The sun was at its highest point when Josef finished writing the notice. Satisfied, he sat back to read it over. Yes, it looked good. But when he tried to stand, his knee reacted violently. The sudden, twisting pain made the blood rush to his head. He sat quickly, trying not to vomit or pass out. With a weak voice he called for Kernith. Across the hall in his own office, the teen got up and came to see Josef.

He twisted his face into an expression of concern, but Kernith wasn't especially worried. Josef always seemed to be having trouble with his knee, ever since it was shot by a skeleton. He liked to go on and one about it. By now, Kernith tended to simply shrug off the stories he was told.

Josef raised his head and gestured to the notice. Please, he said, Take this to the noticeboard. He felt extremely faint and grabbed the side of the desk for support.

Attention Citizens of Renatus!

Here are a few announcements from the Royal Scribe of the Kingdom of Renatus.

First, all in the Kingdom of Renatus wish a heartfelt congratulations to King Godfrey I and his new Queen Atriana Tarus, who were wed in the Arethor Cathedral. It was a grand ceremony, followed by revelry and gift-giving in the Black Keep. May the Royal Couple remain strong together, bound by love, all of their lives.

Second, there will be ringing of even more church bells in the near future. Count August Flay and Lady Mayethill Basileus have declared their intentions to wed in the near future. As well, James Hightower and Elizabeth Tarus will be married in an upcoming ceremony. These men and women are all noble citizens of Renatus, and are given the blessing of the whole Kingdom.

Last, citizens of the Kingdom of Renatus are warned not to travel to the cities of the nation of Seventis. The Royal Scribe has received word that a deadly plague has broken out there and is rapidly killing off a large amount of the population.

Any questions or concerns can be directed to Royal Scribe Josef Timothee.

Signed, Royal Scribe of Renatus Josef Timothee

The bottom of the parchment is dominated by a large and ornate seal of red wax.
