To be added: melting down things such as iron to get the ingots back.

Needs to be fixed: Cant repair chain armour tryed both iron and smooth stone, Im level 100 blacksmith

TO be changed: Making flint and steel to blacksmithing from lumber jacking as it makes no sense what so ever

Im going to change this post as i find more.

I do not like the new patch, it adds grind to the game which is something LotC has never had.

Like Runescape, it seems like it's too focused on skilling

I will probably get over it within a day or to, but the... Gold axe... D:

I enjoy the new patch so far, I especially like the added requirements for cooking. Perhaps I can finally open up a restaurant or bakery!

Runescape didn't really have a skill cap. You could be 99 in everything, so its different here.

The bug I've found is crafting time. It took me 30 seconds or so to craft 2 stacks of sticks, because with every click, I need to wait for the server to register that I've crafted that thing, and lag makes it really annyoing.

I like the idea of the patch, but there a few things I would like changed if possible.

I would prefer if it was possible to have access to the lower parts of crafting, such as sticks, planks, and perhaps stone tools. So there would not be a crafting requirement on these things.

But advanced things such as iron, diamond and gold should adhere to these requirements.

Personally I think this could make a good balance, by letting new people get a foothold on the server, but if they wish to be the best, then they need to specialize.

yes, i found a bug with crafting logs, if you get less than four(i have no way of testing if it does the same thing for if you get 4 planks or more than four) It will decrease the two, yes, but also turn them into oak planks, even if it was birchwood or pinewood.

Other than that i say this is a good addition.

EDIT: Also seams to be incredibly laggy....

Just because we have a skill cap doesn't make it different at all, you require skills to require your every day needs. Runescape is complete grind which is why no one enjoys skilling on their game.

Want to hear my opinion?

Do something that will actually help new players that could be entering our server. Because these are those types what this patch is hurting.

This.

LoTC has an -extremely- steep learning curve atm.

It does make a little bit of a difference, as there is a lot -less- grinding.

I do like the new patch, just not one aspect of it. That being the nerfed golden axes.

You believe some things should be done in another way?

Well the axes being nerfed in my mind and a few others minds, was not a great idea. Axe wielders usually put double the amount of skill points sword users do and even then we were only just better than them. Yes there was 1 hit killing but only on people with no armor or extremely weak armor ad only if you got lucky. I myself took 3-4 hits before i killed an iron armored man and thats when I got critical hits.

In my opinion it should be reduced by 0.5 of a heart not 1.5. If it really must be nerfed that much then soemthing to make up for it. New perks or increased chances for Mighty Swing or unstoppable rage. Chance to damage armor pieces more than swords. But for the amount of skill points we put into axemastery we have to have some sort of leg up. 200 skill points and still the same as sword users or even worse? Not very good in my opinion. I mean on top of all the miss chances, high damage was all we had. So yes, we should either have it nerfed less or we get higher chance for perks or new persk with a golden axe.

When you make logs out of dark wood it turns it into the normal wood planks instead of darkwood planks :3.

I feel that this new patch will greatly steepen the learning curve of LOTC and drive out any new applicants. We must remember that this is still minecraft after all.
