  1. The great gates of the Dreadfort open, unleashing a host of messengers, bearing the House Bolton sigil across the Northern woods and hills. A number of these make there way to Winterfell, others to Widow's Watch. They bear various message delegating the duties of the lordship to its bannermen and making requests to its leaders. 2. Inside the Dreadfort, in the smoky study, lit by a roaring fire, Remus listened to one of his outriders, bearing a Stark letter. After hearing all of it, the lord let out a loud laugh. "Ah ha! So the wolf agreed to the terms? That's surprising news. I suppose their not as cold as we thought them. In this case, send Royce with a handful of our men to Winterfell. I trust he will be safe enough in the castle. And send Donnel and a handful of our men with him. As for the men being sent to Sisterton, see to it that they and my brother Damon arrive there as soon as possible on Stark ships. And steward! Take heed of my orders, and we'll set to work on the Weeping right away." 3. Inside of Dreadfort's shady, tavern like hall, drinks are poured and rowdy songs sung. Such songs have become common since Remus upset the Bolton lordship, and established his own form of entertainment as a norm among the bannermen of the house. He was an unusually cheerful man, from a house known for its cold, dour soldiers and statesmen. True, he was a man of those talents as well, but that did not mean he did not being his own gallows humor to his hall in the Dreadfort. He sat with his loud, militant brother sitting to his right, and his homely wife to his left. She was not unattractive, though it was clear that being "the prettiest woman from The Sisters" was not a great compliment. As he jested with his brother and a handful of lieutenants standing on his dais, the lord heard a horn blow and a herald call up above the din of the evening. "The Starks of Winterfell!" Entered were a handful of Stark bannermen, likely being members of the Winterguard themselves, dressed in the greys and whites of the house. Among them was a man wearing a rich fur cloak, who stood forward with a message. Offering the lord the messages sent to him by the King of Winter, Remus Bolton sat on his seat, as his court around him began to mutter about themselves. Finally, the lord's brother spoke up. "Well brother! Let's have it! Oaths, swords, and boys is what this wolf wants. What will you bark back at him?" After drumming his middle finger on the table in a galloping rhythm for some time in silence, Bolton spoke, with a slight laugh. "Now, now, take care. We are not dogs. Boltons do not bark. And we're certainly not wolves either," he looked at his brother with an expression as if to say 'silly boy', "Flayed men do not speak." Rising quickly to his feet, the lord raised his cup and toasted his Stark guests. Remus assured his loyalty to the Kings of Winter, as his father did for a good many decades. However, a matter of things must be concluded before he would send his boy to Winterfell. Offering a letter to the King, he set out his requests to his liege. After seeing the Starks to their chambers, the lord set about making quick remarks with his steward on the status of his in-law's estate at Widow's Watch. It would be imperative to establish the means to construct docks as soon as possible. Making use of the Northern Screamers between the two holdfasts to rally up workers and patrol the areas to keep them crime free during the infrastructural projects. 4. Application Skype name: Cracker's got it. Do you wish to play a GM? If you play a GM you probably can't play a faction: No, unless I get denied. Faction of choice: House Bolton Why you picked said faction: It's a casual start, with plenty of potential to go whichever way I choose. I also got to stick to my Flay roots. Biography of faction. Describe your family in age and characteristics along with proving you read your faction's information section. Be realistic with family size, names (pick them based on historical members of your dynasty, ex. Mern for Gardener) age and personalities/capabilities: The last three and a half decades of Bolton power was made possible with the reign of their last lord, Lord Royce Bolton. A unimposing, unremarkable man in appearance, Royce Bolton was not a person whom would not go unnoticed in a room. He always seemed to be watching those around him, keeping careful track of all the ostentatious, and understated events around him. Making careful use of this watchful characteristic, Lord Bolton careful forged his own schemes and conspiracies for thirty five years, creating friendships, alliances, and eventually vassals out of those around him. Securing the support of the Umbers in a series of wars with the Wildings over the Wall, making use of