MajesticOwyn 334 Share Posted March 7, 2012 *You notice a rather large note pinned to the message board that stands in Hanseti's main square* I come to you all today as a concerned Citizen and Sariant of the Teutonic Order. Over the last few years I have noticed our stocks dwindle and many of our tasks not being seen to efficiently. Resources are low, food stocks even lower. Our great city can accomplish so much more with some refining. I feel that with the war over that we should start focusing on more problems at home. Here is what I propose: -A larger farm system, or a more organized one. As of now the farms are barely enough to feed ourselves, we should have an abundance of food. -A larger pen. I made a trip near Alras a few months back and noticed that their infrastructure puts our to shame. We must make an effort to breed and raise animals more aggressively so that we may take advantage of them. Feathers, leather and meat must all be stockpiled for the harsh winters to come. -Building projects. We must enlist the aid of all citizens and order members alike so that we can finalize things such as the cities defenses, roads and houses. -Expansion of the warehouse to accommodate the influx of resources. -A new mine should be opened. I thought hard on a location, and propose Dovaskjor as it is abandoned. -Duties should be assigned to every Sariant to benefit the order. We are some of the most elite soldiers in Asulon, but that only goes as far as our supplies. If we work hard now, there will be less work later. The war is over, but more may come. I wish for us to be more then prepared for anything because I love this nation, and I will protect it until my dying breath. I volunteer personally to assist in any of these tasks, and I hope that my fellow citizens and brothers see what must be done. This is open to the public, so please, post any ideas you have to better our nation, and I will add them to the list. Signed, Haleth Morin Master Blacksmith and Sariant of the Teutonic Order
Patthebakr 10 Share Posted March 7, 2012 My Lord and Hochmeister, I came to this nation two years ago with General Viadar. From then on out I have been a loyal citizen of Hanseti, not only caring for her crops and livestock, but also fighting in the battles we've had with Renatus. The city has doubled in size since I arrived here, and I believe once this business with Renatus is finished, it will start expanding even more. Prospective citizens visit daily, and we are dangerously running out of room for new buildings, such as houses and shops. On the other hand, no-one has been tending the crops. Whoever the head farmer is has been busy. Most of the wheat has been fully grown without harvest for the past 3 elven days. We have plenty of food stocked up, but that will run out eventually. I believe that I have a solution to both of these problems. If you have been a little west of the city, you probably came across a large, flat, tundra like area, I have been told is called Wolves Edge. I believe that relocating the farms to this area would be beneficial to the cities expansion and to food production. No offense, but whoever set up the farms we have now didn't know much about growing crops. If we use rows of crops instead of large plots, we can increase growth time from long weeks to merely days! I know you must be concerned about how this will function in times of war. The tundra isn't the most defensible location, you know. We could solve this by keeping a small amount of farms inside the city, in the protection of the mountains. We could even build tunnels from the farmhouses in Wolves Edge to the Hanseti Storehouse for discrete movement of food supplies. The large plains of Wolves Edge are also a great place to find livestock. It would be much easier to keep a herd of cows in a fenced in area instead of a barn, as they tend to die from starvation in the barn ((AKA glitching into the walls and suffocating)). It may also seem that New Sorovitz would take care of this problem, but that town is strictly dedicated to all forms of production. With the new farms and ranches, food production would become a profitable task. The excess food we make would be a great export to other nations, and what man doesn't enjoy a steak to go along with his bread? All I am requesting are a few farms and farmhouses built in the country-side. It is an easy and cost effective way to get foodstuffs. All that needs to be provided by the government of Hanseti is the land. I and the other farmers are willing to provide the materials. I'd like to remind you this is just a suggestion from a farmer, but I do know my way around a homestead. I have been a citizen of Hanseti through the early days, and I wish nothing more than for her to thrive. I don't expect this to take effect anytime soon, if at all. The Renatians are straining supplies as it is. As said before, I would be happy to help supply this project in the future, if you so decide to initiate it. If needs be, the other farmers would also agree with me on this subject matter. I sent this to Samuel a few months ago. The war effort must have taken all of his attention though. Jack was talking about opening a new mine in Timbermaw. I'll leave some more information later ((at school atm, don't wanna get caught)).
Patthebakr 10 Share Posted March 7, 2012 Farming- Already addressed the animals and crops. Building Projects - I would be joyful to help with public projects. I hope I can be trusted with te permission to do such things (( As I need perms and have been in Hanseti for a good two months, and fought in several battles)). If supplies are also needed, our store has plenty of food and other things just sitting around. We have some of the cheapest prices in the human kingdoms. I am also more than willing to make donations, there just isn't a way for me to do so, as my mortgage box is full and I have no keys for any other. Expansion of the warehouse to accommodate the influx of resources - Self explanatory. We should probably expand vertically to keep space for housing. New Mine - I agree that the old mine is way to small ((perms go like 12 blocks out)). Timbermaw seems to be a prime destination for a new mine, being close but out of the way of regular travelers. Duties should be assigned to every Sariant to benefit the order. We are some of the most elite soldiers in Asulon, but that only goes as far as our supplies. If we work hard now, there will be less work later. - Not being a sarient, I can't really make a suggestion, but as I said before, I'm willing to donate. ~ Garret Herz

It is my belief that no job should go undone, and there is no such thing as having too much of anything. Keep up the ideas my fellow Citizens.
