In-Character:

Character Name: Nicodemus Rosano

What Race are you? (You may only be Human, Orc, Elf or Dwarf!) : Human

What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race): Southeron

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):

Nicodemus was born to a middle-class merchant family in Arethor. His father was very busy at work and his mother was usually taking care of his little sister, so young Nico occuppied his time with books. He was a voracious reader, and was especially fond of adventure stories of the Wilds. The stories drove him to travel when he became a young man.

Nicodemus set out with his father's best coat, a few supplies, and a newly forged iron sword. He was not the most rugged of men, and had quite a hard time adapting. But he got the hang of hunting, and set up a small lean-to. One day, Nico was out gathering fruit when he stumbled upon a journal. It belonged to a monk by the name of Manius, and was full of verses and prayers to the one God as well as personal reflections. He had no idea how it got there, but being the voracious reader he was Nico reread the journal dozens of times. He eventually became something of a devout worshipper. It was apparent that the monk was a member of the Reformed Church and had an especially fiery hatred for heathens, which rubbed off on Nico.

Now Nicodemus has left the Wilds at the age of 32. He has became a tad socially awkward from his time of solitude, and is looking to deepen his understanding of God. He is very different from the young man who left home, but he still wears his father's old jacket.

What are your Character's ambitions?: Nicodemus wishes to become a monk, priest, or someother form of devout follower of God.

What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc): Nico went into the Wilds with a sword as his only tool. As foolish as that was at the time, he has become very adept in swordsmanship.

What is one of your Character's most skilled talents? Nico prides himself on his acrobatics, having learned how to climb steep ledges and jump from tree to tree durring his time in the Wilds.

Other Information about your Character: Nicodemus used to be called 'Demy' buy his mother, and he gets rather glassy eyed when someone calls him that. He prefers his full name, or Nico.

Open-Response-Questions

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond?

Nicodemus sees them and stops in his tracks. He is not a fool, and chooses to stand at a distance. "For shame you brutes! Harassing such a harmless young fellow! You bruisers must be too cowardly for a fair fight!" Hopefully this has their attention. As the two come after him, Nico turns and bolts up the nearest tree. Nico waves the halfling to run off, and then begins to bound through the tree tops. He can count on his acrobatic ability to escape the weighed down warriors or atleast evade them long enough for them to lose interest.

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response?

Nico is a little uncomfortable in this situation. The man seems like a silver-tongued hustler, and conversation is not his strong point. "Um, uhh..." Nico would give a polite quick look around. Finding nothing of interest, he says "No, no... Uhhhhh, someother time... thank you." and quinckly walks off. He does not turn back or listen to anything the vendor says, knowing that he can't talk his way out of anything.

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?:

Nicodemus leaves the chest alone. Abandoned or not, these were not for him to take. Instead, he sits at the door and meditates on prayer. Nico guards the house for an hour or so, ensuring no one else comes along to steal from it. He then gets up, mutters a prayer of good fortune on the hut and its owner, then moves on.

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond?

Nicodemus wanders in uncomfortable and shy. He finds the most friendly looking face there and inquires. "E-excuse me... is there someone I could speak to about purchasing some food." Pointed to one of the traders, Nico then purchases a bit of food, and some ale for the kind trader who pointed it out for him. He then asks around quickly about the nearest road, and sets off.

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?:

Nicodemus does not join the party, but he does go with them to deal with bandits. He has no interest in a reward and especially not in a battle. He stands on the sidelines durring the fight, shouting at the bandits. "Do not waste your time with this. Flee! Don't squander your lives for minas and damnation!" Shouting like this is not a problem for Nico, it is only direct conversation that he stumbles over.

Anything else you would like to say?: Thank you for taking the time to read my application, and for the helpful critiquing.
