Out-Of-Character

Minecraft Account Name: TaylorStriffe

How old are you?: 14

Time-Zone/Country of Residence: Eastern Time-zone of Canada

Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: I'd like to believe so, yes.

Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I am a kind, intelligent, independent, laid back person. I love to play games, hang out with friends, read and write stories, and watch TV. I tend to follow the rules and also try to help out people is they need any help.

How much time could you be on the server weekly?: At least a hour or two per day, and a lot more time each day during the weekend or holidays.

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you: To me, role-playing is the act of becoming someone else. Sometimes your new identity is based upon what you wish you were, or sometimes it is the complete opposite of you. Each option involves the creation of a new story, a new character, a new lifestyle.

What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?: I know the basic rules of role-playing, I've learnt that if you want to be accepted to a RP server you must have good grammar, and I've been on a couple of RP servers, so I'm used to role-playing.

In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is: Meta-gaming is when you look above another characters head to look at there name, then act like you know the person, when you have never actually met their RP character before. (Ex. When you meet someone for the first time, and say 'Hello JackyBoy224!') Without knowing that person, that is meta-gaming.

In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Gaming is: Power-gaming is when you do things that are either impossible or improbable, or god moding (never dieing in a roleplay fight) (Ex 1. Taylor jumps off of the 100 foot cliff, landing lightly on his feet, taking no damage at all. Ex 2. Taylor pulls the dagger out of his neck, and plunges it into the other man's chest, killing the other man instantly)

What do you expect this server will be like?: I hope that the admins and mods are kind, understanding and helpful. I also hope that there are no griefers who will disrupt the RP, and I hope that there will be actual role-playing happening.

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: I was a admin on a RP server called 'The New World', but that server was shut down due to lack of money, and fighting amongst the staff. I've been on other, smaller RP servers a while ago, but I cannot remember there names.

Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: Yes.

Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules: Absolutely.

How did you hear about us?: I searched on google for minecraft role-play servers, and this was one of the websites that popped up.

Have you previously made an Application? If so could you link us to your last Application?: No I have not.

In-Character:

Character Name: Connor

What Race are you?: Human

What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race): N/A

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): Connor, the son of Michael and Asha, was born on a snowy December night, in a small wooden home, three days march from the nearest city. The house he grew up in was in the middle of a clearing, surrounded by thick forest, with a small pond and farm behind the house, where the family dog would usually lay down. Connor’s life was relatively normal, growing up on the farm, learning how to plant and harvest, all the while becoming a strong and independent young man. His life was quiet, his days spent working on the farm, lounging by the pond, or reading books he brought back from the city whenever he went out to trade the crops. In the cities he learnt how to haggle, how to find a good bargain, and eventually how to persuade and convince people to give him better deals, at first on small things like books, but eventually he graduated to larger things, like farming tools and food. Connor grew up becoming an easy going, intelligent, kind, and persuasive man, befriending whoever he came upon, weather that person be a fellow farmer, or a trader in the city. He picked up many other useful techniques in the city, such as hand to hand combat, sword to sword combat, and stealth. When Connor reached the age of twenty two, the farm was destroyed by a horrible storm, nearly killing his parents. The morning after, the family searched the farm, trying to find anything salvageable, to no avail. Later that day, Connor grab a jacket, a couple of tools, and set out in search of merciful friends or relatives who would be willing to help.

Open-Response-Questions

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond?

Answer: Connor walked down the path, the wind caressing his face, and weaving its way through his hair. The scenery along the path was beautiful,as was the day. His eye's wonder to the end of the road, where he sees an young halfling being harrased by two men, both of them armed. He stopped momentarily, wondering what to do, when a thought popped into his brain. He walked towards the two men, puffing up his chest, and sticking a hand into his cloak. When he reached the two men, he spoke loudly;

"Just what do you think you two are doing?" The two men turned around to look at him, and he realized they were incredibly ugly.

"What do you want? Can't you see we're busy?" One of them asked.

"I can see. I'm going to have to ask you to stop, before I arrest you for attempted theft." The two men laughed, and drew there swords, stepping towards him, the tips of the blades pointing towards him.

"Oh yea? You can't take us both on." Connor paused momentarily, and responded to them in his most persuasive accent.

"Maybe not, but a squadron of Temple guards are more than enough to take you two down. When I give them the signal, my archers will shoot you where you stand." The two men looked at each other as frightened, Connor raised his fingers to his mouth, about to whistle.

"Your lying!" One of them accused, but he didn't seem to believe him self.

"Want to test that theory?" Connor sucked in, and was about to whistle, when the two men threw there swords to the ground, and ran away down the path. Connor smirked, and walked towards the small halfling.

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?:

Answer: Connor crashed through the forest, breaking twigs and branches and climbing over large rocks, making his way through the dense pine forest. At the top of the hill in front of him, a small shack was visible. He made his way up the hill, faster now, until he reached the entrance to the shack. He knocked on the door, and when no one answered, push it open. A thin film of dust covered the floor, and the table. He stepped inside, closing the door behind him, which blocked off the wind. He shuffled through the shack, and stopped in front of a chest. He opened it, and was surprised to see it held a couple of iron bars, and a golden sword. He reached forward and felt the edge of the sword; it wasn't very sharp, but the iron bars could be useful. He was about to take them, when he thought of something;

'What if this was my shack, and I came back and my iron was gone? I probably wouldn't be very happy.' Slightly saddened, Connor closed the chest, exited the shack, and continued on his way.

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?:

Answer: Connor strode through the town, following the ever growing crowd to the front gates. In front of the gates stood a armoured man, a sword at his side, and several more knights behind him. He was saying something about a large group of bandits down the road, and asking for any volunteers. Connor looked down at himself. He had no weapons or armour. 'But if I help them and they succeed, they will give me a reward. I could use some minas to make my way to the next town.' Connor thought to himself. He stepped forward, weaving his way through the crowd, and stepped before the speaker.

"I would be honoured to have the chance to protect this town, my Lord." The speakers face, which at first was dull, lit up at the sight of his first volunteer.

"I am glad to hear it, son. When we are ready to go, you shall be given some armour and a weapon of your choice." Connor nodded, and stepped behind the man, as he continued to try, and fail, to get more men to volunteer. Just as the crowd was starting to disperse, Connor spoke up.

"Is this really what this town is made of? A bunch of cravens?" That caught peoples attention. " Your given the chance to defend your town, your family, your children, and you choose to walk away?" Some of the people looked down at there feet in shame, while others narrowed there eyebrows. "You should be honoured. You have the chance to defend your town, and show those bandits what you are truly made of. You can either help us, and get rid of the bandits, or be a craven, and let the bandits walk all over you." He stopped speaking momentarily, letting the words seep in. Finally, he spoke up again.

"So who's with me?" At first, the crowd just stared. Then, one after another, men started stepping forward, volunteering to protect there town. The leader of the knights turned to him, his face lit up.

"Thank you greatly, young man. When we destroy those bandits, you can have what ever it is you need, as long as it is within reason."

Thank you for reading my application. If ANYTHING needs to be fixed, please let me know. I cannot wait until I can start roleplaying!
