A Strange Parchment

Hadrien de Sarkozy sat in his laboratory poring over the qu-eer parchment. It was a strange thing, frayed and old and yet the text was shown as clear as if it was written yesterday by a master calligrapher. He frowned, adjusting his round spectacles. The man had given him the text, and he had heard nothing from him since. He claimed to be a retired Alrasian soldier, however Sarkozy was beginning to doubt that story.

"I must part to my enclave, may you find the message in that parchment deciphered in time!"

It had been hours, perhaps even days, and he had yet to decipher it. He rubbed his hand against the polished oak of his desk furiously, looking out the window at Krak du Rhoswen. Fearing distraction, he looked back to the parchment.

Klk zxm Zyl'Mxktlm pxnt+, txwxt fxllt pys x Mxdynxt sxw txwxt fxllt jxklt. Mxn txwxt fxllt dytxp dxs Axgys. Ryl txwxt dytxp+, Hxzxryg txwxt pxtyr "Hxk Hyglm Txk Yxn" sxw Zyl'Mxktlm twxwt rybyn.

He had established that Axgys was Aegis. Well, he thought so. Even more puzzling than the task the Alrasian had left him was the fact that the text was supposedly found in a ruin in Asulon...which didn't explain why it would mention Aegis. Hadrien squinted at the parchment as if it would change anything.

Mxn txwxt fxllt dytxp dxs Axgys.

His head started to pound.

The phrase 'txwxt fxllt' was repeated constantly throughout the text, as was 'Zyl'Mxktlm'. The latter looked awfully like a place or person's name.
