It'll take several stacks of gold and many more stacks of iron to make, considering the distance. Around 100 stacks of iron. []

That's not that much. Currently I have around 9-10 stacks on my own. Maybe have real tracks to all our other cities.

We are busy with a Fast Travel hall leading to all our other settlements and facilities. That is however not a too bad idea
