I don't think they were removed -EVERYWHERE-. I was out exploring last night and could hear them. Never saw, but that noise is unmistakable.

Not use persay, only the crafting, the intricate process of creating the trap needs a skill, as stated in the OP. Needing a skill to use them would limit their use and make them more of a niche item. I'll talk to vaq and discuss how this could progress through the skills system.

@Distuth As for the slimes, you may hear a rumbling from the earth as slimes resurface once more. i.e. I'll talk to vaq about re-implementing them.

@Hawk Again, something I mentioned to Vaq though he is currently on a plane so that can wait till he has landed and got settled. Most likely spiders will have their web drop remove and drop string instead, perhaps.

I'd imagine something else will be made to drop them. That, or a crafting recipe for slimeballs'll be added.

Until I speak to vaq about readding slimes into the game, you will have to look to merchants who have them in stock. The crafting recipe is already in effect if you thought other wise.

Slimes are only disabled temporarily due to there glitchy animations and hit box's. They will be added again later when they are fixed.
