Re: Wandering Souls

Hey Asulon,

Wandering Souls have been re-implemented to the game. For those who are unfamiliar with what wandering souls are/were, they are non-accepted users that may still access the server as “ghosts”. They are put into creative mode and set invisible. They cannot build, chat, break, drop, attack, or interact with anything in the world, the only things they are allowed to do is watch and listen.

It’s an important aspect of the server, as it allows prospective players to get a glimpse of the kind of high quality game-play that will await them if they are accepted into the game. If you’re a normal player, you won’t even notice the presence of these wandering souls as they will be fully invisible to you.

P.S. Fixed a bug/exploit that allowed players to simply stand over 6 blocks away from a furnace to remove any restrictions on blacksmithing/cooking.

Yay! Great to see them back. When I first joined, it really gave me the opportunity to look at how the server operated and how some some people's RP caliber.

Edit: Wow. My first time being first! ^^

My chat is full of:

Bob has joined the Realm of Asulon for the 1st time!

Will this happen every time someone joins the server?

Or has it be changed so it only says this when someone is promoted?

:P

I think that the wandering soul actually helps bring people to the server. It allows the would be applicants to have an insight into our amazing realm of Asulon. I certainly remember when I was a wandering soul all those months ago, when I just couldn't wait to get into the role play. Some how, it just makes you want the server even more.

Just a quick question though, can they still open/close doors and use levers?

Wandering Souls can't use Falsebook functions, so they can't cause trouble with traps.

They can't push you - in the same way GM's who are vanished can't push you.
