This all looks very well done Vaq, but now people have to donate 300-500 dollars to build taller structures (mind you I was never a fan of the y:40 limit either)? You have to understand, in order to build higher than normal limit players have to give the server at least $300! That is a lot of money-can't we avoid these perks that will cause a rift in rp and give perks that don't affect RP whatsoever? For instance Lym just suggested in an IM that we add more buddy pages to higher VIPs. It's simple, yet something peopled want, it doesn't affect RP so people can't really complain.

Anyways, I'll try and think of some useful and exclusive perks for Aether/Ender that also don't make RP feel like pay to win. I do hope though that the height limit thing doesn't stick around. I understand if everyone had it there would be lag, but that kind of exclusivity is unfair and there is no justification for it; if we can't use it fairly we'd be better off taking it out altogether until Mojang releases a patch that fixes the lag.

Monsters don't drop anything but their regular MC drops no iron bars, leather, or beef.

nice update Vaq. I can live with all the guilds minas going that can come back but the mobs are a little broken, 50xp per kill and no minas.

Also slightly depressed about the height limit as I had been looking forward to that

Uh........ I just got payed by my boss, I'm grounded for two weeks, and I lost every damned penny I had. I've been working for like nine IRL days, and just got payed.

Besides the mina reset and the build limit, I'm happy.

Don't see how preventing everyone from building giant skyscrapers is a break in RP, as I just stated it seems like it works as a control if anything :P seems everyone wants to jump on the "world's tallest monument's " ride. You can still enter buildings, and climb up all that way, you just can't build that High : \

You miss the main point he is trying to make. It doesn't make sense RPly to be able to build higher than everyone else simply because you payed money OOCly, as it is a pay-to-win perk. No matter what those VIPs do OOCly, they should still be equal to other players as far as RP is concerned, so either everyone gets permission to build that high or no one does. However, if everyone was able to build up to 256, the resulting lag would be terrible most likely, which is why I believe this perk was added. Personally, I think that only GMs and Admins should be able to build that high.

No one has QQ'd about the skills limit being 300 and 285 instead of 275 for other people, where is the RP reason for that? or the RP reason for why only VIP's can understand the inner workings of locks, Or why only VIP's can get land with out paying for it, or dig deeper, or have more npc's ect ect ect, Personally I think people need to realize they need Something to reward VIP's with, and that there is most definitely more game breaking perks they could add vs the whole "but he can build higher than me RP break RP break"

SOmething like build height really isn't that huge of a deal, I know for a fact nothing I'd ever make would need to be that tall, unless I was just building a straight up building on purpose, heck even a tower going that high is a bit excessive, 125 blocks for a tower is a bit excessive, specially on a RP server. Besides like I said, it's VIP only, this stops alot of people from building the tower of babble, and also it's the really expensive VIP's, you know, the ones that everyone is obviously going to have.

Seriously though, my point is people QQing about VIP, first off, you're already playing on a wonderful server with tons of awesome sauce to begin with, you don't even have to donate, but for those of us who do, we get some minor rewards. Absolutely nothing is stopping anyone from gaining these perks if they really wanted it, If you guys want to build giant huge outrageous skyscrapers "to teh gods!lululul" donate money, atleast you can help out the server while getting your RP breaking Game breaking rewards

(this isn't directed at the person I quoted, but more so to everyone complaining about VIP perks, there is a bunch of em out there, and I've been seeing QQing for a while now, about all sorts of things. As I said people need to remember it's simply a perk for helping em out, it's no different than say, getting a gun you can only get via a pre order code for a game that not everyone had the time or money to pre order. The Gm's and such have tried their best to keep these perks none game breaking and as I said they could put in far worse ones : | )

Alright first off let me say that I won't reply after this as I don't plan on creating a flame war.

Your first paragraph is asking why no one "QQ'd" over the 285/300 skill point increases and the plots of land, but the thing is people complain every day about them. Vaquxine is awesome for thinking to give the donators some nice perks to show for their generosity, but the thing is, it is called "donating" for a reason, not "buying perks". If it were my way I would have it so that, no matter how much you donated, the only perks you would get would be OOC perks such as a title on the forums and in OOC chat, although if that were to happen we would lose a LOT of "donators".

We are an RP server, so it doesn't make sense to have extra perks in game that affect RP simply for donating. You should have seen, if you didn't know about it, the argument that happened when Vaq mentioned the pixel trail for Aether VIPs for the first time, and the admins had to figure out a way to turn it into something that would be more RP until they eventually scrapped the idea, as far as I know. The point is that, as I have said already, there should be as few pay-to-win perks as possible as this is an RP server, and you could essentially donate 200 right off the bat before you are even whitelisted and therefore be at a huge advantage over a non-donator who had been playing for three months.

I admit that we need SOME pay-to-win perks, as they are the reason that many people donate, but I disagree with the fact that each VIP update we get offers more and more. Going off of this new update, I would prefer that people have to earn IN GAME the ability to build as high as 256. You are right in the fact that barely anyone reaches up to 128 in the first place and 256 is REALLY excessive, but it is the thought that counts. Look at the tree city of Normandor for instance, they built the canopy of the tree BY HAND by growing trees, but their canopy is extremely thin because they had reached the top of the height limit. None of their builders are Aether VIPs or even Ender VIPs as far as I know, so how will they RPly grow the rest of the tree? Calling a GM, or calling an actual Aether VIP? That doesn't make sense, as they have no RP reason to do so.

Like you stated in your response, this post wasn't aimed directly at you, but rather at everyone who is alright with pay-to-win perks.
