Character Name:Grag'nar Wolfbrother

What Race are you?:Orc

What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race):

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):Grag’nar is the son of Morak’gutar, a former Wolfbrother Shaman, and Maggar. As an infant, he was found alone and on the brink of starving alongside his deceased parents, the victims of a plague-like disease that hit the far reaches of Krugmar and then later was no more. Gul’thar, a hunter, was the one who found the young Grag’nar and he raised him not only as his own child, but to follow in his footsteps, as a hunter. He was wet-nursed by Gul’thar’s mate, Aruuna, who was also an avid shaman.

Grag’nar grew up witty, not only in the art of hunting, but more-so often in the art of Shamanism. He was clever, quick and obedient. But soon after his tenth birthday, Gul’thar, his adoptive father, was injured during a hunt and became violent towards Grag’nar, beating him on a regular basis. As the years progressed, the young Grag’nar wished to liberate himself from his abusive surroundings and travel, but these were all hopes and dreams. Aruuna, Guk’thar’s mate, was wearing old and was slowly going senile, yet continued to practice and teach Grag’nar the arts of Shamanism, even if Gul’thar didn’t like it.

As Grag’nar grew into a fine young man at the age of eighteen, though Gul’thar would continue his lashings and beatings. The only way to liberate himself from the clutches of this oppressive man was to either see he was to be no more, or attempt an escape. One night, Aruuna woke Grag’nar from a sound sleep, she was delusional and was rambling to him about how Gul’thar was to die sooner than later. It wasn’t until Grag’nar was suffering from crazed dreams about murdering his oppressor and waking up to find his bloodied corpse tied to a beam used for the traditional huts, arrows laden the corpse and deep wounds were scattered about the body. Grag’nar’s clothes, face and hands were thick with the blood of Gul’thar. In a panic, he searched for Aruuna, but she was no where to be found. Fearing a severe punishment from the tried, Grag’nar fled.

For another five years, Grag’nar would run. A nomad. Avoiding the area of his youth and living with or around no others. He would soon begin delving into his old shamanistic teachings. He would learn about the elements as Aruuna would have taught him, he learned a lot about shamanism by living alone, allowing time to heal wounds and allow for reflection. By the time he was in his late twenties, Grag’nar was a new orc. Despite all his running and fear from the past, he ventured to return to the tribe he so feared an imminent punishment from. Upon returning, he soon learned of the fate of Aruuna. She became the matriarch of the tribe and it’s people. Though her condition was worse than it was so many years ago. She had became a blind and babbling wise-woman. Grag’nar became fully immersed in the old ways of the shaman and, of course, the tribe. It was not long after, Aruuna, as well as the spirits, finally forgave Grag’nar for what happened in the past. It was only a year later when the spirits finally came for Aruuna, but she was not alone. Grag’nar was at her side as she laid dying, each breath becoming ever so softer. It was now when Aruuna leaned over to Grag’nar and whispered to him, explaining the foundations of their faith, their teachings and most importantly, his past. It was now, at twenty-nine years old, did the young shaman learn about the fate of his true parents, the destructiveness of the plague and, of course, the mystery upon it’s origin.

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond?Grag’nar slowly approaches. “Hey! witch-doctor! you gunna do the voodoo on us? Bahahaha” one of the armed warriors chuckled, the other along side him. The halfling, battered and bruised pleaded with Grag’nar. “Please, can we just leave? I don’t want you to get yourself hurt over my ordeals!”. Grag’nar, calm and assertive, raised his left hand and held out a palm, as if to ask for a shake. The armed warriors looked at each other and chuckled, one forcingly shoved his hand into Grag’nar’s, giving him a big shake. But it was then when the laughter stopped. In that short moment, Grag’nar was able to show the life-path of the armed warrior, and ill-fate was his.

He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response?Grag’nar shakes his head and speaks in a soft voice. “I need nothing as I have everything and yet, nothing, at the same time.” The man looks at Grag’nar strangely. “Boy, you’ve gone off your rocker, haven’t yeh?”, Grag’nar cracks and smile and chuckles slightly. “Something like that” he exclaims as his slowly walks up the way.

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?:Grag’nar merely ignores the loot. It is not the shaman way to take that which is not a gift.

Afterall, would it truly go against the good will of these people to harm a shaman? Of course. You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?:”I have left my days of violence back on the sands of my adolescence. Though I will offer you all my blessing and good will. Glazug Votar, my friends, Glazug Votar!

Good morning sir, you haven't been denied. You have been accepted. Welcome to the server of LotC.

This is one of the best apps I've seen, its great to have a veteran come to this server. I hope you enjoy the server and bring much to it.

~~~~~
Note: Your Powergaming definition is neither right nor wrong. Its the one everyone thinks it is, and it is what you say but we are looking for the other definition. Just check some other apps to see, so you don't do it in-game.
Of course, I will let it pass, the rest of your application shows a deep knowledge of role-play and you demonstrated a very deep knowledge of the server's lore.
~~~~~

Once again, welcome Grag'nar Wolfbrother, bless this world with your knowledge and it will be thankful.
