Ooc: Decorating The Rex Palace

So, our beloved Rex, Pok, just gave me permission to decorate the Rex Palace. Took a look at it for the first time today. So many giant empty rooms, just crying out for giant wall hangings, glowstone chandeliers, fountains, and lengthy banquet tables! And I knew then that I was just the Orc for the job. So I sent a most elegant plea to our Rex (read: said PLEASE over and over again) and he has allowed me to furnish his not-so-humble abode.

Now I'm decorating and I could use some help. Naturally, awesome decorations do not make themselves. If you would like to help me turn giant empty rooms into awesome RP spaces, I could use some donations!

I will need:

Logs (dark preferred)

Wood planks

Glowstone

Glass blocks and glass panes

Sandstone

Wool (red, black, grey, and white preferred)

Buckets of water

Iron bars

Torches

Brick blocks

Cobblestone and smooth stone

And orcs with high lumberjacking/mining/blacksmithing/etc. to help me build. Because I will need to move blocks around and it's sad that I can't move logs with destroying them. My lumberjacking is low. :( I just had to dump all my skill points into axe and sword mastery. *sigh*

This would be so much easier with creative mode.

Anyway, if you'd like to give me some decorating supplies, I will be setting up chests outside the Rex Palace tomorrow afternoon. Going to get started right away! :D

I might be wrong but I believe player placed blocks you can destroy and move as ghetto minecraft. At least, that was the theory I was operating under when I began fixing the Gorkil tomb door thing and I had no problems down there. Just remember that punching things will not yield what you are looking for. Use the proper tools (you can even use above wood once the block has been player placed, the tier restrictions only apply to natural blocks) and it should work.

Also, did you just say points in Sword and Axe mastery? Somewhere, someone's inner min-maxer just killed themselves.

Oh hush. What's wrong with wanting to use a variety of weapons? I've never been a min-maxing type anyway. And anyway, now I have egg on my face because I need skills that are actually practical. :P

But anyway, I stayed up way too late laying out floor plans for this. I'm thinking banquet hall on the second floor with a giant statue of Krug and some awesome giant axe wall decorations. Maybe a water feature. Or lava. Depending if a GM will spawn lava for me.

Okay, I set up the donation chest. It's right beside the Rex Palace door, so go put stuff in it!

I'm going to start with a magnificent nine-block high statue of Krug. So sandstone is appreciated. I will NOT sculpt Krug from lowly wood or grey stone! My integrity as an artist will not allow it.

Oh...and I may need a bodyguard. While building the first banquet table, I discovered rather violently that the palace has a slime infestation.

All of strigzgoi has a slime infestation. Thats why you have your swords and axes. Your a Kheshig, it's your job to be the bodyguard not ask for one.

As for the Krug statue, nothing short of Diamond Blocks and Gold-block eyes will do to show the indomitable strength of our ever-enduring father of Orcs!

Come on, cut me some slack. I'm just minding my own business, building a banquet table, when BOOM. SLIME FROM NOWHERE. If you'd like to lend me weapons and armor for the dangerous, dangerous task of decorating a room, that sounds awesome.

And Krug looks down on your wastefulness! Those diamonds and gold should be used for armor and weaponry!

Sandstone blocks and Netherack fire eyes will suit him fine.

As the War Nation grows in power and size, a new diamond block is added to the bland sandstone statue with gold eyes?

Eh?

Did Krug have blue or gold eyes, though? I always pictured him with good, old fashioned red peepers. Which is why fire is best!

I say fire eyes would be amazing.

I also think that my idea is good~ :P

We can convert him to gold if we get that rich. But the fire eyes stay. :3

I did a mock up on my single player MC. He's nine blocks high and three blocks thick at his thickest. That's a lot of gold.

Ooh, and if an enemy ever took the Rex Palace, Krug would be the first thing they loot, too. That would be a big blow to the orcs.

Pfff, Im sure our storage shed has plenty of diamonds and gold. And the rats that live there replenish it on a regular basis.

Did you just imply that someone could successfully raid Strigzgoi? If they made it to the palace at all it would be a major blow, screw the statue. By the time they got there we would all be dead anyways. Or at least I would. When I say "Over my dead body" its a literal statement. I will even die in such a way as my body inhibits your progress deeper into strigzgoi! Even in death I will triumph!

We are a war nation, so we share everything including armor and weapons. I lend you nothing. But I will put a set in the house for you to pick up.

Eyes should be gold that is on fire. Netherrack is the spawn of Iblees, eternally burning gold is epic.

Krugs eyes were red...

Decorations HUH!

I seem to recall that Sanjezal and Sanhar got attacked and raided on a semi regular basis. Of course, Strigzgoi is much better defended than both Sanhar and Sanjezal. But I wouldn't underestimate the ingenuity of our enemy. If we can sneak into Alkhaazar after they literally boarded up every entry and exit, our enemy might be able to penetrate Strigzgoi.

But then again, they are stinky pinkies and they have about as much sense between them as a sack of hammers. Gold statue it is.

EDIT:

Now that banquet hall on the second floor is more or less complete! :D I need a GM to spawn in some lava for the lava fountain, but otherwise, it's finished and it looks quite nice, IMO.
