Ever 2648 Share Posted April 10, 2012 [[Welcome to Hapsi's Haven. This shall serve as both an informative thread and a roleplaying thread. All posts are in character unless you indicate otherwise. (That is not to say that /ooc posts are discouraged. Consider this a general discussion thread covering all things concerning the inn.) Everything (disregarding powergaming and just plain stupid roleplay) should be regarded as having actually occurred in-game. Please don't use this just to cause unneeded trouble. Remember that both sides should be able to enjoy the roleplay. You throwing a torch through an upper window in an attempt to burn down the inn is pretty juvenile and simply idiotic. This post will be continously updated, hopefully with food and drink menus, a "gossip" notice board, and maybe some other things that get thought up along the way. Me 'n Bri want this to succeed more than anything. I really miss the fun days of sitting in the Therving Tavern with the /ooc family. Think of this as a throwback to the past, fun RP we had there.]] Hapsi finishes nailing directions to the Cloud Sanctuary notice board. She dips a cow-hair tipped brush into a small bowl of red dye then carefully paints a line leading from the temple to the inn. Stepping back to examine the poster, Hapsi lets out a long, content sigh then carefully lays the brush on top of the bowl, leaving it near the board for the monk who had loaned it to her. She pins a small message beneath the boards. "Follow the path as if you were walking to the Dwarven kingdoms. You'll find us 'long the way." A mischievousness child runs by and paints a line across the poster then skips off snickering. [X -1001, Z 237] [if a mod has a problem with the coordinates being here, I can take them off] You drag your aching body along the gravel path, a fresh curse muttered in tempo with each labored footstep. While business at the temple had gone extraordinary well, it had taken far longer than expected. Hoping to return back home before nightfall, you decided to turn down the monks' generous offer of a night's stay. The darkness seems especially thick this night and you have trouble seeing too far ahead, though you can faintly make out the shape of a looming building in the distance. Continuing down the path, you arrive at a signpost that reads: "Hapsi's Haven Inn". Your cracked lips curl into a weary smile as you turn onto the path leading up towards the inn. The tavern's doors swing in easily enough. A myriad of smells instantly overwhelm you. Fresh bread, roasting meats, bitter ale. The scents along with the warm glow of the torches denote a fine inn indeed. The first thing that catches your eye is the stout Dwarf woman wiping down tables. She spins around quickly, already mid-sentence. "O, yer back already Thys-" -t?" She raises a brow before swinging the rag over her shoulder. "Wusn't expectin' any'un, not 'fore tha grand openin', but 'ey, it's late 'n ya look tired, get 'n 'ere!" She grins wide and laughs. You think it rude to turn down such an offer and quickly step inside. "Take 'un o' tha seats 'n I'll get wittya 'nna secund." You shrug then sit at the table she was just wiping. "Name's Hapsi if ya din't catch it from tha sign." --- "O, ye, as I wus sayin', we're not realleh open yet. Still got sum finishin' touches ta do ta tha buildin'. Thyst, meh archeyteck 'n builder, is off buyin' some stuffs atta moment." --- "Mhm, 'e designed 'n built this 'ole thingy, ye, ye. Quite nice, ain't it? It's tha secund best inn I ever saw 'n me 'ole life, tha first bein' me inn back home!" --- "Back 'cross the waters, mhm. Though I 'ssume it ain't nuffin' but sum foundations now. Was sucha long time 'go, ye know? Worked wit me pa, taught me to cook, brew, clean, all tha works o' an inn." --- "He din't make it over, nuh. I kinna tink thas why I'm doin' wut I'm doin' still, preserve his memory, e know?" --- "Bah, where's me mind? Yer prolly dyin' o thirst!" --- Hapsi quickly returns and hands you a mug full of ale. "Is tha house brew! Try fer yerself, but dun bother askin' fer the resspee!" She smiles wide as you down the tankard and set it on the table. "Good, eh? 'N strong too!" You can only manage a half nod as you feel the alcohol take effect. "I'll getcha 'sum foods too hun, dun worry. You'll prolly needa room, ye. Dun worry 'bout tha price, this 'uns on the house. Jus' be sure ta tell yer friends 'bout Hapsi's, won'tya?" [[The grand, in-game opening will be tomorrow.]]

xmrsmoothx 317 Share Posted April 10, 2012 The doors of the inn swing open, and you glance toward its entrance idly. Seeing nobody in the doorway, you look back to your table. You blink, and turn back. A moderately-sized halfling stands in the doorway, his head nearly reaching the halfway-point, and resting a miniature hatchet on his shoulder and dragging what appears to be a sack of bricks. He lowers the axe and drops it beside the doorway, stepping inside with a yawn. "... Urr... 'lo." He glances to you and nods. The halfling walks around, digging through the pockets of his heavy coat for a brass key. He slips it into the door beside the bar area and wanders inside, dropping the bag of bricks somewhere unseen. He snaps his fingers in Hapsi's face. "Oi, 'Apsi. Wudder' this fella doin' 'ere? Was I out through ther openin'?" He jabs a finger toward you inquisitively.

cometking123 236 Share Posted April 11, 2012 Hm.... *looks at the sign and the child showing the location of the place* I have heard many taverns boasting of "fresh bread", but it seems like I shall look at this meself. I hope they put their minas where their mouth is. I have seen stale bread, hard and crusty from days of being left out after baking, to harden from the air's embrace. I have seen taverns throw and despose of their fresh steaks and porkchops in a....chest, turning rank and rotten, never seeing the eyes of a hungry man ready to pay or the light from a musty candle. I have seen ale rank and green due to its aging going horribly wrong, either tampered with or not put in a dark area to dwell on its flavors. These people say that this tavern is the best....but do they have the cooking skills to ensure such a thing? *John smirks as he sets off for the Haven* We have too much Dawn's Bakeries in this world...people who don't give a damn about the flavor and taste, those who leave food to its own, not aware that it needs to grow under the owner and its employees...I should do something about it, but for now.... It'd be a shame if this was "Dawn's Quality". It really would be...
