S’Zakhar

Character Skillset:

100 swords, 100 blacksmithing, 100 herbalism

Appearance (age, SUBRACE, gender):

Zakhar is a Leparda, his mother too is a Leparda, though his father is a Tigrasi. While he is not a cross bread, he has some of his father genes and thus is quite strong for a Leparda. Standing at 6'2 and weighing 200lbs, Zakhar has light coloured fur, his spots too are lightly coloured.

Personality:

Zakhar was raised by his father, he shares much of his views, particularly having little patience for apes, though he doesn't hate them, or believe them inferior by dint of being apes. Zakhar is patient with other kha, given their differences to other races, he feels it is his duty to, as Kha have few who will look out for them.

Please include a short bio of your character's life:

Zakhar was born and raised in Xer'Tlaasu, the kitten of Do'Karza and Sa'Korth. He had a pretty standard upbringing for a Kha. Zakhar is a leparda, he inherited this from his mother, his father however is Tigasi, because of this, Zakhar is stronger than the average Kha. He was mostly raised by his father, and has become a more than adapt fighter as a result. However, Zakhar never really devoted much time to using a bow, he much preferred using a sword or axe.

One day, shortly after turning 7, Zakhar was wondering around the city, to nowhere in particular. He stumbled across a blacksmith, Zakhar had never seen one before, he has walked past the building a few times, but it had been empty, and he hadn’t paid much attention, today however it was being used. Zakhar quickly scrambled up a tree and sat in it, watching the blacksmith making a bronze sword. Zakhar watched the blacksmith in secret for some time. Zakhar wasn’t in the tree long, before he started getting uncomfortable; he tried to shift his position, but lost his balance and fell out of the tree in the process. The blacksmith looked at him, curious as to how long he had been in the tree; thrilled by the young Kha interest in his profession, he was eager to teach him. Over the next few years, Zakhar would visit the blacksmith almost every day; he was eager to help, and learn, though being young there was little he could do besides hold tools. When he was old enough, the blacksmith began to teach him. Zakhar was eager to learn and in a short time, he became an excellent smith, capable of creating pieces to rival even dwarf and orc smiths.

When Zakhar was a young adult, he used to venture around Asulon, though he preferred to keep his distance from large cities, “too many apes” he thought. Zakhar would often get lost, for months at a time, living in the wilds, like an animal. To start with, these ventures were accidental, but as he grew older, Zakhar began to venture into the wilds of his own accord; he would often visit the wilds to get away from the city life. During these retreats, Zakhar would meditate, trying to commune with Metztli, he believed that in order to do so, he must live like ocelots and wolves do. During one of his retreats, Zakhar was lazily sitting by a river, eating some plants to help his most recent meal go down. What Zakhar didn’t realise is that the plant he was eating was poisonous. A powerful hallucinogenic, the plants poison caused Zakhar’s mind to create visions, strange visions, for three days, Zakhar was in a trance, no idea what was happening around him, at the mercy of the poison in his system. In one of these visions, Zakhar believed he received a message from Metztli. Zakhar’s hallucination of Metztli, charged him with the task of bringing the Kha to the wild, to make them embrace their ocelotian ancestry, and become more animalistic. After three days of metal torment, the poison left his body, and his mind was freed; he immediately returned to Xer'Tlaasu. For years, he convinced himself that the vision of Metztli was just a result of the plants poison. He buried all memory of it as deep as he could, until he had almost forgotten it entirely.

Though Zakhar tried to forget the visions, he didn’t forget the plant, he had never really thought plants were capable of doing such things until this time. Soon after returning to Xer’Tlaasu, Zakhar felt it was time for another retreat, but this time, he didn’t want to live like a beast, he was much more interested in the plant. He gather together tools, and other things he thought he might need, then headed off into the wild. There, he began to collect and examine plants, testing them on prey he had caught, and noting down the effects. It wasn’t long until he had a pretty extensive list of plants and their effects. Satisfied, Zakhar returned to Xer’Tlaasu. On the way back, he came across a wounded man; at first, he paid no attention, not caring for the ape either way. But, just as he was about to leave he had an idea, he remembered one of the plants he had examined had healed a wounded bird. Eager to test this plant on an ape, he hurried off into the nearby forest, looking for one. It wasn’t long before he did. He hurried back to the wounded human, and gave him a solution of the plant in water, the man’s recovery was almost instant. Caring more about the fact the plant worked, that the fact the human was going to live now. He hurried back to Xer’Tlaasu, and made himself some equipment for harvesting and refining these plants into usable potions.

Character's ambitions:

Zakhar’s main ambition, is to make the Kha more animal like, the hallucination of Metztli has haunted him more as he has grown older; he wishes to achieve the task he believes Metztli has charged him with. Zakhar also wishes to catalogue every plant in Asulon, and its effects on each race.

_---Situational Rp Questions---_

1.

As you travel through the Karakatuan jungle, you spot a human trespassing on your nation's lands. He approaches you, obviously distressed, and asks for any food, water, or shelter that you can provide, then tells you that he has been lost in the area for days without any proper supplies. How do you react?:

Zakhar watches the human warily, unsure of him, as the human approaches him, he runs off into the jungle, climbing a tree and sitting there, waiting to see if the human had followed. Satisfied it has not, Zakhar jumps out of the tree and returns to where he last saw the human, approaching the spot silently, hoping to remains undetected. The human had gone, Zakhar looks around for a trail to follow, it wasn’t hard, the human had so clumsily charged thought the jungle he had left an obvious path to follow. Zakhar quickly catches up with the human, and follows him for some time, reaming undetected. After several hours, Zakhar is satisfied the human is truly lost and in need of aid, Zakhar makes is presence known, he provides the human with some food, and water; then leads him out of the jungle, talking as little as possible to him. Zakhar soon gets frustrated with how slow the human is walking, after several warnings, Zakhar gets fed up and leaves the human behind, hoping it will find its own way out, if only so that it would stop trampling plants he could use.

2.

As you romp through the lands of the "apes", you come across a tavern. Inside this tavern, a Dwarf notices you and starts gawking at you, then begins to speak.

"Oi! I gots a bowl of cream for you, Kitty! Ha! I'd bet you would make a nice throw rug, wouldn't ya, ya mangy furball?!"

He continues act generally as racist as possible. What do you do?:

Zakhar looks at the dwarf through narrowed eyes, he hisses, angered by what the dwarf is saying. As the dwarf continues to insult him, considers attacking it, but decides against it. He exits the tavern, leaving the dwarf behind, and hurries from the city. Once outside the gate, Zakhar smiles to himself, the dwarf was ignorant a weak minded, and they think the kha, far more intelligent beings below them, Zakhar laughs, the dwarf had proved only that he was inferior to a Kha.

Zakhar stares at his friend for a moment, trying to take in what he had just said, wishing it wasn’t true. Though, as much as he wished, it was, Zakhar was torn, loyalty to his friend, and loyalty to the Kha, Zakhar decides that the Kha deserve his loyalty, more than his friend does, after all, he has just killed a Kha in cold blood. Zakhar tries to persuade his friend to hand himself in, to beg the Tla and Metztli for forgiveness, Zakhar then expels him from his house, as soon as his out of sight, he follows him in secret, to see if his friend hands himself in, if he doesn’t, Zakhar will be forced to inform a Dra’Metza himself.

Do you swear to follow the Tlatlanni and uphold his law, and do you swear to hold Metztli and all of her actions as sacred? I do
