Application

As a foreword, all of the contents of this application are orginal. I did not copy it off of the internet, I just have a more complex way of speaking.

General Information:

Minecraft Account Name:

~ToastyPolarBear

How old are you?:

~15

Time-Zone/Country of Residence:

~Eastern Time/ United States

Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?:

~Yes, I do.

Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself:

~I approach Minecraft with the mindset of a builder and a strategizer. I carefully plan my actions and construction projects and put as much detail as possible into them. When it comes to how I behave socially, I do not curse or make inappropriate remarks, nor do I attempt to aggravate fellow players. I try to befriend those around me, except my enemies in the role-playing world.

How much time could you be on the server weekly?:

~Give or take some time, probably 12 to 18 hours.

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you:

~To me, role-playing is a way to express my creativity and allow my imagination to take hold by acting as a character in a fantastical world. I immerse myself in the life of another, and take on his/her roles, traits, and behaviors. Though it may be make-believe, I try to make it as real as the limitations allow. :-)

What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?:

~I used to, and still do on occasion, participate in oral games with my friends that were heavily centered on role-playing. I am also learning to play Dungeons and Dragons right now.

In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is:

~Meta-Gaming is a form of cheating in which one party gives information to another outside the game world, when the secondary party was not there in-game to receive that information. In other words, they should not have this knowledge.

In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Gaming is:

~Power-Gaming is where a player plays a game with an unfair approach: they decide on the outcome of their actions (usually deeming their attempts at all things successful) without allowing others who are involved to respond or react. It is a bit cheap to do such a thing, and it can ruin the experience for others in the community.

What do you expect this server will be like?:

~I expect it to be an immersive, beautiful experience where I have the freedom to explore, excel, and enjoy myself to the greatest potential amount.

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?:

~I have played on the World of Heroes Server, which was a devastated wasteland and extremely laggy. I also continue to play on a small server called T-Craft with a friend of mine, BroccolliSlayer, where we are both moderators.

Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?:

~Of course! I mean, if I did not, would I really be considered to be added to the server community? (That was a bit of comedic relief.)

Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules:

~Once again, of course!

How did you hear about us?:

~I was looking for a server with plenty of people to interact with, where I would not be criticized for role-playing or being a “nerd”.

Have you previously made an Application? If so could you link us to your last Application?:

~Yes, I have. I was denied because my definition of power-gaming was inaccurate and my definition of roleplaying was “sketchy.” I was also asked to expand my in-character section, which I have no problem with.

In-Character:

Character Name:

~Daeton Levarius

What Race are you?:

~Elf

What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race):

~Wood Elf

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):

~I was born in a small elven village far to the east. When I was young, I lived with my mother and father. They loved us and cared for us as we grew, treating us properly and being very generous in provision and patience. I will never forget the stories they told us of the creation of Aegis. My mother told me of how my eyes would grow wide and twinkle in amazement and awe as she recounted the timeless tale. These stories instilled desires in my heart that would only grow as I, myself, grew. They also taught us in the ways of our family. They were esteemed hunters who provided for me and my younger brother, Thayedor. We learned from them to love and respect the sacred forests as well, and to give thanks for the bounty of the hunt.

When I was 11, though, I returned home from the woods to find my dear pet cat murdered and strung up above my bed. This was the first of a few traumatic things that occurred in my life. Our wonderful parents raised us to continue the trade that they excelled in, but before we had gotten very deep into training, disaster struck. A vicious band of orcs ravaged our village, setting fire to everything in sight. I was just 15, and my brother was only 14. As you can imagine, this was very hard for the both of us. I hope my younger brother did not see it, but as we fled, I turned to see our parents as they lay upon the charred ground, slain.

At such a young age, it was difficult to survive in the forest. Luckily, we were able to survive and hone our skills at surviving in the wilderness. We have come to know and cherish the ways of the hunter, feeling completely at home in the depths of the forests. Despite this fact, my heart longed for fellowship with our own kind, and I dreamed of going to a place where many elves lived together in harmony. Over the years, I had grown to love the figure of Malin, wishing nothing more than to be with an abundance of his descendants, my kin.

One night, ten years after the night our village was destroyed, my younger brother woke me with tales to tell from his most recent hunting expedition. He told of a massive city where folk of all races lived. Hopeful to find information that would lead to an elven nation, I allowed my brother to lead me to this city, where I stand now. Along the journey, many of the lines from our parents’ story of the creation flooded my mind. I often became entranced, lost deep in thought. Here we are, and now it is time to set out in search of our destiny, our destiny with our own kind.

As I look forward into the future, I see a ray of light, a shining hope. We come from the Far East to the shores of this land, much like the hosts of Aenguls and Daemons. The words of the story remain in my heart: Iblees is still out there. He has not been erased from reality. Rather, he is merely banished. If we do not do something, he could escape. We must punish him! I believe that I could be the one to bring the four races together and lead them into battle against Iblees and his army of darkness. I am certain that with God’s power to back us, we can slay him once and for all, regardless of his immortality!

What is your Character's ambitions?:

~I wish to live with my own kind, in peace and harmony. I wish to continue our family’s legacy as great hunters, and to thrive in this new land. I wish to restore the peace between the four great races by extinguishing the flame of evil, known as Iblees. Finally, I want to honor the names of my mother and father, and those of the first four brothers, by making them proud and showing them that their descendants can overcome the powers that corrupt us. A perfect world is not impossible; we need but the will of God, and it shall come to pass.

What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc):

~My favorite tool, would have to be my trusty ash-wood bow, and my reliable quiver, full of arrows.

What is one of your Character's most skilled talents?

~My greatest skill would have to be archery, or course! I am also fairly good at persuasion and speechcraft. This skill with words allows me to work mastery into stories on parchment. Lastly, I am quite talented at building detailed and sophisticated structures, grand or quaint.

A screenshot of your skin (must be in proper format, if you do not know how to acquire one, click here: http://www.lordofthe...kin-screenshot/):

~Here is a picture of myself and my brother together:(Please refer to previous application, as I cannot upload another image.)

Other Information about your Character:

~I’m male, since you haven’t asked that yet.

Open-Response-Questions:

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond?

~What could I possibly do besides assist the poor little Halfling? He is clearly outmatched, and how could I just stand by and watch? I would drive off the two brutes with my trusty bow or sword.

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well-dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response?

~”I fear I feel that you cannot assist me. By the looks of your garments, I can only assume that your wares are out of my price range. Good day, sir.”

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?:

~I would wait a while, doing various and sundry tasks, until I felt confident that these items belonged to no one. Then, I would put them in my satchel and be on my way. If, by any chance, they did belong to someone, I would return them.

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you in the common tongue, how do you respond?

~I’m a hunter, so I doubt I’d be hungry, but if I were lost in some foreign wood, I would approach them. I would ask to trade for a map and compass, but if I did not have the funds, I would offer to complete a quest for them.

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guards have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offers their support. How does your character act on this information?:

~I would volunteer to help, of course! We cannot take something like bandits lightly. Rather, we must all work to drive them out or wipe them out.

***Also, to remove all doubt from your mind, I have read all the history of Aegis and Asulon that I found, and I have read a large portion of the wiki page. Rest assured that I have a substantial understanding. Of course, I cannot reach a level of great knowledge until grow accustomed to the lore and culture of the game world through personal experience and growth.***
