Side Quest Or Just Side Tracked?

"I received a contract to map a location in the far northern wilds of the mainland. It had been a long while since anyone asked me to work as a cartographer, yet I accepted the request instantly without question. If you know me, I always come prepared for any situation and I never travel without company.

I sent a letter to my good friend Piper Nuri and when she arrived in ShadowVale, we set out.

There is much to tell of this journey, but the meat of my tale is about a rest stop we took at an abandoned house on a hill.

Night had begun to fall and the choice was clear to see if the owners of the house would have us for the night. As we approached the front door, it become clear this house had been left completely abandoned.

We nearly opted for camping outside after testing the locked door, but when we inspected around the side we found an opening.

Carefully, with sword and bow draw, we entered the house hold. Piper and I found the fire place and lit it up to rid our minds of the fears that crept inside our thoughts while searching the darkened structure. Instantly we felt a bit more secure.

We moved upstairs and into the adjacent compartment of the house,

too find a painting of the once owner.

Last place our curiosity wanted us to look was the attic.

Some words of warning become drowned out by a few sticks of my TNT.

We enter the once iron barred off room to find a blood spattered floor and a large stone throne.

The seat of the throne felt loose and moveable, so we did.

After moving the stone seat, an overwhelming stretch plumed from the opening. The both of us leaped back wheezing and coughing holding our faces shut. Before I moved I caught sight of something. There was plenty of dead things piled within, but also a book.

I dared it and did it. I pulled my handkerchief over my nose and mouth, took in a deep breath and rushed in for what I had reason to believe was a book. In and out the book was mine to hold.

After a quick read, I tossed it back under and the two of us went outside to camp out under the stars by camp fire."

((It was quite the treat when I came across a story about my little haunted house.. Haha. Your reactions were of fear, which is what I aimed for! I hope you enjoyed it!

There's also a little easter egg of sorts it seems that you missed.. Although, I won't tell you what it is. I'll also tell you that this house has a detailed story behind it and it intertwines with my character in some way. :) ))

( I actually found this place out in the wilds, after you had been there, place was creepy and very overbearing.. and I am ashamed to admit I nearly jumped out of my chair, when I went into the place, opened the chest, turned around and saw movement, near shat my pants.. found out it was a random cat )

((HA. Random cat may have been one of mine. That entire trip I was just collecting cats and when I got there, a few of em jumped on chests so I just left em behind.))
