The Death of a Hero

Recommended Posts

No noise is heard from the crowd gathered around the door on the upper floor of Winterhall as the body of Halboron Elendil is carried out on a stretcher by several cloaked and hooded men. Halboron's son, Thorenir II, follows as the men carry the body down the stairs, heading to the Winterhall crypt. Thorenir stops on the landing, amongst the crowd gathered in mourning for Halboron, and shoots a stern look at his cousin standing at the head of the crowd, before following the men down the stairs.

Roland sets the stretcher down in the crypts with the help of some of the other men, where he then takes the sword he gave to Hal just the day before out of its sheath by the dead mans side, placing it in Thorenir's hand, and nodding to him.

"He wanted that with him in the crypt, lad, ye do the honor's, as he is yer Father."

Thorenir nods before taking the sword from Roland's hand, a tear streaming down his face. He thinks back to when he was a child and his father would take him out into the woods near Glenwood and teach him to hunt. He looks upon his father, lying on the stretcher by the coffin he would soon be buried in.

((Just to make this clear, anyone who knew Halboron, was friends with Halboron, or is a citizen of Ildon, are welcome to post here))

Magnus sits in the shadow

"About damn time that witch-kin died.. Killed him at least three times under orders.."

He smiles at the thought of his murders, and waits until the crowd is passed to go out the side passage and up the tower until he could climb down the walls and out

*Isabella holds onto Artorus' hand looking upset with tear marks down her cheeks. When she sees Thorenir go past she lets go of her Grandfather and takes a small yellow flower from her hair. Isabella walks to Thorenir and tugs his arm and holds the flower up to him trying not to cry again.*

Thorenir looks down at his little cousin, a tear streaming down his cheek, and smiles slightly at her. He lifts the flower from her hand and places it down on his fathers chest. He then takes the sword Rolland had taken from his fathers sheath and places it next to the flower. Silently, Thorenir turns and walks away towards his room.
