Minecraft Account Name:

Winddrake1801

How old are you?:

I am twenty one years old.

Time-Zone/Country of Residence:

Ireland, GMT +0

Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?:

Yes I am fluent in English, as it is my first language. I am also very competent in it's proper usage.

Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself:

My name is Sean. I'm a student studying science at university. I love playing and listening to music, I also make some really bad attempts at composing some of my own.

How much time could you be on the server weekly?:

Well due to things like assignments and projects that I have to do in my course I can't say that I can be on for very stable times. However I would try to play for at least an hour every day if I had the chance.

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you:

Roleplaying is where you take on the identity of a person you have made up or has been made up for you. You essentially become them in mind and spirit. You react as they would react and talk as they would talk regardless of your out-of-character accent or mannerisms. You try to immerse yourself in their world and way of life.

What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?:

Meta-Gaming is where you take information your in-game-character couldn't possibly know, i.e. something that you learned while out of character on the forums or chat, and use that information to your advantage in the world. This could be as simple as knowing a persons name before you had spoken to them in game to organizing meet-ups at specific coordinates.

In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is:

In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Gaming is:

Power-gaming is where you take away the oppurtunity for roleplay from another charcter by forcing an action upon them. e.g. player1* warps cloth around player2*'s mouth so they can't speak.

What do you expect this server will be like?:

I expect that it will be fun and immersive. Other servers that I had tried lacked depth in the role play experience I hope this server is different. I'm hoping that the other people on the server will take the roleplay seriously but will still have fun with it.

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?:

pvp.madgaming.eu and I didn't leave I am an administrator on the server and still have fun there. It's not a roleplay server but it is still very difficult to engage in server activities like factions without becoming biased towards some of the players.

I have played on other roleplay servers but can't for the life of me remember them, guess it shows how much of an impression they made.

Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?:

Yes I have done all three.

Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server,

Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules:

I do.

How did you hear about us?:

I heard about it from another admin on the server I play on, troopermatthew, who knows Tythus in real life, I think they randomly met on the bus or tube one day.

Have you voted for the Lord of the Craft on Minestatus? Which vote number were you?:

Yes I have three times 3996, 343 and 765

In-Character:

Character Name:

Toril Muddruff is my name, and singing songs is my game.

What Race are you?:

I'm a Human of course can't you tell?

What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race):

Ah I'm just an ordinary man, nothing special nothing grand.

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):

Ah "The Tale of Toril Muddruff" not so much a song more of a ballad. Normally I wouldn't like to sing about meself, I haven't had that much of an exciting life at all. But if You'd like to hear it then sure. Ahem*

'T'all started in the land known as Oren, you see,

There was a kindly small family, Me parents and me,

Me Father an' mother would work dawn 'til dusk,

And to ne'er a man would they kick up a fuss.

A small little farm where they grew enough food,

and with what was left over, fine ales there were brewed,

Far from the towns but not close to wild,

They settled and planned how to bring up their child.

Oh he'll be a gallant hero,

said me mother with glee,

Not at all said me father,

An ole farmer like me.

But slowly it dawned I couldn't care not a bit,

To a life of violence I just would not commit,

and equally so it ne'er crossed me brain,

to spend me final years, harvesting grain.

No the life of the wanderer I was desperate to be,

To live a full life, all those wonders to see,

I'd write them all down and then sing with my lute,

To relive the epics, tall tales and heroes to boot.

Yes a bard I became,

And a good one with that,

I could rattle off rhymes,

at the drop of a cat.

Heh heh, needs a bit of work I know. Hard to make your average farm kid story sound interesting though isn't it. It's true what I said though. I grew up on a small farm in Oren until I was bout 5 or 6, but then o' course we had to flee 'cause of the War of the Undead. We moved a lot back then don't really remember much of it. Mostly remember me mother and father being scared, kept telling me everything would be alright, wish I could remember it though would have made a good story.

