Dash_Rogers 130 Share Posted June 17, 2012 I found 2 pigmen during the day and they did not attack me (one at a time but both were within sight) till I was at least 15 blocks away. Neri 3590 Share Posted June 17, 2012 Because of the way Minecraft works, entities in a chunk that is not loaded will not have any events. Basically a Pigman outside anyone's view distance won't be doing anything. So, realistically, Pigmen only lock onto you from 50 blocks away, maybe even less.
