*A stocky dwarf makes his way through the Dwarven lands. As he approaches each city he is met by a guard with the same question...

“Wat beh yer business ‘ere?”

*The Dwarf nods his head at the guard and pulls out a piece of paper.

“Th’ ‘igh Priest of ma order ‘as asked meh to deliver a note. A request fer a trade.”

*He hands over a parchment that reads:

“To the Dwarven leaders,

Due to recent expansions to our city, we have tapped out our source for dirt underneath our own lands. Being that the Dwarven people are masters of the deep, I would assume that you have a vast overstock of dirt within your vaults. I would like to propose a trade to take some of this off of your hands.

We require eight large chests of dirt to complete our current project. We offer 1,000 minas per large chest. Please send a letter my way if you feel a deal can be struck.

~ Lock'eed Ironheart

High Priest of the Hammerite Order”

((Note to any forum mods… This has been placed in “Dwarven Roleplay” as we are only looking to strike a deal with this particular group. This is being used more as a relationship ground breaking [no pun intented] roleplay between our Order and the Dwarven Nation.))

Upon reaching Kal'Anart, the guard fetches the lord Bazian to talk with the lad. The guard hands the parchment to Bazian and he begins to read it. At the end he gives a little chuckle saying...

"Heh, weh not 'ave much dirt 'round 'ere t'at beh not attached frum th' earth."

He stamps his foot on the hard stone flooring of the mountain.

"Weh are mountain dwarves, weh 'ave no need ter remove such large quanities ov th' stuff. W'at yah really beh lookin' fer beh our cousins th' cave dwarves. T'ey beh mostly ov Irongut decent livin' in Kal'Dwain."

Bazian points down the road in the direction of the Irongut hold.

"If yah beh needin' lots ov dirt, t'at wuld beh th' place ter look, if yah already 'aven't been t'ere yet ov course."

He smiles to the slightly confused dwarf.

"Now t'en.. anyt'in' else ah can 'elp yah wit'?"

*The stocky dwarf turns to kal'dawin and once there he finds Hiebe Irongut hard at work.*

Whut be dis laddie?

*receives the note and reads*

Ah durt

*writes a note and give it to the young dwarf to give back to his leader.*

To Lock'eed Ironheart,

The status of the dwarves is a bad one at this time. Dirt is in short supply but once my mines are active and diggers and miners are a going then I shall reserve our stocks for you. Im sorry but for now we have only one chest which I must keep for my hold. Once we get enough I shall send one of my dwarves to you for future agreements. I have heard of your guild and if you are ever looking for work Id be glad to hire builders for my hold.

*the note is sealed and will only open for Lock'eed*

Sun begins to set on the Ironrock castle, the clanging of metal plate mail is heard comming up the tower staircase to Lock'eed's dwelling. Two knocks on the iron door echo into the tower's main room and Lock looks up from his book while at his desk.

Enter!Lock says in a stren voice. *Lock'eed puts a marker on his spot in his tome and closes the book, standing up to meet the visitor. The large iron door slowly swings open silently and with ease, a large figure comes through and into the torch light. The man is in the usual garb of a hammerite guard, red with white and the emblem of a hammer upon his breastplate. The guard takes his helmet off *sweat drips off the man's brow and onto the floor as he bows his head.

Word from Bofric has arrived sir! *the hammerite guard holds out his hand holding two letters. One with a hammerite iron seal another with what appears to be an enchanted dwarven seal.

*A smile soon appears over Lock's face as he reachs out and takes the two letters and placing his other hand upon the shoulder of the guard "take a relief good hammer, that staircase is quiet the chore to undertake" Lock'eed then goes back to his desk where he looks up to the guard still standing before him. "You are dismissed good man, do take care going back down the staircase. May the Master Builder watch over thee."

*The guard places his helmet back on and places his right hand in a fist upon his chest over his heart and replys "Praise the Master Builder" *The guard then goes back through the large iron doorway. Slowly the door slides shut in the distance the clanging of metal plate mail can be heard yet again going back down the staircase...

Back at his desk Lock sits down and takes the first letter from Bofric and cracks the iron seal taking the bits and placing them into a small cauldron over a blue flame which slowly boils the metal back down into a liquid. Slowly the smile on Lock's face turns to a frown as he reads over the report.

The accounts of Bofric speak of how he traveled many days and nights to get to the dwarven lands, upon reaching his destination the report details his meeting with a dwarf of the name of Bazian. It states that the fellow dwarf was given the note and in return said there was no earth to have been removed from their mines or mountains.

*Lock's brow now furls as he continues to read on the report."no earth was mined out of a mountain?" thinks Lock'eed

*Lock places the letter down and reachs for his goblet and pours some pumpkin wine into it, returning to the letter Lock places one hand on his brow as he picks the letter up again. Bofric since confused by the encounter then took his leave and proceeded to find shelter for the night before he was stopped by a dwarf that had over heard the meeting.

" DIRT?! We dig stone ye bluddeh fool! Ye think we are halfings!?" These were the exact words the dwarf used. *Lock then chuckles at the next few sentences as Bofric asked the dwarf how many shovels does it take to dig stone then?

The report goes on to say Bofric met with Hiebe Irongut, this is where things are truely meaningful and show signs of a good encounter. He states he awaits further instructions and isnt leaving the Inn until a reply is sent. "poor Bofric, didn't mean for all this ill will to come to thee" *thinks Lock as he folds his report and places it to the side leaving Hiebe's letter last to be opened.

*moving his hand over the seal the smile returns to Lock's face as the seal blows away in a gust of wind. Opening the letter Lock reads what is good and what seems like bad news.

*picking out a parchment from his desk, and moving his ink and quill closer Lock proceeds to write a reply letter to Hiebe Irongut.

To Hiebe Irongut

I am glad we have this chance to speek and share pleasantries. As for the trade order it was merely a gesture to allow your people or your clan first chance at earning an easy trade. If you wish to give this to your people it is up to you, or you can have your own men handle it in due time. If you do not need the coin we have gems and or weapons or armors. Our crafters are quiet good I'd assure you we do try and rival dwarven smiths in our own smelting and forging process. I'll await a reply as to if the coin is fine or something else is desired.

signed Lock'eed Ironheart

*Lock sighs a heavy sigh one for Bofric another for the poor taffer that has to run back up the staircase to get this letter and take it to Bofric and relieve him to come home. Lock stands up and shouts down from the tower window for a courier. Once again loud banging of plate mail armor is heard running up the tower staircase.

((No hard feelings to the two posters but this was a kind gesture to allow the dwarfs first dibs on an easy trade may it be a clan that took it or a leader of a clan. Instead you made the messenger out to be some idiot, and didn't bother to try and see it as more then a chance to clown on thread. We know you live in a mountain, we know you don't keep dirt. It was a gesture to ask if you had any dirt from removal of your mines and tunnel ways, a stepping stone to further better rp events with our two groups.))

((Now umm, can you please point out where they are trying to make the poster look like an idiot? I am very interested in your response.))
