Nare Rememdium

As you walk into the tavern, you notice a man in robes with his head down. You instantly assume he's just another drunkard and sit down. You stare at the man for a few minutes, trying to find signs of life. You finally decide to try and wake the man, you walk over to him and shake him, trying to rouse him from his slumber. Your suspicions are confirmed, this man is dead.

In his hand lays a crumpled parchment. You pry open his hand and read the hastily written parchment.

To any who find this, my name is Dedamera Aera, I have a disease know as Nare Rememdium. It is a hereditary disease, that surfaces at the onset of adolescence. If you're reading this, then I have succumbed to it.

In this parchment is my last will and testament, please make sure it reaches my daughter, Lorial.

To my good friends, Titania Hawksong and Emberhard. I leave packs, satchels, and my bow. As a thanks for all that you have done to help me.

To my respected mentor and friend, Morgan Nifé. I leave my dagger and my sword. Though you have betrayed me in the past, I forgive you, and I thank you for allowing me to meet my daughter.

To my son-in-law, Galyn Mortain. I leave my robes and my staff. I heard you wanted to become a doctor so I hope they serve you as well as they served me.

To my most precious daughter, Lorial. I leave you all of my books and amulets. I know we never got to spend time together, I know that I've hurt you in the past, and I know I've been a fool. I hope you find it in your heart to forgive me for leaving you, forever.

Under the moons gaze

I reach my final days

Once I take the final leap

There will only be sleep

So worry for me not

I have found what I long sought

Peace

Emberhard enters, carrying a crate of his ale into the tavern, after making his shipment and sharing a few jokes and hardy laughs with the bar-keep he takes notice of the man...

Having read the note without looking up, the glee from his voice gone, with no emotions detected in it "I had better prepare a chicken..."

Emberhard looks back up momentarily taking a sigh

He grunts as he picks the body up " Been a while since I've had to make a coffin...."

Titania leans on the wall next to the entrance to the building, twiddling her thumbs. She mumbles to herself, glancing to the door. "What could be taking him so long...?" Curiosity gets the better of her, so she pushes her way through the iron doors, calling for Emberhard.

Rounding the corner, she stops in her tracks before the body, knowing exactly what is going on by the scene laid before her. She exchanges glances between the body and Ember, still in disbelief. "We'd better take him to the windmill."
