Question About Haven

I'm not sure if giving this away would be bad, so I'm going to try to avoid facts and specifics.

The multitude of torches in a certain place, do they have a purpose? Like to light the room? Or are they totally useless, and would it be bad if they were removed?

they are there simply to light everything up for now. as we build more and develop that area better, we will replace them with a proper lighting system.
