Kickstarted and Running 965 Share Posted October 13, 2012 The Gryphon Bannermen, soldiers of Pruvia and the house of Horen-Gryphon The Gryphon Bannermen are the soldiers of the duchy of Pruvia. They maintain the peace and can be called upon in times of war. There are several ranks within the Gryphon Bannermen and various codes to be followed and regulations. Ranks: Bannerman- The basic line infantry of the Gryphon Bannermen, they are commanded by a Sergeant and preform basic duties such as patrol. The squad is given bunk quarters and are not always together. A Captain or Sergeant may decide to only send a fraction of the squad on duties such as patrol to maximize efficiency. Sergeant- The squad commanders of the Gryphon Bannermen. They command squads of troops of no more than 5, and keep the squad in fit condition. They recieve orders from Captains on what their squad is to be doing and the Sergeant assigns individual men of his squad to various duties given to that squad. Captain- Commanders of the Gryphon Bannermen. They assign squads to duties and command a set number of squads depending on various factors such as the number of squads, squad size, number of captains, and squad skill. Gryphon Guard- The elite troops of the Gryphon Bannermen. They protect the members of the family and make sure the Captains are doing their job properly. They listen to the head of the family alone, and no other member of the family. If needed they can promote or demote troops or even dismiss them if absolutely nessecary. Only the best are chosen and they may come from any of the ranks suddenly. They also watch the ranks for outstanding individuals who may become candidates. The Gryphon Bannermen are based out of the duchy of Pruvia and only have jurisdiction in there. If any are found breaking laws or commanding power in other lands they will be dismissed and possibly executed. -OOC- Forum Name MC Name Skills -RP- What is your name? What are you good with? Kickstarted and Running 965 Author Share Posted October 13, 2012 Military benefits: Gryphon Guard Gryphon Guard benefits are the same as previous ranks along with others including higher pay, a free Steel (diamond) armor repair per Elven Week, a free Steel (diamond) Weapon repair a week, larger lodging, access to the Gryphon Guard Lodge, no taxes. Captain Captains recieve all of the previous benefits along with a house, half taxes, increased pay, 2 free Iron Armor and weapon repairs per Elven Week, free drinks at the tavern Sergeant Sergeants recieve all benefits from previous ranks along with a separate room in the squad barrack, a free Iron Armor and Weapon repair per Elven Week, increased pay Iron leggings and boots Bannermen Bannermen recieve pay, an Iron chestplate and either sword or axe, a bow and half a quiver (32) arrows, leather leggings, boots, and helm, and a chest and bunk in the squad barrack Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Makin' weapons never suited me, but I always tend to pick one up and spar my brothers. I also know my way around a bow as well. ayresalex 517 Share Posted October 15, 2012 Mikhael passes through the gates into Mireton, he breathes in the fresh mountain air, and grins, Just like home... he thought. He was just recently outfitted with his new Gryphon tabard, and felt quite spiffing in it. Better than that damned Elendil gave me. Nothing. he mused. Mikhael felt quite at home with his new position. He was serving a house that was close knit with the Emperors own house. He gloated this to his friends a few to many times at the Therving Tavern, and set on an air of importance and sometimes- arrogance. Mikhael stops at the crossroads, spotting Kazrek. Mikhael wondered if this was the new recruit that Alexander had told him about. Nonetheless, using his gruff northern accent he yelled, "'ey! Yew dat new man his lordship was talkin' about?" (Can be swung with one hand if the character is strong) And when my father passed of old age, I've spent countless years teaching my self how to use a longbow, but I have not still not perfected the art of it. (Longbows take a long time to learn how to use properly, learning by yourself takes even longer). Are you willing to move to a permanent residence?: Seeing that I have none at the moment I wouldn't mind to move to a permanent residence. What previous experience have you had? (RP on the LotC server): (This character is new) I've fought and lived trough the brutal field in the Alras war. Now I mostly stop bandits from doing anything rash. (I have rped in major events when Oren was just Renatus) Why should I take you?: Well, if you don't take me in as a bannerman, you'll just lose a chance to have a skilled swordsmen and a loyal northern man.
