Geo 1415 Share Posted October 20, 2012 Hello there! Okay so those of you that play a Kharajyr (or maybe wish to play one in the near future) may be wondering right now what is going to happen to us in 3.0 and whilst there have been many rumours floating around that we may not be a playable race in 3.0 I assure you that is not the case. We are here to stay! I am going to be covering a few changes that will happen for us in 3.0 so you have a fair idea of what is happening with your character and if these changes are vital to you in anyway. Religion. First things first religion has always been a big part of Kharajyr lore and role-play and I myself feel that it was been quite neglected recently considering how big a part of the Kharajyr culture it actually is! Myself along with our beloved Benboboy and Shadowoking are going to be working hard to overhaul this and revamp the lore as well as other lore to try and revive a bit more culture into our role-play! For a start we are thinking of getting what I can only really call 'Kharajyr magic' implemented into the game but whilst this is not official yet it would be along the lines of invoking power from Metztli in order to heal the wounds of others, thus giving our priests actual purpose. We will be bringing back a lot more ritualistic feel into our role-play, yes this means much more sacrifices, ceremonies, rituals and tribal festivities to brighten up our events. IN character we are going to be enforcing to the other Kharajyr just how important Metztli is for she is not only your goddess but your creator and she should not be ignored as your esteemed mother. Culture. To the outside world it seems as if Kharajyr culture is not there at all and whilst this is mainly because they do not know what goes on within our hidden jungles they are partially correct, we have dimmed a fair bit on culture in the past while and so we will be working hard to bring that back for 3.0! When was the last time we had a cake festival or witnessed a blood moon? Exactly, we want to have more events be planned for you all and we will even need your help with them, be that IC or OOC help it won't matter! Be prepared to get a lot more involved with your community for we are going to kickstart a bunch of events when the new world hits. Racial Status. Where we stand as a race is quite a big aspect of our role-play right now as I think we may be one of if not the most unplayed race right now. Why is that? Well it's because the community has lost interest in us and that is something we plan to change! Though we need each and every one of your help to do that, it doesn't help when players go inactive because we need you! One of our main issues is inactivity; people that have just stopped playing their characters and let me remind you that every single one of you that has an unplayed Kharajyr is welcome to bring them back into RP at any time you want! We are going to be revamping almost everything so that our race appeals to the community more, this means holding events and festivals that other races are invited to and we eventually plan to have a village that is open to anyone and everyone. We can't do this without your help though folks, you all have friends I'm sure you do so it is your job to be bringing those friends to us, think the Kharajyr would appeal to them then ask them to come play with you! We're a team and we can either rise as a team or fall as a team, though I've always found climbing a tree much more fun than falling on my backside! Community. Our community right now is a very close knit one and I am grateful that most of us have stuck together, I am. After the fall of the first Kharajyr homeland I am aware that a lot of people fled from us because they lost faith in our ability to defend them, so they have mixed in with other cultures. We have done a fantastic job in getting most of them to rejoin us once again in our new shrouded haven but I wish to bring that over to 3.0 to! I want our in-character community to be equally as fantastic and strong as it is now if not stronger and you should all want the same. We are going to have a lot of community building activities in the new world one of which is the most important activity to us as a race and this is building the new city. When we find our new home we are going to have nothing, literally nothing but the claws and paws that Metztli has gifted us with! We are going to nee to work together to gather resources and construct a new place for us to live, this means all of us will need something to do in order to get things going, did I mention it will all be role-played? Our out of character community is rather fantastic too, we have a large Skype group that we all converse in and we do have a great laugh there but I wish to improve on something. I know our sub-forum is a mess, I've tried to contact an FM to help us, believe me I've tried hard but that does not mean you can't use the sub-forum for now. We need more RP posts written, not just by myself but by everyone, the forums are a place to converse and we should use them efficiently! "Ape Kha" Ape Kharajyr are Kharajyr that go against the Kharajyr culture to adapt to other cultures maybe for reasons of loss of faith, being outcast or simply being born to a family of Ape Kha. Now this always been a problem for the Kharajyr society but only really In Character though until recently it became an out of character problem. Now my problem with this is that I think there are too many Ape Kharajyr, simply speaking almost half of our race doesn't follow our culture and half of them do, this is not how it should be. Understand that an Ape Kharajyr is someone that has had so much torment, so much depression and loss of faith that they simply do not trust in their own race's capabilities any more. Take the fall of Va'Khajra for example, that was when most of the Ape Kharajyr first became who they are, when the orcs besieged our island they simply believed that Metztli had abandoned them and could not live with their people an more; this is a reason I find believable. Though there have been a lot of Ape Kharajyr recently that have had pretty mild reasons for being who they are and I find that some of them just wish to role-play as a 'little kitty cat' or someone's house pet. Understand that this is not who we are and even if you are an Ape Kharajyr you still have your natural feral instincts, you are still a huge jungle cat. An Orc can live with a halfling all his life but he is still ridden with bloodlust, etc. We are going to be working hard to revamp the whole application process to make sure we have as little Ape Kharajyr as possible because converting from a normal Kharajyr to an Ape Kharajyr is like being Catholic one day and the next day you suddenly say "Yolo I'm now Islamic." No, it doesn't work like that, there needs to be something pretty big to make you lose all faith in your worshipped deity. We are going to try our best to restrict the amount of new ape Kha, get as many of the current ape Kha to rejoin us in 3.0 and make being an ape Kha living hell for those that still are. And remember, if you are playing as an ape Kha, play it right. You still need to follow the lore to as certain degree because the whole point of the ape Kha thing is that you are still a Kha, if you want to play an ape go and make a human character. You may be liable for a revoke if I see you acting like a little bitty house cat, letting everyone pull your tail. You are still a feral animal to some extent, the Daemon Metztli still has control of your instincts. Architecture. It is safe to say that we will probably not build in trees again, that was mostly circumstantial and we will be going back to building on the ground. We are going to be trying to overhaul the architecture designs for houses, temples and the like so that it has more of a Kharajyr/Aztec feel to it but we do need your help also. Anything you can offer like reference pictures or actual builds will be considered. Everything will be built in character with the help of most of the Kharajyr so I expect it to be a fun event. Your input. These are only some of the changes that are going to happen in 3.0 and there will be many more coming but we wont get where we want to unless we have your input, I'm not just talking about the Kharajyr but the whole of the LOTC community. What do you want to see added, changed or removed in the new map? Your input will be highly considered and who knows you may be responsible for a very awesome change that will happen.
