A Letter of Greetings

My Lords and Ladies of Seventis,

I offer you my most sincere greetings and may you and your Houses flourish until the end of all time. Though, I shall be short with the pleasantries. I am Ser John Woods of House Wood if you do not know of me. I have served the Holy Order of the Red Dragon and his Imperial Majesty with distinction in my pass. Several years ago I inherited the lands of the County of Clark from my former liege. His most generous, noble, and divine Imperial Majesty uplifted my House from that of knighthood to nobility and now I etch this message in ink, writing to you of my return.

I have been away for some time and in this time the Crown and Church has watched over my lands. I have come back from holy pilgrimage to claim my House’s birthright. I hope to have the most pleasant relations with my fellow lords and ladies in Seventis. I hope to make your acquaintance in person sometime in the near future. I would host a ball myself, though with nobility and land come expenses. My coffers are nonexistent and I possess no keep, nor bannermen, nor servants or even supplies to feed and equip such men. If I may be so bold as to invite myself to thy own halls, I would suggest that we meet before your seats sometime to talk business and perhaps share a jest if you are the men or women which have hearts for such things. I shall leave ye’ lords and ladies to this, and may we someday look upon one another with our own eyes.

Most Sincerely, John Woods, The Right Honorable Count of Clark

Upon reading the note, Duke Maris Guivret waves for his adviser to bring him ink and parchment. As he receives the materials, he begins to elegantly scrawl onto the parchment with dark red ink in reply to his Count.

First of all, I must apologize for the lateness of this reply. I have been rather busy getting things back together since my father's passing. As you know, he was bed laden for many years, finally falling to the illness he had.

Now, as things are being put together still, and a wedding is upcoming perhaps we may meet just the two of us in the near future. Though I do enjoy a good festivity, things are rather bunched up at the moment. When we meet, we will discuss the tax and levies you must supply under myself, Duke Maris, as you are the Count to Clark, under my holding of Auvergne. I shall send a courier to you when we shall meet to discuss such things. It is a pleasure to hear from you, and I wish to meet you face to face in the upcoming time of my rising as the Duke of Auvergne. Live long and prosper.

Season's Blessings, Maris Guivret, The Duke of Auvergne.

As he finishes the letter, he folds it up ornately and stamps the seal of the Guivret family upon the front. With that, he gives the courier the orders to run off, delivering the letter with most haste.

A response is returned in short succession with an even shorter message.

"Name a date Lord, and I shall meet it. Provided the dragons to not reach me first."
