Bism 24 Share Posted May 24, 2012 Hello to all six of us. I've started this thread to discuss the final shape of our village. First of all: We've decided to join forces- meaning Rarog Burgh and Town of Norvensdak- and thus creating the village that would combine both forms to one. Or, if we will go in that direction, create something that will suit us best. :blink: :We should decide on the name (old one or new one) :The culture: we've got Slavian/Celtic one and Nord one. We can always mix them. :The location, near the central kingdoms or far. Near the water or inside the forest, etc... :and everything else that would come into our heads. Everybody posts your proposition and opinions. And let the debate be fruitful. I think that we should have a council of three leaders, so that in case one isn't present someone will always be there to lead. Sacrevarius 1 Share Posted May 25, 2012 As for me: Name: Rarog sth (rarog is a slavic myth firebird, furthermore we have buetifull emblem for this) Location: near Orcs on north, for me its unquestionable ( I wanna have some real danger ) Goverment: Im open-minded, but I prefer it wont be the close seat for one of us, what you think about the elders? f.ex. three the oldest members rule, if one die he is replace by the other, huh? ULTRA LORD 25 Share Posted May 26, 2012 About the location, I like the place I found, not only is the land completely uninhabited but it also has ocean access for a ship, and we shouldn't fight with the orcs soon after the beginning, that would easily lead to our demise. About the name, I thought of "Rarosdak" which is a combination of the two. Don't you think that is insanely far out for a town with such a small population? Like I said, we could purchase a ship (It could be longboat-style, both cultures had similar ships) for fast travel. We should try and find a taiga biome if we can't agree, AKA pine forests. I thing the best and most original will be having a single chief, and something similar to 'ring' where the eldest men of the village will make important decision regarding villagers life. Chieftain- Elected by the elders of the village from all grown men. He has a final word in every dispute or decision, except trials. Elders: the eldest men of vllage (right now about three as our population is low) -When a chieftain dies, they elect a new one. -Trials: Only the elders "council" can decide sentences, this also includes banishing. Sacrevarius 1 Share Posted May 26, 2012 Thats the best solution for command structure, I agreed for location we are not vikings only, snow is nordic climate, slavs&celts must have access to grain fields furthermore your location is too far away, belive me we were living on far wild, closer to temple, for past 4 months and it was like single player, we will be bored to death, we need to be as close to the orcs as we can, so our presence would be as much irritating for them as it could be ;) about ship, I understand that is necessary for you as a vikings, but we can build small dock for longboat near river (it's has the access to ocean). We found this location, I put yellow marks on propose locations, so you can tell which one suit you best, black square is orientated size of it. ULTRA LORD 25 Share Posted May 26, 2012 I suggest no.1 I definitely agree with you now that we need to be close to the land and have a climate suitable for all of us. However has anyone ventured up there yet? It appears to be surrounded by other structures and tiny villages. Especially no. 2, it would be right on those two round houses. I like no. 1 as well. ULTRA LORD 25 Share Posted May 27, 2012 so those structures are yours? I ventured up there and explored, there are lots of other buildings as well. The volsung aren't a concern for us right now. If we aren't already settled up there I actually found a forest coastline with a nearby taiga if that works, I'll post up a picture of it soon. Grogos 4 Share Posted May 27, 2012 1- We know about Volsungs, yet we are not doing viking settlement but celtic/slavic/scandinavian. 2- The location sacrevarius pointed out is a good one.
