Rogue Forum Moderator | Forum Griefing

Hey Asulon,

As some of you may have noticed, one of our Forum Moderator's accounts was compromised by an individual they knew IRL, who then proceeded to deleted and grief parts of our forums including the hugely popular "Show Yourself" thread.

The account was compromised 3 hours ago, and has since been re-secured. However, we cannot recover the deleted threads without doing a full forum rollback of 6 hours; and at this point we feel that that would cause more damage than has already been done.

We're very sorry for any inconveniences this may have caused you and promise we're looking further into this "security breach" to determine whether or not the FM in question should be permanently demoted.

Just spoke with the culprit, needless to say I'm pissed. I've censored some parts of the conversation and replaced his name with "Rogue Forum Hacker"

I know the Forum Moderator in question in real life, and I was on Skype with him when the incident occurred, with the "griefer" activating the video chat. I think that the Forum Moderator in question had no way of fighting back because he was tied up by said "griefer", and therefore should be given his position back, and the account of the griefer banned.

Well, the griefer was invited over to his home, and I suggested that the Forum Moderator not allow the griefer near his computer.

I know him IRL too. I don't know what to support. The assailant is twice the size of The FM

and he honestly had no way of fighting back. I don't know what should be done, though.

Incidents of this nature has happened to Hyper twice now. Once some time ago and now recently. In between these situations Hyper has never been in-trouble and I know several times he has spoke of issues with irl friends.

I have asked Robin to look into this, considering he leads the FMs.

I understand that I clearly do not understand the whole thing but to me , It sounds rather.. dodgy. Somebody " ties you up " , just to get access to your FM account to grief forums?

Perhaps I sound ignorant or something of that nature , but as I said , it sounds rather extreme. How are we to know it was not a set-up of the sort or something along those lines? Because , as it stands , it sounds very extreme to me.

I in my personal opinion think that he should still face the consequences he left his computer with someone that griefed the forums and albeit he was tied up he should of thought better. I'm not raging/flaming or disrespecting a ex-staff member but that is my overall opinion.

Well its happened before, one time he got creative and his friend pushed him off his own Computer and kep Hyp off so he could spawn stuff for himself. The reason we know this is due to his friend admitting this on his ban appeal.

As I said again im not trying to be mean, but didn't his friend who pushed him off his computer then say it never happened and he was forced to say that because he felt that people wouldn't like him, or am I getting mixed up with another person?

Edit: His friend is obviously some kind of maniac (If this 'friend' actually exists), first pushing him off a computer for some pixelated items and now tying him up.
