Out-Of-Character

Minecraft Account Name: Hiakomo

How old are you?: Seventeen

Time-Zone/Country of Residence: Central Time Zone/ United States

Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: I certainly hope I do, though I prefer not to base my own speech on my own opinions.

Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: Serious Role player, as I have been doing it for over six years. Easy tempered and fairly laid back OOCly.

How much time could you be on the server weekly?: Possibly a couple hours a day.

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you: My knowledge on Role playing is fairly vast and flexible. Roleplaying is the art of speech craft and text craft to which an individual expresses their inner most imaginations into one character, creating their own seperate personalities and lifestyles while maintaining a strong hold to the environment they are pitted in and the challenges they face in their existance.

What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?: Six years of Role-playing in World of Warcraft tends to leave an impression, I believe.

In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is: Meta-gaming is the act in which a character tends to know more than what is provided. Problems such as: Knowing someone's name without prior providing, and their weaknesses. Doing anything that would not be known by common standards. Using OOC information IC, generally.

In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Emoting is: Power emoting is the same context of auto-hitting, yes? In which the character emotes their combat as an instant hit without chance of blocking or providing a chance for the opponent to defend oneself.

In your own Words, define what Out of Character (OOC) is: Out of character is the text in which is not involving the character one is playing their character but is responding to the individual behind the screen.

In your own Words, define what In Character (IC) is: Interaction between any characters including: combat, speech, and crafting.

What do you expect this server will be like?: I expect it to be a fine source for Roleplaying and finally getting my character to fit in with other Roleplayers in their own ways.

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: I've tried too many to name. I left them because none had Roleplaying on it, just a self-proclimation of having RP but never providing it.

Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: Yes

Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules: Yes

How did you hear about us?: I googled RP servers, saw this link and thought it looked interesting. I logged in and I was astounded at the phenomenal Roleplaying skills and the beautiful scenery.

Have you previously made an Application? If so could you link us to your last Application?: Yes, but both have been denied.

In-Character:

Character Name: Kaldim Whitebeard

What Race are you? (You may only be Human, Orc, Elf or Dwarf!) : Dwarf-kin.

What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race): Mountain Dwarf w/ white hair.

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): Kaldim Whitebeard was named from his long-aged beard and hair, white in color. Kaldim is of his 86th season in age, in both apperance, and time. This armored dwarf resided in his home in the mountains, away from the disputes and conflicts of Kal'Urguan. This dwarf was a hermit, living alone for many years, crafting his own armors and weapons and eventually grew old protecting his home, which was located a fair distance north of Kal'Gurgan. (Can't tell what is north due to Map being unavaliable.) Near the peak of this mountain, he burrowed out a hole, living inside. From time to time, he would wander out to witness the world only to see war and death before him. After the lands withered and became distraught with the undead, he had enough. Kaldim gathered his materials and began to leave his home in the mountain. Kaldim followed the trails of the cities looking for a safe haven. With his sword in hand he looked for a new home. In combat, he appears to have lost his eye to a skeleton which had traveled onto the path he had traveled, the arrow piercing his eye. Quickly after ahnihilating the skeleton he withdrew the arrow from his eye and tossed it away, applying pressure on the bleeding surface. From a distance he saw a boat of dwarves retreating the lands and quickly placed himself on one of the local boats headed for Asulon. Upon this boat, the dwarves treated his wound and welcomed him aboard, but only at the price of his work. This dwarf was clearly old, but he had strength enough to travel and fight. To those who have met him, he would easily be bitter and defensive or kind and compassionate.

In his time, he met many individuals, completed a few feeble tasks, and aided crafters and miners in their works, however he lacked his true purpose in life... and when the ships met the shore, he snuck away from the other groups of dwarves. In northwestern Karik he found himself another mountain, to which to began anew and started to burrow it out. In his time, he felt as if he was neglecting helping others, as his purpose was now being set. After some time, he finally left his hovel, taking upon himself a path going east. He visited Coud Temple, and then moved north. Strength and intelligence were not devoid in this dwarf, nor were compassion and understanding. Rugged, old looks apparent, and muscle seen visibly. A sheath rested at his side containing one blade, and on his other side, a pickaxe was hanging by a rope around his belt. Kaldim spent his time on Asulon sitting upon the upper reaches of mountains, looking downward to kingdoms in the making, and the kingdoms already prospering. Word still spreads that he travels today, looking for a region that would best fit his abilities, and would require his aid. Kaldim heard rumors of problems in Karik, and even rumors of prosperity, to which he set out to visit the clans of the dwarves. In the face of their wars, he was immediately ignored due to his white beard having no affiliation. When a short time of peace arrives, he intends to travel out once more to visit the dwarves, and perhaps finally find acceptance into a clan.

