Out-Of-Character

Minecraft Account Name:

NL0MD0WG

How old are you?:

13 years old.

Time-Zone/Country of Residence:

England - GMT 0/ DST +1

Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?:

Yes. It is my first language, so I think I have quite a good grip on it. I am in the top set English class at school.

Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself:

I am a young gamer who enjoys all sorts of games. I also read alot of books. I use my Mac everyday.

How much time could you be on the server weekly?:

Around 8 - 9 hours per week.

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you:

To me role play means to totally turn into a different character. You speak as they would, do what they would etc. You totally take on their personality. You start to see the world in a different view, as they would see it. It would be like totally changing into a different person.

What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?:

I haven't really had much experience with role play but enjoy what I see of it. I take drama at school but that is different to role-play.

In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is:

Meta-Gaming is when you use knowledge that you know OOC that you shouldn't know IC. Eg.

*Two strangers meet on the street.

Player 1, "Hi John!"

John, "Do I know you?"

Player 1, "No. I saw you on the forums and wanted to meet you in game!"

John, "META-GAMER!!!"

This would be Meta-Gaming since Player 1 had never met John in-game and only knew who he was OOC. If you Meta-Game then it can give you an advantage over other players as you could get to things first or not go to places that could kill you.

In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Gaming is:

Power-Gaming is when you perform a 'successful' action without giving the person your RP'ing any chance to respond. Eg.

A bandit jumps out on a young man traveling alone.

Bandit, " Give me all of your money!"

Young Man, "No."

Young Man pulls out his sword and stabs Bandit, killing him instantly.

This would be Power-Gaming as Young Man gave Bandit no chance to fight back. He was killed without a chance.

What do you expect this server will be like?:

I expect the server to be fun and friendly, but with a very strong element of role-play where Meta-Gaming, Power-Gaming and non-role play actions aren't tolerated.

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?:

I have played on the BattleCraft server (Know known as HavocMC) back when it was still BattleCraft. I left because of the large number of changes that happened, changing the way I played greatly.

I play a few other non-named servers that I use for creative things with my friends.

Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?:

I have, I have and I do.

Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules:

I do.

How did you hear about us?:

I hear about you on MinecraftForums.net.

Have you previously made an Application? If so could you link us to your last Application?:

Yes. http://www.lordofthe...lication-lucas/

Have you posted this application on our minecraft forum thread yet? If not, just finish it up on here and then copy + paste is over there. Yes.

In-Character:

Character Name:

Khalumn Rath

What Race are you?:

Human.

What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race):

None.

Personality.

I am a generally kind character. I like to help people out and hate to see them suffer. In my opinion, the lowest a person could stoop is treachery or backstabbing. If your someone friend, stay true. They trusted you so you should trust them.I was never a good one at making friends. My parents and my archery teacher were my friends. I, when I was younger, wanted to be normal, like the other people I saw and heard about but, as I aged, I realised that there was no real need. I seemed to prefer my own company or with people older than me. They understood me and I understood them. They had knowledge and stories that others didn't have, so I stayed true to them.

Apperance:

My hair was a dark colour from birth but only seemed to get darker. I liked it that way but I added a tinge of red since I thought that would be nice. My parents disagreed but I still kept it. I only wear one type of clothes, which is my hunter uniform. It a dark green outfit with a hood. Many people point me out and ask me if I ever get hot in them, as they are very thick, but I don't as I got used to it at a very young age. Well, anyway. I lived at home most of my life and worked hard doing whatever I had to do. I occasionally change in to a light hunter suit. It look like what many wood call and assassin costume but to me it is great for hunting in.

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):

I was born, oh let me see. Ah yes. It was 32 years ago. Don't ask me what day. I can't remember. I started on the farm at my cottage in the small town of Serpent's Ridge back in Aegis as a child where I was born, then I worked at a couple of shops around the Salvus Capital of Solace after the great migration to Asulon.

So lets see...ah, yes Serpent's Ridge...where I was born. I was home schooled. My Dad taught me all I know. This included the standard subjects such as reading, writing and math. My Dad was mainly up to using the quill instead of the sword or bow, but I always had a keen interest in bows and archery. One day after my dad was finished teaching me about the Goverment and Economics of Krugmar I wandered away to Tealsphar the great Hunter's home down the road from my cottage, upon arriving there I asked if I could receive training in archery for I was convinced at the time that Tealsphar was probably the best Archer in the land. Tealsphar agreed to take me under his wing and teach me archery every day after my dad's classes. I made my own bows and arrows with Tealsphar that I still keep today, my Mom helped out occasionally after I told her of my training with Tealsphar, but she mainly worked the farm. We were a close bunch. They were more than just my parents. They were my friends. It was truly the life, I was taking in knowledge from my dad and Tealsphar, it went on like this for about 19 years.

