, time seems to slow. The bandit's eyes go wide and lose their liveliness as his spirit passes on. Each panting breath Danieval takes seems to imitate a deep breathing exercise. Every time. Every time he's had to kill, time seemed to draw on and on, allowing Danieval's mind to take a photographic memory of the death-dealing blow.

Just as quick as it begin, the slowing of time ends and Danieval pulls his sword free of the bandit's chest.

As Danieval turns, his natural reflexes react just in time. His body suddenly jerks to the right before he could understand what happened. The bandit with the arrow in his back had managed to recover and make an overhead attack at Danieval. Unfortunately, Danievals reflexes were not sharp enough, and the bandit's blade tore through the side of his upper body and gashes him. He cries out in pain as he falls to his side onto the ground, his blood staining the grass under him.

The bandit does not show pause in his assault, and quickly follows up with a downward thrust at Danieval. Barely managing to parry his attack from his position on the ground, Danieval rolls to the side. The bandit goes in for another assault, and Danieval raises his sword to parry it. As the two blades meet, the impact sends his sword flying from his hand and off a couple meters away from he and the bandit. Panic arises in Danieval's eyes as the bandit gives a rough chuckle at the turn of events. Frantically trying to push himself away from the bandit on his back, he knows he cannot escape him fast enough. The bandit raises his sword to deliver a finishing blow and Danieval closes his eyes.

He hears the skin-rending sound of metal cutting through flesh. Surprisingly enough to Danieval, it was not his skin. He opens his eyes to see the elf who had been in battle with the bandits pulling his sword from the back of the bandit. Panting from the fight, he sheathes his blade and extends his hand out towards Danieval. "I know not who you are, stranger, but you saved my life."

Danieval, still attempting to slow down his heart rate with deep breaths, gives a small smile of victory and grabs the extended hand of the elf. "I am but thankful I came along when I did. From what I witnessed, I did not think you would last much longer," replies Danieval as the elf pulls him to his feet. "I mean no disrespect, though."

The elf smiles, his skin glistening with sweat, "None taken. Come, I know a few medicinal treatments for that wound of yours. The least I can for the person who saved my life is treat his wounds." Together, the two walk wearily into the elf's cottage.

Your character walks up to a shop in a quiet market. "Hello, my good sir!" says the shop owner. "What may I help you with today?" How does your character answer?

Danieval looks to his left and right to make sure no one is listening before speaking in a hushed tone, "I believe you can, but first we must speak in private." The shop owner arches an eyebrow in question, but replies, "... Alright. Come, we'll speak within the shop."

The two walk into the shop known as "Jobeq's General Goods" and sit down at the wooden table. Danieval's normally calm face shows nothing but seriousness as he tosses a large pouch onto the middle of the table between Jobeq, the shop owner, and himself. Jobeq eyes the pouch suspiciously as he reaches out for it. "Just as you asked, this is one of his belongings."

Jobeq takes the pouch and then opens it, pulling out a necklace. It is of iron chains and a strange upside down spikey star symbol in the middle. "I see... How exactly did you get this from him?"

Danieval leans back in his chair as he recalls the experience. "I can't say it was a simple task." Rubbing his chin, Danieval continues, "The bastard had the whole place rigged with traps. Magical traps."

Jobeq nods as he listens, "Sounds about right. Velimont would never leave his tower unguarded."

"I can't even begin to tell you how close I was to being squashed like an insect between two brick walls," Danieval shakes his head at the memory. "I managed to eliminate the guards silently as I made my way up through the tower. Unfortunately, it will be obvious to Velimont that his men have been assassinated. It will only be a matter of time before he comes looking for that necklace."

Jobeq rolls the necklace's chain through his fingers, "You're right. We'll have to act fast. It is now or never."

Danieval gets up from his seat and Jobeq quickly follows. They walk quickly to the back of the shop to a bookcase. "I just wanted to thank you, Danieval." Jobeq says as he searches for a specific book. "Velimont's curse has been a burden to my family for far too long. I can't bear to do his dirty work any longer."

"Don't even mention it, Jobeq. You've been a friend to me ever since you helped me find my way throughout this massive city. I'm afraid I've still yet to grow accustomed to Al'Khazar. The very least I can do is assist a friend when he needs assistance most."

Jobeq smiles as he finds the green and gold-trimmed book he was looking for and pulls it, the bookcase sliding to the side and opening a secret passage, "You are far too kind, Danieval. You always have been." The two walk into the cobblestone and stone passage and walk for about five minutes to reach a big room with an altar in the middle. Jobeq places the necklace onto the altar and takes his smithing hammer in his hand. Danieval watches intently as the strange runes on the altar begin to glow as Jobeq raises the hammer over his head. He brings the hammer down hard with a grunt, shattering the amulet.

A bright light bursts from the shattered necklace and spirits fly out of it, wailing gleefully as they ascend higher and higher in the cavern until they are seen no more. Jobeq looks to Danieval and smiles wide. "It is done!... Finally, my soul is mine and mine alone. And my ancestors can now pass on. Thank you so much, Danieval."

Danieval smiles, but then his face grows serious, "Don't thank me yet, old friend. Velimont knows you destroyed the amulet by now. He'll be coming."

"You're right. We must prepare for his arrival." Jobeq pulls out his crossbow and grins, "I'll be sure to give him a warm welcoming." Danieval nods and the two walk back out of the room together, mentally preparing themselves to battle Velimont the Warlock.

((OOC Notes: Velimont is a powerful warlock who disguises his evil nature by being charitable. In actuality, he takes the souls of a single bloodline after they've served him and suck their souls from their body to increase his own power. His plan is to rule over Al'Khazar eventually after gaining enough power. Every time he drains a soul, his life expectancy is increased.

Velimont had been taking the souls of Jobeq's bloodline for many centuries. Velimont's amulet was the only thing binding his family to this curse, for many years ago, Jobeq's ancestor who was bound to die from famine made a contract with Velimont. Velimont would provide for him, and in return his soul belonged to Velimont. Jobeq was born into this curse and was afraid he could never escape... until now.

Also, as another note, I have no plans to actually continue this in-game. It is completely fictional for the sake of showing my RPing capabilities.))

A screenshot of your skin:

I'm hardly artistic, so I will be borrowing a skin that I hope is acceptable as a RP skin for a Human Ranger-like character.
