Sawses 58 Share Posted March 14, 2012 I have to agree with Mrsmooth. We do need it on, but I do maintain wishful thinking for a way for good RPers to have a choice. :
Walter 22 Share Posted March 14, 2012 On. Realistically, people do not have invisible force fields protecting them from the dangers of society. LOTC is shooting for realism, might as well set all of the world as PvP - enabled.
Skippy 2466 Share Posted March 14, 2012 Turn off PvP.
Cyndikate 2303 Share Posted March 19, 2012 I say turn on PVP. Without PVP then war claims are pointless. No one wants to emote their fights with 30 other people, which is Boring.
Acornlad 206 Share Posted March 19, 2012 Leave PVP on. I have already seen people power-game during Roleplay fighting. I have personally encountered a man who made threats to me -RP'ly- and I was about to fight him and he messages me telling me he is unarmed and will only RP fight, the fight would probably have been largely power-gamed in his benefit. Also, turning off PVP would eliminate the point of War Claims and also totally destroy the economy. The reason it would destroy the economy is because the economy is largely based on mining, why do people mine? To get ores and diamonds. Why do people get ores and diamonds? To make weapons. Why do people make weapons? To fight. Why do people fight? PVP is enabled.
Aislin 4354 Share Posted March 19, 2012 This is sort of a yes/no thing for me. Yes 1. Ban reports would decrease 2. RP would increase 3. Take the emphasis off gearnuts and horders. No 1. Guards would no longer have the benefit of fear over criminals 2. Would allow powergamers to powergame in RP 3. PvP duels can be lots of fun. 4. People would run to no-PvP zones (if available) and powergame-RP There is no ideal scenario for this as there are holes in every scenario. I think the best would be to have PvP only for arenas and designated areas of conflict (wars, wilds areas far from cities etc).