Wretched 2075 Share Posted October 20, 2012 "Ape Kha" I should also probably mention, that we do keep tabs on those who do not follow Metztli's ways. And come 3.0 we will be finding them and requesting lore/information on why their character is like that. And if it doesn't make sense then they do risk a revoke. Now this may sound harsh, but there is a seperate application for a reason. If your Kha' is lorebreaking then we have no choice but to revoke them in order to steer us back on track. However I should also mention that these character revokes do not stop anybody from re-applying to the Kharajyr with a seperate character.
Addled 62 Share Posted October 20, 2012 As a new member and a new Kha, I am interested in helping in any way I can. That being said, I haven't gotten to experience true Kharajyr RP yet and don't know what needs changing if anything does at all. (Based on seen information) I would like to see a litle more added to the language and dialect of the Kha because, though what has been offered looks really interesting and has given me many ideas for my new character, I feel that it shys in comparison to the other race's. I am very interested in different languages so it may be my own biased opinion but I think that this would help the Kha greatly.
Skippy 2466 Share Posted October 20, 2012 The Kha will probably hate me for saying this, but I was hoping that the Kha wouldn't come to 3.0. I liked the original 4 races.
Wretched 2075 Share Posted October 20, 2012 The Kha will probably hate me for saying this, but I was hoping that the Kha wouldn't come to 3.0. I liked the original 4 races. It's not up for debate and this is certainly not the place to debate about it. Yes, a lot of us have recieved our fair share of hate in the past from certain people in the community that disagree with the Kha' being implemented, but it's not going to change anytime soon. We understand that not everybody supports the Kharajyr, and we're always open to feedback, but "You shouldn't be here" isn't feedback we can use and I must ask that people avoid posting it. Thank you.
Geo 1415 Author Share Posted October 20, 2012 The Kha will probably hate me for saying this, but I was hoping that the Kha wouldn't come to 3.0. I liked the original 4 races. It's a little bit late for that now though! If you don't like the Kharajyr perhaps you should give some input as to what we could do to make them better. It's not so much he doesn't LIKE them. It's more a large amount of people wish to get back to traditional Aegis 4 races for 3.0. Edit: At least, that's my opinion and take on things. Amorphbutt 199 Share Posted October 21, 2012 The Kha' are an awesome thriving race (Not like I know anything about them xD). They make great RP, and have awesome lore. Even though I have not made a Kharajyr yet, I soon will.
Fuzzy4ev3r 19 Share Posted October 21, 2012 My Kha right now is a Ape Kha because he never learned Metztli's ways. I plan to have him learn of Metztli's ways and most likely get into the religion a lot more. I have many ways I can do this and all I really need to do is set the plan into motion. I am very glad the Kha are going to be in 3.0 and I hope to have my Kha rejoin the Kharajyr community soon.
Bangi 104 Share Posted October 22, 2012 As our whole family is Ape'Kha I might as well explain the lore now, especially since one or two more may still be joining the family :3 My character Shalua Kal'en was raised on the island of Empyreal as somewhat of an elvish woman. When she was young and lost in the temple and Shalua was picked up (and sort of stolen) by Igneberr, an elf who came to own a portion of a large island. Shalua grew up responsibility free and free to travel, her father had been sure to teach her perfect common. She eventually learned a bit of elvish from Sahra, who had helped raised her. Also in her childhood spoke a bad orcish due to her best friend being a gobbo. When she was seven she was enslaved by oren, but eventually released even though she was permanently scarred by it, and eventually she married Lecha. Lecha was raised in Oren & Hanseti, also in the vale with halflings. He was also a slow learner. All of their children (Gymn & Kaasha, mc names Escharian and Badpumkin Also soon to apply for Kha danielyoda) were raised according to more Ape'kha like behaviors. Lecha & Shalua love eating cake and embarking on adventures and Shalua does hold faith in Metztli (even though she hasn't told her husband). Also some more lore I could explain, I suppose pm me if you want really in depth bio's xP

ShadowoKing 86 Share Posted October 22, 2012 After comments I've found from other users that I have to agree we are turned into orcish, High Elves so I say we turn more to Zealot, tribal worshippers of Metztli which they sacrifice towards her as well as a trade partner towards other races. So ape Khas would be hunted down not accepted unless they forgive and turn back to Kharajyr's ways. This goal I want to see, less High Elves attitude well we still can back talk the other races and less honourable stuff. In lore, we are not honourable when a opportunity raises we strike, and we are cowardly if numbers are too great. (Hit and run) ^^^^My opinion on how Kharajyr should progress
