In-Character:

Character Name: Walas ‘Wal’ Donal

What Race are you?: Human

What Sub-Race are you?: Southeron

Biography: Wal grew up on the fringes of Arethor. His family ran a lumber jack business and they had a ranch and farm. He grew up in this environment, learning the tricks of the trades and how to use the tools. But, after a drought on the Donal family lost everything. They couldn’t afford to run the farm and pay the taxes, so they moved to the slums of Arethor. From there his family fell into disarray, not being able to find work for anyone. They drowned in debt, but Wal dreamed. He dreamed of a better day. He dreamed of a day when his family will be free of the evils of this world. But until then, he needs to somehow live. So he was sent off to work as a farm hand for a rich Northerner in Hansenti. Often he would hear his only friend during then, a old elf, rant about the days of Aegis. About the glorious fields of flowers to the white capped mountains.

Then, when Wal turned 18 he left the farm. Hating his family for sending him to work, he destroyed all contact with them. Now it turns to today, where Wal is trying to find a place in this word. He has a few ideas, but the army seems the most likely. To get some minas before he starts a family.

Wal is very philosophical, mostly because of his time at the rich mans farm. He had to think of something well he working in the fields. He gets agitated at people who are too arrogant, and will try to stomp on them if he can. He has a sense of humour, but it will only peek out when he is happy that day.

Wal is 5'9, not the tallest of people but around average. He has a light brown head of hair, along with a bit of stubble on his chin. He has light brown skin.. This makes him look odd without a hat on, so he wears a cloth and leather cap ontop of his head, protecting him from most ridicule. He wears of light brown coat and a cloth under shirt. He has black pants on and a boot that is white on the sole and brown on the top.

What is your Character's ambitions?: Wal wishes he had a family and a farm to call his own.

What is your character’s favorite tool?: An axe. It is easy to use without any real skill.

What is one of your Character's most skilled talents?: Wood cutting and farming. He learned this from his family farm and the Northeners ranch.

Other Information about your Character: Wal has some short memory problems, so don't be offended if he forgets your day of birth.

Open-Response-Questions

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond?:

I stare at the two warriors. A shame, such a small being being stomped on by larger ones. A metaphor for life, eh? Maybe I should help him. No, 2 versus 1. And they are bigger than me. Much bigger. I walk back down the lane, going towards the monks. I can’t do anything about this. Why does life have to be so unfair? Why can't we all just live peacefully, together. This is a insane existance. Why don't people just end it, right there? When they coem to this? Or do they think this in depth... I don't know.

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well-dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response?:

Wal looks over to the shop keeper, staring at him for a moment. He was thinking about life, and how it was the worst thing to happen to everyone. 'Oh, do you have some flint and steel? I am running low.'

The posh man smils, revealing a bad set of teeth. Can buy good clothes but not a good mouth, eh? 'I have that plus more! Do you want some coal shavings? Rub it on your flint and it will create a deadly weapon that shoots fire!'

Wal smiles slightly. First time the whole day. 'No, just some flint and steel will do, friend. Thank you though.' After he pays for the flint and steel, he leaves the stall, melting back into the crowd. Maybe that made him gain some faith in the different species of Asulon.

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?:

I glance into the window of the shack, searching for a sign of inhabitance. It seemed deserted, but Wal didn't want to go to prison for theivery. Wal pushed on the front door, and it swung free from its rotted lock. Inside he saw nothing, except for a bed and a chest. Inside the chest was a few iron bars and a golden sword.

Glancing around again, to make sure, he takes the iron bar and golden sword. They would be worth a few nice minas. Too bad he had to do this, to feed himself. What happened to the owner of this hut for this to befall them? To get robbed by someone like me. I'm gonna go crazy some day, thinking like this.

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond?:

Wal stumbles into the camp, staring at the occupants. Four Southeroners, sitting in a circle eating a leg of a boar each. Wal's stomach grumbled, and he stared at the largest of the group. 'Please, I haven't had food for days. Just a bit...' He goes to his knees, begging the people for the food. Over the past few days he was starving, and he needed food.

After they gave him food, Wal passes out. He dreams of a better time, where he and a young Southeroner are taking care of 3 kids that look like him. When he wakes up, he leaves the camp with a loaf of bread and a map, thanking his caretakers.

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?:

I move around the crowd gathered around the town crier, half pushing half sliding to the front of the crowd. There, a voluptous man is screaming out a call for aid in the clearing out of bandits outside the small town I am in. There are 5 fully armed men behind him, staring at the crowd as if to dare them to tango with them. Arrogant fools.

'I volunteer!' I yell, and the crier quickly explains to me what is happening before going back to his shouting.

'There is a group of 7 bandits on the trail leading to Karik, and we need to disperse them before we lose any more shipments. You will get a full set of iron armour in reward, and a sword that is said to curse the victim on strike.' I nod to the crier, then stand with the other members of the party. By the end of the hour 5 more people have joined, making the odds stacked in our favour for odds.

I don't like to go into detail about killing, but we lost 5 and they lost 7. Death always scares me, but it is a factor of life.

Thank you.

Accepted.

I was tempted to deny you because your definition for powergaming is very poor. However, I noiced you said this on your other application:

Playing to have your will/way or to win in every situation..

This is just about as basic as it can get... Forcing RP upon someone so that you win without giving them a chance to respond. I.E. "Bandit stabs merchant in the face killing him instantly and then steals all his valuable goods." ~Powergaming.

Just keep this in mind when you're travelling Asulon.
