Out-Of-Character

Minecraft Account Name:

AsianProX

How old are you?:

16 years old.

Time-Zone/Country of Residence:

EST/Canada

Time-Zone/Country of Residence:

Yes, I believe I do. I try to impress with my large and extended vocabulary. I'm a native English speaker.

Time-Zone/Country of Residence:

I'm just a good, happy go lucky guy trying to find some good RP, and I think this is the place. I play a lot of RPG games with good Roleplaying elements, (such as Mount and Blade and Skyrim), but have found myself wishing to create and immersive myself in live action role-play instead of a scripted storyline in recent months. I believe this is the answer.

How much time could you be on the server weekly?:[/b

15 hours, or there abouts. Real life should always come first.

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you:

Roleplaying, to me, is the act of stepping into the 'boots' of a fictional character, created by you, and playing through the life of said character in a fictional world full of wonderful lore. In short, I believe it to be an escape, like reading a good book.

What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?:

I have always loved the idea of Roleplay, but never had the courage to actually try it seriously. I used to play on a World of WarcraftRoleplay server, and I did have some rather disappointing RP there, I won't lie. That put me off for a while, but now I'm actively searching for some good, wholesome and immersive RP because of my friend who plays here. His MC name is CynicalKing. He regaled me of stories of his RP here at LoTC, and I knew instantly that I wanted to try it myself.

In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is:

Meta-gaming, or 'meta' as it's affectionately known by OOC chat, is the use of knowledge gained through OOC means in-character. Such an example would be being told where a particular town is by one of your friends in OOC, then going to said town, and not finding it by in character means. Another good example would be using somebodies name you met in OOC in character, before being introduced formally.

In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Gaming is:

Power-gaming is the use of RP that limits or inhibits another player in Roleplay, and thus their own experience. Such an example would be RP'ing pushing somebody to the ground, or off a cliff.

What do you expect this server will be like?:

I expect it to be different from what CynicalKing told me, but still fun and interesting. He probably glossed over a couple of the stories he told me, sugar-coated them if you like, but I’m still very intrigued by this server. I also want to find some good RP, and get out of this dry-spell I’m in. I've role-played with CynicalKing before, and he says I’malright; I want to try it out with other people in an environment that encourages RP, not inhibits it such as WoW.

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?:

I played on WildCraft, a smallish server. I left because I had real life commitments, and that should always come before playing Minecraft.

Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?:

Yes, and I find them to be extremely fair. I found power-gamers to be a nuisance in WoW, they ruin RPand it’s nice to see that they're being dealt with accordingly here.

Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules:

Yes, of course.

How did you hear about us?:

CynicalKing regaled me with tales of the server, and the wholesome RP that occurred here.

Have you previously made an Application? If so could you link us to your last Application?:

Yes. It wasn't formatted properly, and had some problems. I hope i've done it right this time.

In-Character:

Character Name:

AsianPro

What Race are you?:

Human

What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race):

N/A

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):

AsianPro is about 5"3, an average size for a human. He is of slight build however. Brown hair and eyes, he takes after his father. He is currently the tender age of 19, and is well-bred for the son of a former Northerner, albeit a former Noble of the Kingdom of Oren.

His father was The Rt. Hon. Edward Winter, a former Chief Ambassador to the Kingdom of Oren and Noble, now deceased. Edward moved to Asulon after Aegis burnt, and setup anew in a small patch of land in the wilds, vowing never to deal in politics again after the atrocities committed in the war on the Undead. He settled down with his wife Moira, and had four children. He was blessed, all of them boys. His brothers include Richard Winter (the strong first born of the family), Sigmundr Winter (the Lumberjack of the family) and Lucas Winter (born from another woman), all still alive and well in Asulon, for the most part.

As the youngest in the family, AsianPro was spoilt by his father while he was alive, and his brothers protected him like a child. AsianPro grew up strong willed however, and is quick of tongue, like his father once was. He is a notable hunter, and good with a sword. He took the passing of his father hard, and left the Winter estate and now seeks adventure in the world that is Asulon, only ever knowing the patch of land that the House of Winter call home. He wishes to learn, and find his place in an ever growing and changing world.

What are your Character's ambitions?:

To become a better huntsman and adventure throughout the land like his brothers have before him. To setup his own home in Asulon, and perhaps learn and grow as good Humans do. He wishes only to meet new people, and experience new things wherever he goes. He likes the idea of joining something larger than himself (a guild or army), and helping to protect his friends, fellow citizens and family.

What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc):

A Sword and Bow are AsianPro's favoured tools. As a hunter, his trade involves these essential tools, and are paramount to his survival in the world of Asulon.

What is one of your Character's most skilled talents?

Swordsmanship, or Archery.

Other Information about your Character:

Open-Response-Questions

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond?

AsianPro would Hail the group, and ask what was going on in firm, but powerful tone. He would introduce himself, and demand answers. He would ask the two armed warriors why they seemed to be harassing the small halfing. He would try and talk the two warriors down, and if all else fails, unsheathe his sword and repeat the demand. If the warriors turned on him, he would stand and fight. If they run away, he would help the Halfling up, accept no reward for his bravery, and continue on his travels.

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response?

As AsianPro has never been to Alras, he would obviously introduce himself. After the pleasantries were conducted, he would ask to browse the wares of the well-to-do merchant. If the price was too high, he would be unhappy with the merchant, and probably leave, unwilling to cause embarrassment to his House by complaining. If the price was right, he would either outright ask for a discount, or pay it in full and thank the merchant for his help and fair service.

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?:

AsianPro wouldn't take the items, and instead try and find the owner. He would travel about the house, gleaming clues from signs, etc. He would stay the night, and wait for the owner to perhaps return. If no owner was found, he would leave a note asking the owner to be more careful with his valued items.

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond?

AsianPro would be cautious about the camp, perhaps calling out to them "Friend or Foe!" If a happy answer was given, perhaps to show himself, he would sneak forward with sword or bow in hand. If all was well, he would introduce himself, and show courtesy to his new found friends. If no response was given, or "Foe, stay away!" was given, AsianPro would proceed to back away from the camp, wishing no harm befall anyone that is doesn't have to.

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?:

AsianPro would take up arms in aid of his town. As a skilled hunter and swordsman, he would most likely already be friendly with the local guard. They would know him by repute, and thus know he would take no reward for service rendered in protection of the town and its citizens. He would gladly take out the bandits with the guard, and make a name for himself in his town, maybe even Asulon itself.

'AsianPro' is not a suitable character name. Please choose a name with the following format:

John_Smith (Once you've been implemented, simply do /setname [NAME])

The only reason I accepted you is because this was an excellent application. Its' only flaw was the character name, but I feel that despite this flaw you are a very mature and intelligent individual who would be a good addition to our community. In doing so, I'd like to formally welcome you to Lord of the Craft.

Please wait for an Administrator to Implement you.
