Cyndikate 2303 Share Posted June 10, 2012 Just demote his account. It's the moderator's own fault that he allowed this to happen. Had he not properly secured his computer, this wouldn't have happened.
Aryon 679 Share Posted June 10, 2012 What you people don't seem to understand, is that Will was being hit. It was just friendly hitting, but even then the person who got into the account is huge. It would be incredibly easy to keep Hyperion away for enough time to delete a few threads.

It's not the point that his friend is big or what ever, it's the fact he's let this happen. It's his responsibility to keep his forum account secure. I know you're trying to support him but this is completely his own fault, no one else's.
Watyll 1104 Share Posted June 10, 2012 Well that was one of the most badass conversations I've ever seen, I would not be surprised if the hacker pissed his pants. Anyway, from what I know of Hyperion and the conversation above, I believe he is innocent. Tying up or not, I do not believe he did the crime. However, I know this is the second incident and I feel that he cannot be trusted with forum security if his irl friends are able to access his computer. Aryon 679 Share Posted June 10, 2012 So is there anything official? Is he permanently banned?
Kye 14 Share Posted June 10, 2012 I agree with Chuckaboom. It doesn't seem right just to tie someone up ( especially when you know the person ) just to get a hold of LotC Forums, Not only was the Hacker bad so was the Computer owner for leaving the pc unsecured which put both LotC community and the forums in danger he must not realize the Power he holds. I think he deserves another chance but its not up to me.
Robin Drake 731 Share Posted June 10, 2012 [15:03:31] Robin Drake: Very unfortunate indeed if you were held against your will, the thing is that I look upon this in a serious manner, not so much that a few threads were deleted or thousands of posts just vanished in an instant. But I look at it as a breach of forum security, the comprimisation of a staff members account which therefore lead to the damage. It is one of them situations where I am not entirely sure if I should believe you, which is reasonable for I do not know you or these friends of yours personally. Also if I was going to be even more skeptical I could say you could have formulated their testimonies as witnesses to this event, though that is not necessarily what I think. I heard that you had your account banned and demoted after this incident as to stop further damage before this situation was resolved. I will unban your account but in the efforts of maintaining forum security from any incidents such as this from occurring again, I will have to demote you from your position of FM. Action has been taken in the most appropriate way in dealing with this situation while keeping the future security of the forums in mind.