his brother's position as Commander of Eastwatch-by-the-Sea, securing Karhold by marriage to his eldest daughter, Widows Watch by promised safety from Hornwood, and Hornwood with promised glory in the South, and securing pretenders in the Sisters, and the Paps and Pebble by force, Royce gained power by by the sworn, the ring, the pen, and envelope. But only two years ago however, the North saw the passing of the statesmen, leading to the title passing to the son of the late lord, Remus Bolton. Remus in many ways became a comfortable change in attitudes in the way of his father. Relaxed, amiable, and a generally jovial man, Remus entertained many guests at the Dreadfort, with his dark humor and off handed remarks on religion and foreign politics. Where is did not prove to differ from his father however, was his knack for statesmanship. Remus, though quicker to anger than his father, and a cruel, ruthless man when in a tirade, proved to be more than capable of keeping his vassals in line, ensuring that Bolton hegemony over the northeast did not perish. Having ruled two years now from the humble age of thirty one, Remus is virile man, with a younger brother, married to the daughter of Lord Flint of Widows Watch who proved to be an aggressive, militant man both in his youth and older years, along with an elder sister married to the Lord of Karhold. With two younger sons of ages eleven and nine, as well as a daughter of six years, the state of the realm seems to be in good order, should the Starks choose to utilize their Bolton vassals. Can you be active? A post every 2-3 days at minimum is expected: Yes
  5. ^^^this^^^ Please. Everyone. Stop. This has turned into Borat 2.
  6. ((To be fair, Petrus is most populous... I don't think it's an accurate representation of numbers. Regardless, comparing your ddddddd sizes isn't very comely. lotcflamewarsm8s))
  7. ((My only request is to stop speaking old Raevir speak. It makes a farce out of the people and gives your king a -10 diplomacy. Just sayin))
  8. ((Is Petrus really that bad that it warrants a reconstruction? Personally I think it really needs people, and I don't think it will help that much for it to be reconstructed. To give a suggestion though, I'd advise not making it large. Give the city room to grow naturally and don't build walls around it.))
  9. I decided to log back on to LotC after a month long hiatus and I was greeting by this message. java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: no further information: Not quite sure what the issue is, but I can log on to Dark Ages, a PvP Minecraft server, and my internet in general is working fine. Any possible help would be appreciated, thanks.
  10. A great black raven of a Ruskan breed pierces the skys above the papal residence. The message scrawls across the parchment tied to its spindly leg reads thus. "Allfather bless you, your grace Daniel I. I offer you my humble service and my weary feet. With luck, this bird shall reach you before I do. Although God have mercy should it reach you and I do not. The roads are still want for security in this land. I am Ioann of Kralta. I was born to a haberdasher and his goodwife five and forty years ago. When I heard God's word I set off to follow Saint Bogdan the Wise and learned from him while he remained in the court of Lord Carrion. Saint Bogdan ordained me as a priest of Godan I then set forth on my own pilgrimage, despite my lame footing. I traveled across the Fringe, until I found temporary residence in the township of Vekaro. There I blessed and baptized a man formerly known as Siguine Barrow. I hope to have the honor of meeting him once more under God's light. Creator bless us all."
  11. Vassily grunts. "This is fake. Cannot be a Raevir without offering Carrion Black™ and White™ in your establishment,"
  12. Props to you my friend for trying something new! You have my support as long as your competent with your culture. However, it's important that I agree with my peers above. It is best you just try to establish a noble house first and work from there outwards to spread your culture. Don't focus on nobility, focus on having a lord, one or two sons/daughters, and then his loyal commoners. Trying to make a multifaceted principality is something that is achieved by only the largest of movements, especially in this day and age on the server. I'd also recommend looking up the Auvergnian culture here on LotC. It is based off of the Franks as well, if I am not mistake. Perhaps it's not your exact culture, but it may be similar. Enjoy LotC and my best wishes for whatever you may do!
  13. Vassily grunts, "Only dead Sariant is dead Sariant. They kill my people, men with no faces and no family. Clade Teutonica I spit, and may my folk rest in piece,"