Then the war came, Serpent's Ridge was under attack by the undead and the Nether portal in Laurelin was open, warriors from all over Aegis flooded into the portal to prove their worth. My Dad was forced to fight leaving me and Mom to protect the farm. We did a pretty good job of it as well. We managed to hold out until we were escorted to the Verge. We managed to meet up with Dad at the Verge and got through, we were all suprised as to how my Dad survived but he explained to us how he used his wits to get himself out of violent situations and never even entered the portal, we didn't really care...we were just ecstatic that he still drew breath. Dad led us through the portal and to the docks a short walk from the Verge's entrance upon exiting the caverns, My family and I boarded the elven boat even though we were humans. I saw Tealsphar on the boat as well and was about to speak with him but he left the elven boat and walked back towards the Verge portal, he chose to stay. Since we had lived in Serpent's Ridge for our lives, we knew nothing else so we were lost upon leaving the boats and setting foot on the Asulonian Soil.

Eventually we found our place and chose to settle in the town of Ascella after it was built, I lived there helping my parents until I was 32 and then I decided to leave and see Asulon for myself leaving my parents knowing they were alright.

What is your Character's ambitions?:

I want travel. That sounds good. I have never liked staying in one place so it seems appropriate. I want to travel to the ends of Asulon and back. People will know me as a great explorer. They will come to me in the taverns and ask me for my tales of the realm. I think that it was actually Blundermore that sparked my interest in travelling. He saved the entirety of the remander of Aegis. He is a man who I look up to and respect. I want to be like him. Yes. That sounds very good.

What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc):

I love my bow and arrow. It has been with me all of my years of life and will stay with me for many more. Me and Tealsphar made this bow when we were training together so as well as it's balance it also holds sentimental value to me.

What is one of your Character's most skilled talents?

I am a good marksman with my bow but I am not the best. I can wield a sword and mine with my axe, possibly above the average skill of a Human but there will always be others better then me. I could say that I'm a Jack of All Trades. I can do everything well but nothing exceptionally.

Other Information about your Character:

My favourite food has, and always will be a good ol' mushroom stew. My Mom used to make it for me when I was younger and I used to lap it up like and thirsty dog. I won't eat chicken as I hate the taste but enjoy a well cooked piece of beef.

Open-Response-Questions

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond?

*I walk up slowly to the warriors and tao them on the shoulder.

Me, " Excuse me. Are you hassling this poor young Halfling?"

Warrior 1, "No. Even if we were then it's no of your business, is it now?"

Me, "I suppose your right. But, I will watch you."

*I walk off. If the warriors continue to harass the halfling I will shout as loud as I could, " Help. Help. These warriors are attacking that halfling!" The warriors would then, hopefully leave the area. If they leave him alone I walk away, knowing my work was done.

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response?

"Good day sir. I am in need of a new pair of boots. As you can see these do need replacing!" *I hold my leg up for the shopkeeper to see.

"My, my you do don't you!" *He goes and fetches me a new pair. "Are these O.K?"

*I take them of him and slip them on. "They are fine. Thank you very much." I hand over my coins to him. "Goodbye."

"Goodbye."

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?:

*I think to myself about the new law. "It does say that small amounts may be stolen from the wild. And, I do need a new axe!" *I take out the iron from the chest but leave the sword alone. "That should be O.K. I haven't broken any laws!" *As I turn to leave I think, "This feels wrong. I need to leave them something for if they ever come back. *I place some bread in the chest and, finally content, leave the house.

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond?

"Hello kind campers. Have you any food that you can spare. I have money to pay." I hold up a bag of money

"Yes, yes. I can cater immediately." He wanders away to fetch me a bowl of soup.

After a few moments he brings back the soup to me and I taste it.

"Delicious. Thank you."

"Good, good. Is there anything else that I can do?" He says as he eyes up the bag in my hand.

"Yes. I need a place to stay for the night then I can be on my way. I can pay a bit extra for it."

"Good. I will show you our best tents." *I follow the man and hand him the money once we arrive. I then soon settle in a sweet sleep.

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?:

"I heard you need help. I can be of service"

"Brilliant. Can you wield?"

"No. I afraid. I'm more of a bow and arrow type of person. I have always been at the back, picking of enemies"

"That is fine. I will call for some armour for you. Also the reward. Come to me after battle and we shall pay you what you earnt."

"No that is fine. I don't require payment as long I can keep the armour."

"Very well." *He calls behind him, "You there. Come suit this man up for the battle. Light armour. He is an archer." *As the man approaches with the armour I pull my bow and arrow and check them over, whilst thinking of the commencing fight, and how best to win it.