What are your Character's ambitions?: Finding a home, and staying strong, mainly, along with finding someone who would share in his intelligence and compassion.

What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc): Pickaxe and Sword

What is one of your Character's most skilled talents? Excellent craftsmanship, strong, and loyal.

Open-Response-Questions

Each and every question must be answered with a minimum of a single full paragraph and entirely in RP.

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond? Kaldim Whitebeard walks up to the two gentlemen, hands resting on his hips. "Oy! Leave tha' boy alone, aye? Ye' have no business takin' the lad's money, aye?" Kaldim scoffs, "Ye' call yerselves guards yet ye' steal from citizens!" he rests his hand on the hilt of his blade, "Just let 'im go, alright?" upon refusal of the soldiers, Kaldim quickly grabbed at the hand of one guard, holding a burlap coinpouch, and attempted to apply pressure and twist it to force him to release the pouch. With an audible rumble of coins and cloth, the sack hit the ground, the second guard drawing his blade. "Why you little bastard!" he yelled before swinging his blade downward, only for Kaldim to knock him off balance by kicking his leg with a sweep. Lifting the pouch, he ran forward and grabbed the halfling by the arm, running off with him until the two were out of sight. He offered the halfling back his pouch, adding a few coins of his own to the collection.

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response? "Well, sir. I see yer wares 'ere. They look mighty fancy, aye? What might ye' suggest for a dwarf like myself, eh?" he looks up at the man with a chuckling smile, obviously pleased by what the man offers. The man looks down, leaning a bit over his counter to see the dwarf clearly before giving an attentive cough, "Ahem... Well, 'ow about this fine ring?" the ring was golden, and upon the top sat a ruby gem in the holster's clutches. Kaldim raised an eyebrow, "Tha's quite impressive, but no' m'style." the man nods. A couple guards begin walking up the path, the man looking rather nervous, "N-nevermind. There's nothin' for you here." he quickly gathered his things, placing them into his satchel, and running off. Kaldim only could stand there and blink at the sudden retreat.

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?: Kaldim Whitebeard inspects the hut a bit longer before noticing the chest. With squinted eyes, he walked over to the chest, opening it to reveal its contents. Iron bars and a golden sword shone in his eye... Kaldim reached into the chest, withdrawing the sword, inspecting it closely. After thoughtful consideration he concluded, "Ach.. I have no business in takin' wot's no' mine." he walks out of the hut immediately after placing the sword back into the chest, closing the door behind him and leaving the items alone. With a brush of his hand on his beard, he returns to his exploring.

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond? Kaldim Whitebeard clenches his stomach in apparent hunger, before exhaling at the site of the camp. The dwarf bows to the members of the camp in respect before stating, "Oy, lads 'n lasses... would ye' be so kind as to offer myself a meal? I'd kindly return the favor in action to yer kindness.." he looks around, nodding to the various members before awaiting an answer. The traders grin at the dwarf before nodding to each other. One stronger man walks up to Kaldim with a strange accent, "We expec' payment, dwarf-kin!" Kaldim nods, giving the men his coinpouch, walking slowly over to the campfire. Minimal portions were provided, but it was enough to fill a man, let alone a dwarf. After the meal, Kaldim exchanged his thanks and began to walk off back into the wilderness...

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?: Kaldim Whitebeard draws his blade from its sheath, following the town guards to the defense of the town, "Alright, lads! I'm here t' lend ye' a hand! Ye' ready to deal with these sons of arses?!" Kaldim stands in the middle of the group, waiting for the orders of the guard to allow permission for his blade to meet others in combat. Shouts and commands being ordered by the Captain prompted the forward movement of the troops against the bandits on the outside. Blood and casualties on both sides followed when the troop had returned to the town with their wounded. Kaldim suffered a small stab, and was easily treated by the local medics. Upon request of the reward, Kaldim immediately denied it. "My payment was in yer town's safety, lads..." with a smile, he nodded in appreciation to those around him, "Thank ye'."

Anything else you would like to say?: Hopefully this time I have rectified any problems I may have had with Lore and other issues. As I'm trying to keep to a seperate original story for my character, Lore is a bit hard to come by. I just don't want to be a stereotypical dwarf in a clan inside the mountains.

Other Comments: Your application is good, but you need to include more server lore. You can find it on the wiki.

Well, you only had one problem with your application. It was the fact that you had failed to implement server lore. I think you have done a good job of doing that this time around. While reading your biography, I saw some solid lore that you had added in. Great job, and welcome to Asulon.

Please wait for a GM to implement you. This could take some time.

While you wait…Go and vote for the server to support it!

We all would really appreciate it.
