Levanthus's System Of Conflict Affairs

The ability to raise, handle, care for, and maintain soldiers of individual City-States is left entirely to each City-State and the rationale and logistics is such that no City-State can command another to do anything concerning military affairs. It is in best interests that we become experimental in our ideas of doing such, that we would feel encouraged to separate from the 'Oren Guard' mentality of just having guards that clock in, stand at a gate, and harass and interrogate random wayfarers. Levanthus is a representation of the desire for two changes to the current status quo.

A. A more realistic nation, including changes from each city having everything within it's walled parameter and allowing each City-State to find certain items, goods, and resources that bolster an open market economy within the Nation and in between Levanthus and another.

B. A beautiful tapestry that puts emphasis on players role-playing within a culture they are not used to and is not one of the severely participated clichés [such as Western European/English Aristocracy, or Game of Thrones.].

The first point is one that we wish to emphasis in terms of our military affairs. Albeit each City-State may raise and maintain their militias to their pleasing; there is one exception. The Subudai, more specifically, the Khagan of the Subudai can raise a Horde to either raid [with villain applications] or strike very specific targets. The Khagan does not enforce certain quotas of soldiers to be supplied, as if his request is a demand, but rather asks for militarily able-bodied men and women to participate in the Horde alongside the Subudai.

The nature of our military affairs are one that need a certain threshold to push ourselves into an 'aggressive nature'. At least for the Subudai, our honour is derived from the respect we give to others, especially of other races and cultures; despite the stereotypes we have had to endure. The Subudai have been idealised by few, albeit little to no evidence that we are completely and utterly warmongering, perhaps people do not understand that we are a steppe tribe, not the Mongol Empire. That being said, the Subudai, when pushed to a certain threshold will engage rapidly and do what they must to return the harsh actions imposed on them. Goldrim and I discussed it and it is good to make this comparison, the Subudai are like Martin Luther King when dealt with aggression, whilst the Uruks can be compared to Malcolm X.

Due to the liberty given in the form of our unique outplay as a nation, I expect role-players in high position work together with good Lore-Writers both within and outside of Levanthus to ensure their Lore written and systems devised are logical, reasonable, and detailed.