After the whole Drauchriem thing we set sail for the new world. Man I loved them ships. The sailers singin' songs and the stories we'd hear of the champions at night were the first thing that got me into the life of a bard. We landed in Asulon after what seemed like forever. After a while they managed to find a nice spot for a farm just a little out of the way of Alrus. They grew grain and made their own ales. Though I don't think they won any tasting competitions.

My father wanted me to become a farmer like him when I was older, but I just couldn't see meself in it. I wanted to see the world ya know.

I used to sneak down to the local taverns at night and hear the men singing songs about heroes and wars and great battles. It was inspiring stuff, and while it never made me want to take up the sword and charge off into battle, it certainly put me off a farmers life.

I knew what I wanted to do with my life when an old bard came to the town one night. I think I was twelve at the time. His songs were so captivating and yet he played on a raggedy ole lute, thing looked older than he was. I caught him as he left the tavern the next morning and asked him how he could play and sing the way he did. He told me this " Music's got to be in your heart boy, learning to sing and learning to play will do naught but help you bring out the music already inside, but if you haven't got that you wont go far." I asked him, did you ever want to ride off and fight like the men in your songs? and he says to me "Surely not, we need the men to sing the songs of the deeds of others, as much as we need men to do the deeds. If not for the singers who would keep their legend alive, if not for music to inspire the soul and to bring life and vibrance to the world, would there be any point in fighting for it?"

"Here!" he says as he takes out a very new looking lute "Got this as a gift in the last town I played in, not a great sound but it'll get ya started... they really don't make em like they used to anymore" He said to me as he patted his raggedy old lute.

Changed me life that day I knew in me heart more than anything I wanted to write the epics that would come to pass in my lifetime.

At eighteen. Me ole da sat me down. He said to me "Son I know this farmin' business aint what you want. So me an your mother decided it's time for you to get out and see the new world. The longer you stay here the harder it'll be to leave. You have to follow your dream son! Who knows maybe someday someone will write a song about you, Toril Muddruff the greatest bard in Aluson!" They gave me enough minas to get me a few night in an inn before I could start busking or playing at taverns and I went out into the open world.

What is your Character's ambitions?:

Oh I wish to write the most beautiful, and elegant songs of the goings on in Asulon, from the mundane skirmishes to the epic wars. I want to sing of the rise of nations and the fall of kings. To tell tales of the lucky chances that turned the tides, and great laments of heroes defeats.

What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc):

I'd never go anywhere without my trusted lute. Sure promise to play for a man while he works and he'll usually throw you a few bits and bobs for your troubles.

What is one of your Character's most skilled talents?

Well I dont want to keep harping on about my lute playing, I guess I have some talents in farming. I may not have cared for it but I did pick up enough from me ole da to know me way around a farm.

Open-Response-Questions

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond?

He runs as fast as he can to the nearest settlement to raise the alarm. Hoping that a guard or a few of the locals will rush out to help. After the halfling has been saved he would write a song about their bravery and promise to sing it in the neighbouring villages.

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response?

Ah good evening to ya sir. I'm not looking to buy right now, you just look like the type o' fella who would know a lot of people in this town. I was wondering if you could point me to an inn keeper or tavern owner. I'm a bit low on funds these days, perhaps if I can make some money tonight I'll be back to buy one of your fine shirts.

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?:

The life of a bard is always tough, you never know when the next meal or minas will come from. On the other hand a bard with a gold sword would definitely look out of place. He would check around to make sure the place had been abandoned for a while and then takes the iron bars to sell for a hot meal and a bath.

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond?

Greetings fellow men, please help me. I have been wandering lost and dazed for a few days now. Bandits attacked me and left me for dead. Please I dont wish to be a burden but if you could spare some food and warmth I would be most grateful. I am a bard my business takes me all around Asulon. I could sing songs of your generosity spreading the word about your trading camp. I could entertain ya as well once I get me strength back.

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?:

And I will raise that offer! I am Toril Muddruff. Reknowned Bard *shhh* well... a bard. I promise to write an epic tale with the names of all the men who volunteer to help make this village safe again. I assure you they will hear of your deeds all around Asulon!
