How Is The Rp Here?

 Share

Recommended Posts

Hello High Elves,

I have been lost in search of RP. I need a new light, a new form of RP to enjoy. While looking around, I thought of a new character and place to RP. The place, is Haelun'or.

Now, before I make the switch, would any of you care to rate/describe the RP there? Also, how would you like a (As Sporadic said) militant High Elf?

Thank you, Gurigal/High Elf hopeful ~

Depends on what you want!

If you're interested in RPing a kindly, accepting, and jolly High Elf with a tale for every situation and yarns involving the different people you have bedded during your long life, don't come to Haleun'or. You will be met with nothing but scorn, scathing sarcasm, angered mutterings, and outright cruelty.

If you're interested in RPing a highly intellectual, conceited, snobbish, bigoted scholarly type, come on down! Hop into the tavern! We'll have refined conversations about wine, and that purile conflict those impudent lesser peoples are having on the mainland.

A millitant high elf is always loved by the community here, but it is fairly hard to play. Our last genuinely millitant one had a rather rough time. However, play it right, you'll make plenty of snobby, sniggering friends to fall back on! :)

The RP is fabulous, if you can play the part correctly! There's lots of social dramas, uruk attacks, and (my absolute favorite) non-High Elves asking for entry, to keep one of pure blood thouroughly amused. Come and give us a taste! You won't regret it!

Wow, the High Elves are extremely welcoming... :P

We're a lot nicer than people say!

So long as you're a High Elf...

I have a question regarding timezones issue.

I'm Australia, UTC+10. I can only get on at night, which is usually after 7. How does activity fare there?

Actually, a fair chunk of us, myself included, happen to be Australian. :) After 7pm, though, is always an issue. Mainly due very few people in general being online. If you were to get on at about 4-5pm, you'd get maybe four or five people.

6am - 1pm is our prime-time.

With a bit of luck the elusive Maheral in addition to them too.

Personal experiences have indicated there are always roleplay opportunities to be had, even for those in Australian time zones. Weekends see the city sprawling with activity, and at times one finds oneself navigating through the city carefully so as not to get side-tracked from a focus roleplay scenario, hmhm.

There are bountiful options available in playing a High Elven character, even a militantly so one; depends greatly upon how they demonstrate their beliefs to outsiders as well as between their kinsmen. The process of designing a character around an idealogy such a that of the High Elves is among the most entertaining aspects of the sub-race, for my own part.

Between those that interpret the doctrine ruthlessly and broadly, there happens some intriguing roleplay. If Mithradites' examples are not enough example, one could come see for oneself, no?

Please understand the High Elves are anything but unfriendly in the OOC sense. We're RPers just like everyone else, trying to have a good time. Defending a city against the masses of 'impures' who would seek our undoing actually builds awesome community.

IC hostility is not personal, aimed at your character and not at yourself. What you are seeing is only devotion to the proper lore and the maintaining of it.

And, well, for the ~UTC 10-16 times, as put by firespirit, I wish I could say the RP was sprawling during those times, but mostly it is not. Come in the weekends or a good day and you might find two or three RPs unfolding within Haelun'or, but oft it will be quiet. There is potential, however, as we do have a great deal of active players who could be one during that time. Getting them together will just take a more effort and slight pulling on Skype, should someone feel inclined to do such.

I have also considered going high elf. If my time with the orcs doesn't work out, I'll be coming here for a bit.

... We'd be glad to have you too, Ev. Either I keep missing your or Ev has the powers of invisibility. ;)
