Definitions

In your own words, define what the act of roleplaying is: Roleplaying is changeing the way you act to fit a role in a game. So if I was a dwarf in world of warcraft and I was playing roleplay with my guild I would act as if I was my character.

In your own words, define what the act of meta-gaming is: Meta gaming is breaking your role that you are playing as, so if I was a knight in world of warcraft it would be liek saying "guys imma go get myself some mountain dew brb" It's when you say knowledge your character should't know. Like saying Guys there's 3 bosses in this tower. When one should say "My fellow knights, there may be foes in this tower"

In your own words, define what the act of power-emoting is: forcing actions on other players like saying "hypersniper1 steals 5 diamonds from oloblob" etc It should be "hypersniper1 tries to steal diamonds from oloblob"

In-Character Details

Character Name:Haythem Rutherford

Character Race:Human

Character biography - Make this at least 2 paragraphs long, which must explain your character’s history, appearance, personality, age and any other details you deem necessary: Haythem was a young boy when his father died. Charles Rutherford was a champion pig rider and he often rode for Royalty. Haythem's brother Edwin was abandoned by his parents as he was too small and no healer thought he would survive childhood. Haythem's father died in a tragic accident caused when jumping over a hurdle he lost control of his pig and it ran of a cliff. Haythem's Mother Susan Rutherford raised him alone. Though money was short she managed to pay for food and shelter by stealing from the local bakery. this ended abruptly however when his mother fell ill. Haythem was no the only person in the household who could work as his sister was leaving to marry a huntsman.

Haythem being 15 at this point got a job as a butcher. He liked this job and he stayed at it for many years. But one day Haythem, who was now 25, was framed of his mother's murder. His short black hair and muscular arms were covered in blood from the butcher. He had no choice but to flea to the woods. No one ventured to the woods as they seemed too dangerous for the townsfolk. But Haythem was determined to prove his innocence but in a world where the powerful are corrupt, one must achieve their own redemption. In the woods Haythem met with a band of traveling mercenries. These men were strange as they wore long red coats. They had lost a few of their soldiers by a pack of wolves the previous night. They took him in as one of their own and trained him in the art of fighting. Haythem was now determined to find the dwarf, who had killed his mother over a bet,at whatever the cost.

What are your characters ambitions?: Haythem is determined to find and kill the dwarf who murdered his mother. He is prepared to do this by any means needed. He would also like to see if his abandoned-at-birth brother is still alive.

Open-Response-Questions

Each question here must be answered with a minimum of one full paragraph, and detail the scene you are given in the way it would happen in roleplay. These questions should be answered in first person. Be detailed, not short.

Upon entering the Mighty Human City of Arethor, you come across a shop-keeper calling out to sell his wares to passers-by. The shopkeeper is not a Human, he is a poor dwarf looking to make a living in a new city. What is your response? I walk up to the dwarf, with a look of amazement due to the size of the city. "Hello dwarf," I say "I am new to this city and I was wondering if you could help me find a person"

"aye if persons ye be lookin' for I be the one to come to. I will help you find this person, for a price of course" He says

"Like I said friend, I have just arrived and have no money, But I will pay you in plenty when I have the chance if you could help me find a dwarf by the name of Edward Vinter." I offer

"Aye, I know the man, you be wanting to stay away from those kinds of people, they're dangerous"

"I know, I have past experiences with them"

"Listen mate, I don't mean any offence or nothing, but if its he you be lookin' for I cannit help ya"

"thanks for your time" I say, half heartedly, as I wonder into the huge crowds.

You’re wandering the Oren Road late at night, when a large Orc begins to threaten a nearby dwarf. There is no help nearby, and the situation looks like it will escalate into violence soon, what does your character do? I see the Orc, he is huge. Veins bulging over muscles, lean legs and a large sword in his right hand. I begin to cross to the otherside of the path. I have no quarrel with this Orc and I have little sympathy towards dwarves. But then the dwarf turns and locks eyes with me, he is so helpless, so innocent, I feel instantly guilty inside. I draw my bow out, put and across on the string and pull the string back all the way. I feel the tension of the bow, My hands shake. But I know what Orcs this size can do. If my arrow misses he will charge at me and I will die. I can't risk failing my quest so early on. I don't trust my hands right now. I need more training before I will be able to take on foes this size. I put my hood on and slowly creep into the forest. I will live now and fight another day. I can't help but feel guilty, so I think to myself "it was the dwarves fault for not being careful enough" But I know even if this is true I will never stop thinking about how I should have helped him today.

Whilst walking down the road to Malinor, you stumble upon an old man. His walking stick , looks weak and frail, and just as you are about to ask something, the stick breaks, and the man falls to the ground. As he falls down, a bag of Minas falls to the ground, and splits open. As you watch the multiple coins spill out, you peer down at the defenceless man. What does your character do?: I look at the old man. He is so defenceless, so weak. But I need to find my mother's killer, by any means necessary. I lean down and begin to pick up the coins and stuffing them into my pockets. I feel terrible, each coin weighs a tonne. The old man begins to groan something but I cannot make out any words. I begin to turn and run but I think to myself "would my mother be proud of me" at this thought I am paralysed. If I carry on like this I will become just as bad as my mother's killer. I turn back to the old man but to my surprise a guard has emerged from the woods and is now running towards me. I have now one choice. I turn and flee into the woods.
