(note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race): Northerner. Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): Jay is a male 22 year old northerner who has blond hair, and is slight muscular. Jay is about 6'1" and wears a green shirt and a leather pack. His parents weren't very old when Aegis fell, and when they came to Asulon, they lived in Arethor. Later, once they were married, they moved to live in the plains west of Arethor, in hopes of a quiet and peaceful life. Jay was born some time later, and he and his parents loved their small house. A small forest was within walking distance of the house, and Jay often pondered about it. His parents were like any other parents, and loved him dearly. They wanted to protect him from any dangers, and so forbid him to ever go in the forest. Now as any kid would, Jay wanted to go into the forest even more then before. One night he ventured out to look in the woods. He walked slowy then heard a noise. A bandit pushed him to the ground and then demanded money. Jay was young at the time and wasn't carrying any money, nor did he have much at all. He told the thief he had none and just as the thief was about to draw his weapon, an arrow flew through the air and hit the thief. A wood elf with a bow came and asked Jay if he was ok. He helped him up and noticed he was a human. The elf was confused what a young human was doing in the woods, and guided him out. Since then, Jay has always liked elves. When he was older, he learned his family were northerners, and became skilled with swords. At age 17, he saw a fire in the forest. He ran into the forest with his sword ready. He saw several Orcs terrorizing the elf village. Jay ran and attempted to slash at the Orcs, but he was knocked back with a single blow. Struggling to get up and help the elves, Jay caught a glimpse of something. He saw a male human, who looked somewhat older than himself. The man dashed behind the Orcs and stabbed one in the arm. Jay got up and ran to help. Jay struck out at another Orc and left a gash across the Orc's chest. At last, the orcs retreated, and the elves were safe. Jay looked over to the man, who looked at him. Jay saw something. The man had blue eyes. The same that ran in the Inuel family. The man turned and ran away. Jay knew that face was to similar to be a conincidence. He came home and his parents were thrilled he was alright. Later that night, he asked his parents if he was actually an only child. His parents stopped similing. "Jay..." his mother said. "We lied for your own good." Jay paused. His father continued. "Jay, your brother was determined to be a hero. We told him he shouldn't, and it would be dangerous, but he didn't listen. He set across the land helping those in need, and defending the defenseless. Many villians grew to despise him, and we had to say you were an only child, so they wouldn't suspect you're the brother of one of their greatest enemies." Jay thought for a moment. "Well," Jay said, "I'll make both of you and my brother proud." Jay grabbed his belongings and rushed out the door, determined to follow in his brother's footsteps. His parents looked at each other, then smiled. What is your Character's ambitions?: To find his older brother, and hear of his journeys, and hopefully learn some new tactics. What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc): As Jay is a northernor, he always holds on a to a sword, and almost never goes some place with out one. He always takes one with him to protect himself and others from anything that may try to harm them. What is one of your Character's most skilled talents? Jay always loved swinging on tree branches as a kid, and grew to love the feeling of rushing through the air, and became very good at acrobatics. A screenshot of your skin (must be in proper format): Other Information about your Character: Jay always enjoyed a good steak, and grew to love many kinds of meat. Open-Response-Questions Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond? It all depends on the race, armor and weapons of the warriors. If they were well equipped orcs, I probably would walk by. However, if they had medioaker equipment and didn't appear to be a war-like race or subrace, I would attempt to suprise attack them from behind with a heavy object, such as stone or a log, to knock them out, but not kill them. I would then explain to the halfling to be careful, and not to go around shady places. Now if the halfling looked suspicious or shady himself, I'd ask the warriors if the halfling had done anything wrong. If the halfing was a criminal, or the warriors were trying to steal their money back from the halfling, I'd continue on. Roleplay Example: Jay *Spots warriors harassing the halfling* Jay *Observes warriors and notices they appear to be southerners with beaten iron armor* Southerner 1: "Just hand over 500 minas and we'll leave you alone!" Halfling: "But I only have 100 minas with me..." Southerner 2: "Then you better go get some more!" Jay *Shouts*: "Hey!" Southerners *Turn around* Southerner 1 *Sighs* "Get lost kid." Southerner 2 *Mutters*: "Stupid northerner..." Southerner 1: "Hey that halfling is running away!" Southerner 2: "You'll pay for that northerner!" Southerners *Rush towards Jay* Jay "Woah! Calm down!" *Runs and grabs onto a tree branch of a tall tree and begins climbing* Southerner 1: "You better watch it northerner... you'll pay very soon." Jay *Stays silents* Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response? I examine the merchants wares to see if there is anything I am interested in. If I don't want anything, I'd politely say "Sorry, but I'm not in need of any supplies at the moment, but maybe some other time. If they did have something I wanted, I'd ask about the price. Then I'd haggle with the merchant to try and get the item for a cheaper price. If the merchant was stubborn and wouldn't haggle, I might go to a different stall to see if they have the same item, and compare the prices. Roleplay Example: Merhcant: " 'ello there, what can I do you for toady? Jay: "Hello!" *Examines wares, looking for armor* Merchant: "We've got a wonderful stew, would you like some?" Jay: "Sorry, but I'm not in need of any of your supplies at the moment." Merchant: "Oh. What a shame. Well you're the one who's missing out." Jay *Walks along to another stall* Jay: "Greetings Sir." Merchant 2: "Hello. What could I interest you in?" Jay: "How much for the iron chestplate?" Merchant 2: "Twenty minas." Jay: "I don't think that'll do. How about fifteen?" Merchant 2: "Can we settle at 17 minas?" Jay *Pauses and thinks* "Alright." *Hands over minas* Merchant 2: "Glad to do business with you." *Hands Jay the iron chestplate* "Have a nice day, and stay safe. Jay: "You too." Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?: I'd examine the house closely to see if it was inhabited at all recently, and if so, I'd just walk away. If someone saw me, I'd try to explain I didn't take anything, and if they didn't believe me I'd attempt to sprint away. If the house appeared to be mostly dilapilated, I'd take the iron bars and gold sword. If someone saw me and I had taken the items, I'd explain that the house looked abandoned and if the person who saw me thought I should put back the items, I would. Roleplay Example: Jay *Strolls along, observing the wildlife* *Turns and sees an abandoned looking house, then walks up to it* Jay *Sees and opens a chest, and examines the loot* *Looks around, then takes the iron bars and the gold sword* Jay *Heads back towards his path, then sees an elf* Elf: "Excuse me sir, but I believe a halfling lives in that house. I've seen a halfling 'round these parts." Jay: "Is that so?" *Turns around to the hut* "It looked abandoned..." *Opens chest and puts iron and gold sword back* Elf: "Thank you, I'm sure the halfling will be pleased his belongings are there. Jay: "Alright then, I'll be on my way." *Continues to wander through the wilds* Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you in the common tongue, how do you respond? I enter the trading camp and ask around to see if anyone has any food. Once I find someone who does, I ask them what they want for the food. If I have what they want and it's a reasonable deal, I'll give it to them. If they want something completely unreasonable, I'd offer them something else I have. If they refuse, I'd move on to a different person. If none of them had any reasonable deals, I'd just choose to trade with the one who has the most reasonable deal. Roleplay Example: Jay *Groans and stumbles along, then suddenly spots a trading camp* *Squints and notices the trading camp* Jay *Speeds up slighty, trying to get to the camp as quickly as he can* Trader: "Hello there sir! You look quite weary! Could I interest you in a quality steak?" Jay: "Sounds great, but I don't have too many minas." Trader: "Well, I am willing to barter." Jay *Rummages through his pack* "Well... how about 4 gold bars?" Trader: "Sir, this is some of the best steak you will ever taste. Make it 8 gold bars and you have a deal." Jay: "Alright. I'm just hungry..." *Hands over 8 gold bars* Trader: "Hope you enjoy the steak!" Jay *Begins eating the steak* Jay *Mumbles through a full mouth*: "Wow this is good." Trader: "Glad you like it." *Smiles and puts the gold away* You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?: I talk to the guards and ask for information on the bandits. If they are master thieves, or other kinds of professionals, I'd probably politely refuse the task. However if they were amatuer thieves, I'd form a plan. The plan would probably be along the lines of getting the guards to hide, and I'd lure out the thieves by holding a gold bar, or something else valuable, while walking. When the thieves come along the guards that were hiding could help me fight them and bring them to justice. Roleplay Example: Jay: "I heard that you need help with a thief problem?" Guard 1: "Yes, they occupy the road right outside the town." Jay: "Are talking about professional thieves or just amatuers?" Guard 2: "These aren't professionals of any kind. Just a couple mischievous troublemakers from a nearby town. Jay: *Pauses and thinks* "We are going to need a plan. If we simply try to rush out and attack them chances are we won't find them or they'll run away. We need to lure them out." Guard 1: "Sounds Reasonable enough. What are your ideas?" Jay: "Well. I'll carry some gold bars as I walk along the road, as if I am struggling to carry all my riches. I want several guards to come with me and hide around any hills, trees, boulders, or any other part of the landscape. Then once The thieves approach, we'll all prepare for combat." Guard 3: "I'm not sure..." Guard 2: "Nah, it'll work fine." Guard 1: "Well, it's worth a try." Jay *Walks along the road fumbling with his pack and some gold bars* Thief *Approaches Jay from behind* Jay *Listens, thinking he hears footsteps and prepares for anything* Thief: *Puts a dagger against Jay's throat* "Don't try anything." Jay *Thinks*: "Crap! This isn't going as planned!" Thief: "It would be best for you if you hand over your gold." Jay: *Frightendly says*: "Alright." *Hands over the gold bars* Thief: "You can go now, but don't try anything if you value you life." Jay *Quickly reaches down for a heavy branch* Thief: "Big mistake!" *Raises dagger and swings it* Jay *Attempts to dodge, but gets a small gash on his arm* *Yells in pain* *Swings the heavy branch at the thief* Thief *Gets hit by the branch and slumps to the ground with a groan* Jay *Attempts to walk away, when a second thief appears* Thief 2: "Don't think you'll get away with this!" Guards *Suddenly emerge from behind the boulders* Guard 1: "We'll handle it from here!" *Steps in front of Jay*
